  1. Not too pumped about the 2016 Warriors. I'm certain many will share that sentiment.
The 2011 Mavericks are a good choice though.
That means if the '93 Nets are really in, we now have five slots left to be revealed.
A team from 2 years ago absolutely no one will want to use because the same team is available today plus Kevin Durant. Lame.
At least we got the 11 Mavs. A much requested team.

Yeah I'm sorry, but this 15-16 **** is just lazy. Any team from 2 seasons ago is just silly. It's not like they dissembled like the Heat did..sorry but this one really pisses me off
So, considering 5 teams are left, three of the following super-requested teams are guaranteed to be omitted
    93 Suns
    00s Pacers
    00's Spurs
    02 Nets
    07 Warriors
    09/10 Lakers
    11 Bulls
    13 Pacers

The funnier part is they chose the 16 team that lost over the 15 team that one because... 73 wins.
This selection drops the ball in so many ways...

I like the 2011 Mavs, Warriors should be in as well but would have preferred them to be in future 2K games and not so soon.

07 Warriors I get, but not this one. Indeed they chose the choke team, hahaha

I'm not holding my breath with the Pacers and Suns. I am holding out for the Spurs, Nets and 2007 Warriors though.
Regarding the '07 Warriors, a 2K rep made a vague reference to their inclusion on an episode of 2K TV by stating something like, "We believe... people will like our new classic teams" following a discussion on Baron Davis. The '07 Warriors squad, of course, was known as the "We Believe" team.

Obviously say goodbye to your Suns, early Pacers and 02 Nets / 07 Warriors / 11 Bulls..probably more if they want to give every franchise a classic team and then you'd need a Clippers & Wiz team..
The 15-16 warriors are disappointing. I get it. They technically have the best record in NBA history and they are an easy team to add but when I hear "classic team" a team from two seasons ago doesn't come to mind. Guess they're an instant classic. I like the Mavs though.
These final 6 teams will be interesting. A lot of fans favorites are still in play but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I just hope they are 6 teams that I will have an interest in using and not teams that I won't touch.
The '11 Mavericks is a good choice, but the '16 Warriors seems like a waste in my opinion.
This could mean we won't be getting the '07 Warriors now that we're already getting a Warriors team.

Tell me why Dallas is a good pick
Look at it on the bright side. We now know 11 of the 16 teams and really 8 of the 11 were heavily requested. 2K overall has done well.

They did give the Grizzlies two 'classic' teams though. I'm hoping for at least the 07 Warriors, and a Barkley/Miller team.

Tell me why Dallas is a good pick

Tell me why it isn't. Best team in mavericks history and they made a historic title run.
Prime Dirk, Terry, Chandler plus Kidd, Peja, Marion...it's a really good team with several retired legends.
    barond57

They're a team that wasn't supposed to win a championship and did, plus we get the best Mavericks team ever and a prime dirk.

Dirk, Kidd, Terry, Chandler, Marion, Peja, etc. That was a fun Mavs team that pulled off an upset against LeBron/Wade/Bosh.

God Mode Dirk, a great opponent for the already included Heat from that era, and the hopeful inclusion of Jason Kidd, which could mean a 2000's classic Nets squad.

They only guy in their prime was dirk and he will be on the all-time rosters. Sorry, I'm hoping for players, not duplicates

The team isnt a duplicate. If you just want new players than just use the all time teams.
Agree with everyone, 15/16 Warriors? Not what I consider a classic team, will they be historic? Yes, but like others, I don't consider it a good fit. We need some older teams, like 80s or early 90s teams. Really disappointed about the pick. Was hoping for the long shot 09 Magic (fan since kid), but would rather have older teams.

