I would expect a bigger one on Tuesday when the game actually drops.
Sadly the stat OSDs aren't fixed in 1.03.
Sorry I can't keep up with all the lingo what's osd stats?
On Screen Display stats
Hard to explain how something like this gets thru testing. Then again, SDS gameplay stream was Battle Royale/DD so I guess they didn't even look at Franchise. It is disappointing because the game is really great this year. Anyhow, I have faith it will be fixed quickly.
Okay thanks. Can someone tell me what the issue is, I haven't played franchise yet
Playing on balanced HDR off on Samsung 55” UHD (2016 model).
But as long as people keep buying packs, who cares amirite?

Yes, you are so right. :brickwall
They either don't regression test franchise game play, or they do test it, but then choose to ignore the problems. It's not just the "On Screen Display" that is buggered, the "Dugout" view camera for franchise manage games ceases to work as well. A defect was raised on the Show nation site and it remains to be seen if it will be fixed. In the mean time I am using the "Backstop" camera as a replacement.
PS: The "Dugout" camera view does work in RTTS games. It's only franchise manage games that it is broken. But I don't want to sound all doom and gloom (unlike the MSM who is peddling their panic virus). I am actually pretty impressed with what I have seen with MLBTS20. :y220b:
That wasn’t a bug, it was a decision they made. They talked about it on one of the prerelease streams.
in before That goi
So if they have a patch to fix it by tomorrow, I’ll be fine with it. But if not, then I’ll be the first to complain. You definitely shouldn’t have problems with on screen stats in Franchise. That’s a somewhat important fix.

The game technically dropped last week. The company that makes it distributed it and opened their servers, while up-charging for the privilege to use the product, to anyone that wished to pay $79.99. It’s been released. It’s a thing. Anything you see is what the final product was. Anything that is patched in moving forward is an amendment to that final released product released for purchase to the general public.
No free passes. I’d be even more pissed if I paid extra, only to find out that the stock rosters are nearly unusable and the OSD’s are jacked up. To go along with any other issues that have to be fixed. We aren’t beta testers once we pay for the product. The public that pays less for the product shouldn’t benefit from a more complete service as a result of the ones who paid extra finding and pointing out glitches and flaws.

Or, assume that the game will be buggy and not spend the money until after release date?
Maybe I've just become more patient with age, but I can't imagine spending $20 for getting a game 4 days early, particularly since EVERY YEAR it takes a few weeks for all of the major issues to be patched. I'm going to wait this one out.
Exactly why I now wait instead of preordering. I’m still enjoying my franchise on 19 with a great roster and slider set. I’m sure I will eventually buy 20 once some of the bugs are patched, and Mike Lowe releases his slider set... maybe even get it once the price drops. For now I’ll stick to 19 to get my baseball fix.
I have never pre-ordered a game for the same reason but I was working night shift for 3 days after the pre-release date and knew I would be able to get in some very solid time. So I pre-ordered and was disappointed to find out the advertised rosters would not be out until this coming weekend.
I would be really happy if you are right and they are updated today. But the pessimist in me does not believe this will happen
Oh lord. Your going to be that guy? A core mode, and a new and shiny feature that they sold the game on are not working properly. A lot of people paid $80 to get this game early to enjoy these features. Yet they can keep rolling out new DD prospect cards but they can’t provide a fix for the $80 we already spent? And we are the ridiculous ones?
Okay..... got it
Sorta like this one...

Yes, long time Show fan, but have to agree here. Could have been a hell of a lot cleaner release for us. Just look at the managers/coaches that are in the game. Are they telling us that this will remain the same and there will be no update???? People have already started franchises.
That's the frustrating part for me. I was sold on this and have never preordered. Getting my pre-order money back should be the minimum at this point.
It also resulted in the Astros beaning 3 of my batters

FWIW Ramone tweeted years ago that him and the other devs were asked to not post specifics here anymore so he isn’t able to say much. This is more common in all of the subsections of the forums, not just MLBTS. Sure there are a few bad eggs here but nobody ran them out of town with torches and pitchforks.

I believe this patch..1.03...was the release day patch for '20.
I would expect the next patch to be around the first part of April. Just a guess.

Jeeze! 7 homeruns??? I am lucky if I hit one in a game right now. Which batting style are you using CB?

