Tennis World Tour Gameplay Video & Interview, Release Date Scheduled For May 2018

Breakpoint’s Etienne Jacquemain (Ramone Russell is there too) showed off some alpha Tennis World Tour gameplay footage, during the PlayStation Experience livestream. In the interview, he states the game is scheduled to release in May 2018. As more details arrive, we will post them.

As noted back in May

Pierre André, Game Designer on Tennis World Tour and former Producer on “Top Spin 4”: “For years we’ve wanted to create a new tennis game, a spiritual successor to “Top Spin 4″. Technical evolutions now mean we can create the ultra-realistic simulation that we’ve been dreaming of.”

Tennis World Tour features more than 30 playable tennis stars including Roger Federer, Gaël Monfils, Angelique Kerber and Garbiñe Muguruza.

Check out the alpha footage and post your thoughts.

    PSX 2017 demo gameplay.

This says PSX gameplay? Don't they really mean PS4 or PC? Last I checked PSX stood for Playstation 1 right? Anyhow, no farther details on anything like release date or where they are at in the development of this game.

Tony, I think PSX is the name of the Playstation convention at which this video was shown.

Here's the full interview from the event.

So May 2018 is the tentative release date. IMO looks like it will be released around French Open & Wimbledon time.

Could be the level they are showing but the ball coming across the net is very slow...I assume it is easiest level...

Yup the speed of the ball is on the slowish side as the player is able to get to shots which should be winners.
The animations of this game severely lack intensity and athleticism. Watching the serves, I see a total lack of punch and power as the player swings through the ball. The forehands look the players are warming up, rather than looking for winners. Hopefully, they add some extra energy to this game before release.
There is a new youtube developer diary up for Tennis World Tour (in French) - some in game images and motion capture.
As I have less than 5 posts on this site I can't add urls, but if you search youtube with "Tennis World Tour - Developer Diary - Capturing Tennis" you will see it - maybe someone can post the proper link...
Wonder if this tennis game will have a replay & challenge system? I think if they added that it would add to the actual realism of the tennis that's played these days.

    gameplay looks awful

Hahahaha I was thinking the same. I have no idea who would ever buy this kind of game and even spend time playing it