Obviously I'm biased but I would love to play with glen Robinson, Tim Thomas, guys that aren't good enogh to make all time rosters. But instead 2k is adding teams it already has multiple versions of. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. We probably don't get a Pacers, clippers, wizards, Bucks team because of this
Some of you guys find a way to complain about anything
Be appreciative that we get these teams new teams added to the decently sized classic teams we already have.
Stop B'ing and Moaning about Everything
Starting to get worried about the lack of a Spurs team when arguably 2-3 are worthy of being added
Hope they didnt lose Timmys license or anything

Glen Robinson jr wasn't in 2K last year nor was Tim Thomas so if they don't get the 01 bucks that's probably why

That could be. But it that's just an example. A better example would be a prime Duncan Spurs with young Parker and genobili. They are all in the game and are more deserving then the both these warriors and mavs

The 01 Bucks should have been added in 2k14 with the 01 Sixers, but now im starting to get the impression they wont be added for a while if at all

You still need to remember that these are not OBVIOUS goodbyes. They still nee players to fill out the suns and pacers(more so than the suns) all-time teams. Its still very likely we get a old Pacers team since they don't have many all time pacers licensed for the game besides Paul George, Detlef Schremf, Chris Mullin, and George McGinnis? Maybe there were one or two in MyTeam? I don't know because I don't use that mode but. They would need more than 4 players to fill out a confirmed 15 man All-Time roster. Meaning some way, some how we have to be getting several Pacers players from the early 2000s team and/or the 90s teams. Thats just something we can't overlook. Whether Reggie is included or not.
Suns are in a similar situation but with Steve Nash, Dan Majerle, Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudamire, Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd, Jeff Hornacek, Larry Nance, Tom Chambers....all licensed to be in the game their situation isn't as crucial as the Pacers.
The Pacers their just isn't a way around it.
'16 Warriors are a classic team indeed. Only team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals. Will stand the test of the time forever.
P.S. I will avenge the Heat!!! Should have been a 3-peat!!!
    Kstat
And they may still yet be included. There are 5 reveals left.

    93' nets
    06' warriors
That makes it 3 left with
    Kidd's nets
    09 lakers
    Allen's Bucks
    Howard's magic
    Paul's hornets
    Brand's clippers
    Prime Duncan's Spurs
    Mcgrady's magic
Joe johnson's hawks and many more that would be better choices
'16 Warriors will be an obvious choice in hindsight. Right now it's a terribly unpopular choice to have them, and that's fine, but 5-10 years down the road when this team is broken up and all the players are past their prime, the same people complaining are going to want them back at some point.
And I hate the '15-present Warriors team to death so you can imagine my pain writing this, but it's true.
    barond57

I think he meant 5 excluding the 93 nets
Let's also remember that just because your desired team doesn't get a classic team the player you may desire most off of that team could be present in the All-Time team. Grant Hill is in MyTeam, we may not get one of his teams but it would be weird for him not to make an All-Time Detroit team. So you still have these players at your disposal.
If we don't get the team you want for example, the 1996-1997 Pistons.
Take Grant Hill off of the All-Time team(assuming he is present),Stacey Augmon off the Jailblazers team, Joe Dumars off the Pistons 89 team or all time team, Lindsey Hunter off the '04(?) Pistons team, Rick Mahorn off the Bad Boys team, Aaron McKie off the Iverson 76ers team, Kenny Smith and Otis Thorpe off the Rockets classic team, and any other person that might become available to us from that team and maker your own.
    barond57
Ok 4 teams left with all those teams I listed. Also add on 00, 04 pacers, 93 suns

It would be 6 teams left to reveal if Kenny Anderson didn't say his 93 Nets were in so we have
    Officially announced:
    96-97 Heat
    98-99 Knicks
    05-06 Grizz
    12-13 Grizz
    01-02 Kings
    03-04 Lakers
    07-08 Nuggets
    11-12 Thunder
    10-11 Mavs
    15-16 Warriors
    Announced via Kenny Anderson:
    93 nets
that brings our total to 5 teams left....
    Officially teased via 2KTV:
    'We Believe' Warriors
So if we go by there being 5 teams left with the we believe warriors being close to confirmed that leaves us 4 spots left.
God willing its a Grant Hill Pistons team and idk like 2002 nets seem to be close to a given.
and then the final 2 teams announce be the 93 Suns and a Reggie Miller Pacers? That would be ideal for a lot of people but its all speculation.
I know they love the warriors over there at 2k but c'mon nah...this was TOO SOON...I'm happy about the Mavs though

I'm lost for words here. That Warriors team is literally ONE SEASON OLD. :jpshakehe:brickwall
That's the utter low point right now, can only get marginally better from here.
All right, 2K. Y'all are starting to make me nervous. Just give me '09 or '10 Lakers (would prefer 09 with Ariza).
Surprised they went with that Warriors though.