If that’s true a big ‘booooo’ from me. You’d think after all these years someone would have spent some time updating the pencil necked gargoyle looking managers and coaches so they at least didn’t look like they belong in Interplay Baseball over a decade ago. What an eyesore for this great looking game. So, if you are hoping to see real managers/coaches in the game (and that’s a maybe), hold off a couple weeks.
Well we combined for 7 homeruns. I hit 2 and the Astros hit 5, with Altuve hitting two of them.
I use Zone hitting with the WIDE batting camera.
Yea its really sad. You have coaches/managers that were hired in October and aren't in the game yet? Really, no excuse. Little stuff like this and missing prospects (even top ones!) when you advertise full minor rosters hurts credibility. It's hard to start a franchise right now because I want correct managers and players not fake Nickelodeon looking players. This generation of gaming as been overall lackluster. Its just an excuse for companies to release unfinished games while charging out the a$$ and taking months to update...if at all. It's just insanely frustrating for an offline gamer.
Are managers/coaches patched in or are they done via a roster update?
Just asking because I honestly don't know how they are added to the game.
And for the record, I have nothing other than personal opinion to go on when I state that patch 1.03 is the release day patch and that another patch is a couple of weeks away. That is purely speculation and my thoughts on when it may happen. For all I know they could release a patch tomorrow, later this week, later this month, or not until June.
Are there things that I wish were in the game or working as intended? Of course, but I'm happy to let it all slide and embrace the fact that while all real-life sports are on hiatus, I can lose myself inside the virtual baseball diamond for hours at a time.
SCEA has a track record of doing right by its fans, even if you bring up legacy issues they haven't touched or they focus more on certain modes than others. They can't please everyone, but to say they're not trying their best or committed to putting forth the best product possible, isn't fair.
Try and make the best of what we have and again, celebrate the fact that this game is available for us to play.

You must be a DD player. That’s the only way I can think you’d be able to justify the mentality “just be lucky we have something”. Franchise players like me are meant to use workarounds in a core mode that isn’t working properly this year, that was working fine last year. Right now you can’t even do a proper rebuild because any prospect you send down before spring training right now goes on waivers and you essentially lose them for nothing (this is against the actual roster rules of baseball).
Sure. Have a glass half full attitude if you like. But to act like everyone else who spent $60-$80 for this product should just be happy with what we got is ludicrous
Edit: so if I sale you a car I advertise as brand new, and the transmission is shot, should I reply to your complaints with “well at least it starts. You should be lucky in these times with what’s going on that it even starts”

I've been hitting quite a few homeruns along with some oppo shots on default legend. Ronald Acuna has been hitting about 1 a game through my first 10 games or so. So far could be the game replicating last years homerun output.
However, I've noticed myself and the computer have been a little on the lighter side as far as scoring and total hits.

This was the first game where I saw a power surge like this. In fact, I was thinking prior that homerun totals have been down versus that of '19
Having perfect’s will impact these numbers, you get perfect more often then not you’ll get a solid hit (home runs)
Little bit less reliant on the dice roll

It’s weird that you and purist are seeing these results as I am experiencing the complete opposite. The majority of my hits are doubles and singles and I am rarely getting home runs, but scoring a ton of runs (7 in my last game). Must be something with zone hitting, because I am using directional and even guys like franmil Reyes and pete Alonso are displaying warning track power at best. I am even considering cranking up the power slider
Like I said this was the first game where I saw that big of a surge in power. I've played 7 games now in Spring Training and the 7 combined homeruns (again I only hit 2) in this game were more than I've seen hit combined in the other 6 games.
Like you most of my hits were doubles and singles, with a triple sprayed in there and then occasionally a homerun.
I do know the wind was blowing out to right field in this game, but 5 of the 7 homeruns were hit to left field. :)
I think its just a product of sample size and other factors.

I’m still curious about this.
I don’t know about that. Nintendo first party games are rarely patched today. If there was a game without glitches it would be from them.

Gameplay:
- Fixed an issue that caused the Button Accuracy Throw Meter to get stuck in the red, following a specific bullpen operation.
- Increase to hitting difficulty in Diamond Dynasty.
- Fewer checked swings will hit the ball into play.
- Pitch speed slider has more range.
- When swinging early on an outside pitch, fly balls and line drives that would be labeled ‘Rolled Over’ will now be labeled ‘Out in Front’.
Update 1.04 is set to deploy at 3 AM PT on Thursday, 3/19/2020.

Awesome thanks for this!
wow looks like there goes the hope of them fixing the OSD stat bug on the next update...man that bugs me how hard can it be to have this work..is it they dont even take any time to research it? stat bugs have alawys been a issue thru the years with certain stats but the one that usually worked fine was the batter walk ups...like what changes to ruin this? yes its nice to see a update rolling out with little fixes here and there showin they are doin somethin i guess
