I want to see an option for a double press of the “A” button for a pass with an animation for a reverse pivot pass for a kickback/throwback pass to the backside fill guy ala how Villanova teaches their players. You see it all the time in basketball games whether college or NBA. I’ll look for a video to share...
Here is example at the 1:26 minute mark..... Lakers SG Josh Hart 2017-2018 Season Highlights http://youtu.be/x3t6AqtPyPU
    WTF
Thats an indepth guide alright. Doesn't look like a lot of change was made, so it should be business as usual.

Steals with the right stick is new right? Or brought back I should say?
what is interesting is that a lot of these youtubers dont even know what a skip pass was and thought it was new input ....i was like damn:jpshakehe
i hope pulling the chair is actually is feasable now in 19 cause for the most part as a defender in the post ur pretty much stuck in a two man animation majority of the time in 18
and it would be nice if the CROWD DRIBBLER defending works outside of just on the ballhandler in a tripple threat ...because as it was in 18 defenders had no animation to interact with a ball handler just dribbling in one spot...all we had was reaching foul animations ...hope hand checks and body push ups can be done this year with the CROWD DRIBBLER control input
wow whatever happened to the simple press one button jump, shoot and pass controls? lol.. This is pretty insane but it shows how deep this game is.

I always tried to do that but never could pull it off. If you got a video showing this I would like to see it?

What's the defensive "chuck" and "grab"?

Those are off ball defensive tactics KC where you can grab guys from behind when the offensive player is attempting to move with out the ball or impede offensive players path by standing in front of them and bump(chuck) them off path.

    It doesn't work in 18.

Does anyone know in 2K18 how they managed to grab offensive rebounds without throwing the overhead pass? I'm so used to the Y button letting you offensive rebound without making a pass afterwards?
Protect and hard stop are truly the best addition in gameplay we missed in previous versions, hope will be well balanced.
Finally we can go downhill after PnR creating mismatches Harden like.
The only fear is contested shots will still be determined by defender's closeness rather than staying in front of the shooter with hands up
 Really? Just hold up to contest. Did you subconsciously hold towards the player or something? I can only imagine the frustration.
I just like the extra control of swiping with the hand that you choose. I can't tell you how many times I've been in perfect position for the steal, but press the button, and my defensive player come across his body with the wrong hand trying to make the steal.
    WTF

I'm not crazy about the return of this. I see why we need it. But it was pretty annoying. It caused the ball handler to lock up in a certain aniimations. And the rate that users used it over and over. Kind of annoying in my opinion. But I'll wait and see what they've done.
A couple things that seem to be passing under the radar.
    - Size up combos seem to have expanded from only 2 moves to a possible 3.
It’d probably be impossible simply based off the number of unique size up sets but branching from the first two moves of an animation package into the third move of another would be extremely dynamic.
    - Cross to Hesi Escapes look like a new edition.
It’s possible that’s it’s just 2k spelling out how to do moves already included in the preset hesitation combos. An example of this is the step back type move in Lillard’s hesitations that I’ve personally never been able to pull of.
I’m glad that they’ve added a dedicated button to chucking and grabbing, adds way more user control to those features. Going to have to get used to to it being B/O. A/X would work beautifully in MyCareer or player lock but that buttons functionality in 5v5 modes is far too important.
It’d be nice to see user generated fouls off the balls when players get too grabby.
I hope users can still consistently decide between a simple cross or a between the legs cross when sprinting with them changing that specific control.
Mike! If by chance you browse this thread I would like to request dribble and absolute controls separate. I would like dribbling to be camera relative and shooting absolute!
Most will know the pain of playing camera relative controls on broadcast cam angle. Whenever you shoot you end up banking the shot whenever you are at an angle. I'm 50% sure that this was not an issue in past games.

I am happy that 2K changed “between the leg” dribbling from pulling the analog stick back/left; back/right, to holding the RT and flicking left and right.
The analog back/left and back/right never felt intuitive or responsive to me.
Regarding layups, looks like they changed the Euros and cradle layups to flicking left and right on the analog stick. Last year that was for left and right handed layups. I’m assuming the devs simplified the layups by removing the right hand or left handed finish options?

Couldn't have said it better myself...
I thought the idea to put in right stick stealing with control over reaching with either hand was a fantastic idea. All they needed to do was improve the steal system and it would have been perfect.
Same thing goes for offball offensive moves when you could choose what kind of offball cuts you wanted to do... I miss that feature as well especially now that they added in offball defensive moves...

Another year, another wasted opportunity to give us more control of passing. The only thing that's holding 2k back for years now in terms of gameplay is how the speed of passing does not reflect real life. Quick zip passes, jumping in the air to pass over a bigger opponent, passes around a player, one handed passes, quick outlet passes, chest passes, where are they?
Instead we have to live with the overhead outlet pass, slow passes around the perimeter, baseball passes into the crowd and easily intercepted by CPU probably too. How this area is not addressed and not a thing people would like to see changed massively is beyond me. Passing is still on the level of a ps2 game, slow and not responsive enough. With all that 2k does, I'm sure they could make this much better. It's a matter of prioritising and to me this is #1.