Even as a Warriors fan, I have no interest in adding 15-16 as a classic team. That was two seasons ago once this season starts. The same exact team is still available +Durant and you only lose Barnes and Bogut. And Brandon Rush, if you really love him. Predictable though.

A lot of people predicted this correctly . Cool though, can't wait to use Dirk.

I mean there's already a younger, more athletic version of Dirk in the game. Not mad at '11 Mavs but '16 Warriors nah man smh.
    Kstat
Look at it on the bright side. We now know 11 of the 16 teams and really 8 of the 11 were heavily requested. 2K overall has done well.

The term classic doesn't just mean "Old team from at least 10 years ago", the 2016 Warriors were a certified instant classic team the second they won their 73rd game. I felt this way when 2K added the 2013 Heat. They had to include at least one iteration of that Lebron-Wade-Bosh team.
I get that you'd rather have an older team in, but theres a good chance that they could've only added 14 teams then. Last time they decided to add more classic teams they only added 12. We're getting 16 this year, and we knew some would be very recent.
Personally I like that they added the 2016 team. Because now I can create a retro league with all the great teams, and include the 2012 Thunder and the 2016 Warriors instead of the 2018 Warriors, avoiding a duplicate Durant.

All they had to do was win one more game. They lost 3 in a row. That's not a fluke. Injuries, suspension, refs, whatever. They couldn't win one game. No one remembers that 2007 Patriots team for being undefeated. They are remembered for losing in the Super Bowl.
    STLRams
2016 Warriors.... really 2k??? The only other Warriors team that should be included is the 2007 Warriors.

How about the 75 Warriors with Rick Barry? And actually I would prefer the 2016 Warriors too over the 2007 Warriors any day. I really hope the 2007 Warriors are not in but its looking like they may be from what people are saying and speculating.
Im assuming that since the 11 Mavs with Jason Kidd are in and the 08 Nuggets with Kenyon Martin are in, that the 02 or 03 Nets are going to be in as well.
They will probably announce the 93 Nets with the 03 Nets next.
    10 down 6 to go...
    My predictions:
    1. 92-93 New Jersey Nets (Twitter)
    2. 2001-03 New Jersey Nets (Prime Kid)
    3. 2003-07 San Antonio Spurs (Prime TD, TP, Manu)
    4. 06-07 Golden State Warriors (WeBelieve Warriors)
    5. 15-16 Cleveland Cavaliers (BelieveLand vs 73-9 Warriors)
    6. 92-93 Phoenix Suns (who knows?) probably 2008-10 Los Angeles Lakers (Prime Mamba)
So stoked about the '11 Mavs being included :59: :woot::nchuck:
With all of these 00' teams, they HAVE to include a Duncan/Manu/Ginobili Spurs team and a Kobe/Pau team. Ill be shocked if they dont. Those teams dominated the era.
    DutchMastah7
Jason Kidd is back and that is all that matters to me

Oh yeah. With Kidd on the Mavs it's pretty much guaranteed we'll get him in his prime on the all time New Jersey Nets. Can't wait.
    My predictions :
    93 Nets
    03 Nets
    07 Warriors(blah)
14 Spurs(but hopefully its the 03 Spurs, with Duncan, Robinson, Parker, Ginobli)
    13 Pacers
    16 Cavs
In the very slim likelihood that Barkley is in and the 93 Suns are in instead of any of the teams I listed as my predictions, would 2k then bring back that 85 Sixers team? Technically that team won't be new.
    PippenFan

True! That's great and at least means no two Nets teams and a chance for another franchise to get a classic team. Would be odd if one or two from the Clippers, Wizards & Pacers are left without a classic team after this.

    Neither were the Kings.
    and the teams we dont get i might make a 92 Phx 94 Indy 77 Por 92 LAC 75 GSW 78 Wash 03 SA 88 DAL 88 UTA maybe a dream team 2 94 83 Philly 97-98 Van or Tor 96-97 Minn 80 Lalers a New orl Jazz maybe a aba Den/indy team 98-99 Bulls 01 wiz
I am keen to hear the teams moving forward - we can safely say they'll be older teams.
They're obviously saving the good stuff for last by getting the newer teams out the way first IMO.

If you don't think people will remember 73-9 you're silly lol. Also, in that league intervened game, Steph re-injured his knee. Andre could barely move going forward because of his back injury. Bogut was gone. All it takes is a couple injuries and it takes a toll physically and mentally. The Cavs would know all about that in 2015.

I get it, they are historic obviously, but......just give me the 2016 Cavaliers so I can beat them and please make the black sleeved jerseys selectable si I can beat them the right way.
Let's also not forget that we are getting all time teams as well that are fully editable. It may be very easy to construct a team depending on who makes the rosters.

I mean I wasn't even expecting a 97 heat and 99 knicks teams. if we only end up getting two more teams from the 90's and before, and those are the only ones. (assuming 93 nets are just speculation and rumor,) then it's still quite great since i don't think many people expected really any more 90's teams. (even if we were hopeful.)

Yes but the players on the All time teams all, inexplicably have long current shorts and chances are short length is not editable so if you were to create a retro 80s team and used a corresponding player from one of the All time teams, then presumably he would have modern shorts. Extremely frustrating.

Bring on the 11 Mavs. It will test the game's movement and play engine, because that team had no dribble gods and relied on precise ball movement and spacing. I wasnt able to use this team that well in that year's game because the play running was poor and brick wall defenders.
And I think this may mean mid 2000s Wizards are in. 11 Mavs had Caron Butler (injured in December so didnt play playoffs), DeShawn Stevenson and Brendan Haywood.

You should prefer the '07 warriors being in the game. We need classic players that aren't playable or haven't been for a while. If you want the 16 warriors you legit could make them on the game lol
Very frustrated to see the 2015 Warriors in the list.
They made history, ok, but it is just too soon for them.
I'd rather have more teams from the 80s and 90s really.

Short shorts aren't applied by player but by team. So even if the all time players had short shorts if you created a team they would be long. So unless you have a player on an existing team with short shorts it can't and won't happen. So, to get short shorts your player needs to be on a team that uses them no matter what era said player comes from.
So if we're getting the '15-'16 Warriors, I expect to see the Cavs team that beat them in the Finals, given they're the only team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the Finals.

We will be seeing them really soon. That Cavs team is what I could call today a "classic" team (SMH!!!) :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

I hope they add the 08/09 and the 09/10 Lakers to this game or at least one of these teams. Total waste to have these warriors as a classic team

They won't add both, way too similar to each other. Off the top of my head, Artest is the only major difference between the teams.
Even adding one of them will be tough, Bynum, Odom, & Fisher are NOT currently in MyTeam 2k17. We don't even know if Fisher will be on the '04 Lakers or even be back on the '98 & '01 teams for that matter.
man, a lot of you guys r damn unappreciative. we should be thankful that they're working on new classic teams and keeping the old ones. the czar and possibly even scott r gonna be doing a fine job i'm sure giving the classic teams personalities this year, as the name of the game for 2k18 seems to be quality and polish.
the 16 warriors r great to have... they represent the defending champs before they went superteam and lost their respect. and how can u not love the thunder... you can pit so many good matchups against that thunder team.
be happy with what we have - classic teams are an annual work in progress and r obviously not a priority over current teams, which is totally understandable.
16 Warriors is kinda lame. Yeah it's a classic team but it's too soon to add them to the game. Same jerseys, same logo, same court, same core of Curry, Klay and Green minus Durant and some role players. Seems pretty cheap to me.

That's because it is cheap. They have the rights to every player on the team already, they use the same jersey and court, so it's very easy to just make a classic team. It's just something to add to the count for classic heads.
Guys, don't expect too much because you will be disappointed.
Expect the 2016 Cavs announcement tomorrow or pretty soon because by 2K standards that is what should be called a "classic" team.
77 Portland Trail Blazers - not a classic team by 2K standards
79 Sonics? Not a classic team
84 Celtics? Not a classic team
    83 Sixers? No
    93 Suns? No
    93 Sonics? No, not classic.
87 Sonics? 88 Mavs? Are you kidding me?
95 Pacers? Not classic by 2k standards...
93 Nets? Up to this point, not a classic too...
    03 Nets? No!
Serious now, I understand that 2K is making a big effort to please so many fans with so many different opinions and visions and that it does not depend only on their will to announce this or that team. There are many legal issues that need to be solved and many of them do not depend on 2K. I understand that. Many times it is not their fault at all. Right, fine.
But to call those 2016 Cavs or 2016 Warriors classic teams or even those 2 Grizzlies teams a "classic" and to add them as if something different than what we already have is about to be added, that is a joke.
We already have the "classic" Warriors, Grizzlies and Cavs in the game. I can pretty much make them all in 10 minutes anytime I want. So why announce those teams as if they were something extra and new that we will soon be able to enjoy? It is not
Pretty soon we will be getting the 2013 Pacers and to me it means absolutely nothing. We already can build that team anytime we want. The addition of such squad add nothing to table. So why bother? Why make such a big deal?
I´d rather have half those teams, as long as their roster is based on players we don't have in the game anymore, than a bunch of teams that are supposed additions that actually are in the game already. It is a gimmick.
    I don't like such politics.
Good grief, we're seriously turning this into a 3-1 thread? Seriously?
Sometimes I wonder if the Warriors got Kevin Durant just to shut these people up.
    Clearly it didn't work.
And no, I don't have a problem with him going there. He had every right to choose the team he wanted.
That's literally what free agency is.
He exercised his fundamental right to negotiate terms of employment with the employer of his choice.
Would you rather he stay in a terrible work environment?
Hell, I hope Paul George signs with the Warriors for the vet minimum. Let's see what you haters say then.
There is no such thing as "enough wins."
The 1996 Bulls lost to an EXPANSION TEAM. Why don't we hold THAT over their heads?
They also lost one game to the Knicks by 32. Were they "exposed" then?
Appreciate greatness or it's only going to get worse.
And then the league will have to screw over the players' union by saying players can't sign with certain teams.
Then we'll have not just a lockout, but a STRIKE because the players will say "screw you, league, we have the right to play where we want when our contracts end!"
Let's see what you think when there's no new NBA basketball on the air AT ALL.
But sure, keep on saying it until they have 14 top stars.
    3-1, 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, 3-1.
All that'll do is make things worse for you.
For crying out loud, guys, there's playful sports rivalry between fans, and there's mocking players for not having rings and then hating them when they chase rings.
"What's the difference between Kevin Durant and a tree? The tree has rings."
"I'm signing with the Golden State Warriors."
    "HOW DARE HE!"

They have Rik Smits and Mark Jackson in myteam. Antonio Davis if they really want to use him, and I'm guessing Dale Davis wouldn't be too hard to get the rights for. A lot of the all-time classic teams might have to scrape the bottom some to fill out a 15 man roster, not just the Pacers.

If they don't have Reggie Miller there's no discussion to be had. You can't remake the pacers anywhere from 1990-2004 and not have Reggie Miller.

I get it, there are a lot of teams people would rather have, but adding this GS team is just another option. It's not like 2k could only fit 16 new classic teams and GS is taking up a spot and keeping them from adding a different team.
    Aren't more options always better?

It'll be a huge bummer, but they locked themselves in. We know a Pacers all-time team is coming, even if they didn't get the rights for Reg. Maybe he finally had a change of heart. But I've learned over the years you have to expect the worst and hope for the best.

Exactly. People don't seem to understand that having the Warriors is the difference between having 15 teams or 16. Theres a good chance that they could've just given us 8 teams but decided to add more teams since they already have the rights to those players. Again, in 2K16 they only added 12 teams, we're getting 16 now. Probably cause they added whatever else they could make a roster out of.
The bigger grievance I have is that they seem to only be targeting those teams whose players they have the rights to. Thats why we haven't heard of any pre-80's team etc. It's a lot harder to add players then it is to to just
I would be surprised if any GS fans even really care about "3-1" anymore. I know if I was a fan, it would barely phase me.
Yeah, I know it sucks to be so close and lose a Finals but in my eyes it was definitely flukey as hell and then they came back next year and won 4-1 beating them down. Seems like they could've swept but wanted to win in Oracle.
I think that makes it even sweeter that they lost the year before and had to go through all they went through. Like when my Lakers got embarrassed by the Celtics but got revenge in 2010.

As an Oakland native, I still care. Perfect scenario would have been to have gone back to back to back, with Durant hoisting his first trophy on the Warriors' 3rd consecutive championship.
I'm definitely fine with the Warriors 16' because it has all the other players that are no longer with the Warriors (Andrew Bogut, Harrison Barnes, Leandro Barbosa, Ian Clark, Festus Ezeli, James McAdoo, Brandon Rush, Marreese Speights, Jason Thompson, Varejao). Still wanted the Warriors to retain Bogut.
I'm honestly fine with any additional 'classic' teams they add regardless if they're truly "classic" teams or not. I don't mind both Grizzly teams reveal either. I want to see the Warriors "We Believe" squad.
Had they truly only added all 70s, 80s, 90s whatever decade teams, I wouldn't be mad either. I certainly can understand those wanting to see "real classics." It would have been nice. I want to see all the squad mentioned by each and every single poster. But I'll take what I can get.
    Next up... Warriors We Believe.

From the Warrior fans I've seen and talked to. People trying to throw 3-1 in their face doesn't really affect them anymore. I would still care a little because it's one that got away especially after a unbelievable regular season but that 3-1 saying lost its luster overall. I don't think a lot of them care as much since they've came back the next year and won.
Kind of the same thing w/ the Spurs. Their heartbreak might be damn near tied because SA only need to make a FT or grab a rebound. The trophy was literally being brought out and then Ray smh. Still would hurt a little but since they came back next year and beat the breaks off the Heat, I would think that year wouldn't hurt as much opposed to if they lost and didn't win again after.

It's all 2K fault. They gave us haired MJ in the 80s and 90's hairless MJ. Its only fair that we hope for long and short hair Dirk.
I was so afraid that Dirk retiring after this season, so I played the Mav in 2K17 and realised how slow he was. His rating was devastating.
If Paul Pierce is in range of 90+, i'm expecting the same for Dirk. He was unstoppable in that championship run. Ibaka, one of the better defensive player with great shot blocking ability, or Pau Gasol with long harassing arms, or Haslem's pesky defensive plays, they couldnt stop him. Dirk was pretty on fire!

I can imagine the no of playbooks that Czar and the dev team need to scout for all these classic teams. Thats a ton of work there. I'm definitely appreciative of the hard work they put in.
At the same time, i do expressed disappointment with the art department for having awful MJ, Shaq since 2K12. Hopefully, MJ models are revamped, for the love of the game!
Just to add on, Dirk has a funny habit of adjusting his (I think) left jersey at the chest area usually after a foul play, before / after free throw. For Kobe, he would bite his jersey at the free throw line. If Curry or Durant can chew their mouth guard, it would be cool to see Dirk and Kobe's signatory habit in-game.

Never been truly able to use ANY Dallas team cuz of Dirk..and dont get me started on Manu's J...so many others...

Injuries happen. It's professional sports. These guys played close to 100 games that year. If you're on the court, you are healthy.

2015? LOL. Cavs had like an 8-man roster vs. 15 for the Warriors. Big difference.
Anyway, '16 Warriors was the scariest team I have ever witnessed watching basketball. I feel '18 Warriors will be the best Warriors team ever.

16 Warriors is of course a classic team, but would feel bad for fans of Pacers, Wizards or Pelicans fans if both the Grizzlies & Warriors get 2 teams (07 Warriors hinted at) on top of the Lakers getting another and potentially the Cavaliers with a 15-16 team. It's also kind of odd with so many rights to be had for the All-Time teams to roll out all these recent teams of players they already have the rights too. So far there have been some surprises so let's hope for at least 2-3 more.

Not even close. It comes down to whether or not 2k can secure enough likenesses to green light that squad otherwise they wont and for good reason. 2009 Lakers for example. Nobody would use that team without Fisher, Bynum and Odom being there which they haven't for the past few years.
Bynum strikes me as someone who wants WAAAY too much so I doubt we'll ever see him in another video game.

I feel you. For me though and the vibe I get from GS fans I know and the ones on Twitter, "3-1" jokes isn't really effective like it was. They simply just say 4-1. It just doesn't cut that deep anymore. Getting that revenge is like a bandaid. Before it wasn't nothing you could really say.
Also it honestly isn't even said nowhere as much as it was before GS won again. Literally, after anything posted about GS it was 3-1 jokes. I really don't even see that on twitter anymore. If anything, it's someone dissing KD. So yeah for me it would sting a little but knowing we've followed up the next year and smashed them makes it a little sweeter because of what did happen the year before but of course you'll want that ring then because y'all was so close.

It's not exactly like they somehow redeemed themselves by beating the team that they blew a 3-1 series lead to, it's not like the 87 Lakers coming back and winning the next year or the 2014 Spurs coming back and dismantling Miami. Why this victory is being looked at as some kind of revenge for what happened in 2016 is laughable. You signed arguably the second best player in the league and faced a Cavaliers team that had acquired Kyle Korver and late in the season a past his prime Deron Williams. The narrative of somehow "getting back at them" or "righting a wrong" or whatever nonsense delusion that is being painted is ridiculous. The Warriors won fair and square just like the Cavaliers won fair and square in 2016. 2015 is a different story. The second contributer on that Cavaliers team was Matthew Delevadova. LeBron was asked to do more in that 6 game span than most superstars have ever been asked to do. The 2017 Finals both teams were full strength and the Warriors won. Yes but they added Kevin Durant. They will always be the 2016 team that had 3 tries to beat the eventual champion Cavaliers. 3. All the excuses of Bogut was injured in game 5 or Draymond was suspended for game 5 does not change the fact that if that Warriors team deserved to be champions than they would have taken care of business and won 1 single game and took their championship. Period. Draymond played game 6 in Cleveland and LeBron dropped 41 just as he did in game 5 when Draymond was suspended. If Curry is supposed to be what he is purported to be, then why didn't he put Golden State on his back in game 5, 6 or 7? Thompson showed out and got Golden State past OKC but what happened in games 5, 6 and 7? This narrative of "Golden State should have won in 2016 and that was somehow proven by winning in 2017 is so unbelievably farcical that it's almost hilarious. They had 3 chances to beat them and cap off the greatest regular season of all time. 2 of those chances were in their own gym. Game 6 Curry commited some silly fouls, after picking up a couple instead of playing less aggressive on defense he instead still went for steals and put himself in bad positions. (See Scottie Pippen in 1997 Finals as an example how to play with foul trouble in a crucial Finals game or Michael Jordan in the 1991 NBA Finals) even so game 7 in Oakland in front of your overwhelming home court advantage, Curry and the team comes up short. Own it get better and come back stronger and win. 2011 Finals LeBron has an extremely poor Finals showing as does the Heat and the following season they regroup and LeBron has a dominant performance in the next Finals and gets his chip. Also the false narrative of "leaugue tampering" or any other conspiratorial nonsense takes away from both LeBron and Irving's performance in those Finals. Especially LeBron's. Only player in NBA history to lead both teams in every major statistical category in a series. Back to back 41 point performances and then a tripple double all while facing elimination in each game, and arguably the greatest defensive play in NBA Finals history.
Hard for me to get excited by any team from last ten years.
So many classic teams and players that could be added and people saying there will be a meltdown if the 10 lakers and 11 bulls don't make it?

I dont know how many people are still reading this thread but after sleeping on it I realized the benefit of having the 15-16 Warriors is you can include them and the 11-12 Thunder in an All-Time Superteams myleague (which tons of people do) without having 2 Durants or having to remove a Durant. Just a silver lining on a pick people seem to be unhappy with :)
Again, for the 100th million time:
No team is taking the spot of another team, 2k has already put together 16 more teams for our benefit based on the rights to the players that they have been able to secure. Therefore, it is not a waste, nor is it lazy to be given the teams we have/are being given.
"I could make these teams on my own" NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO.
"They better have Grant Hill's Pistons or I'll throw a big baby hissy fit..." what if the TEAM isn't on the roster, but Grant Hill is sitting there on the All-Time Pistons roster? They you REALLY CAN make the team on your own! HOW NICE HUH??
"Classic" doesn't mean 50's, doesn't mean successful (Vince Carter Raptors have already shown that), doesn't mean historic. We're getting into the semantics of what a "classic" team should be defined as.
Every team SHOULD have a classic team, doesn't mean that every classic team added was historic because not every franchise has one a title. Knicks are ICONIC, but should they only have their title team on the game?
"I'd like 09 Magic!!" Well that means we don't get a 60's team likely does it? Is the 09 Magic classic? To some, yes.
We get 30-All Time Franchise teams... just because the 1 in 2000 options for your team doesn't happen to be a full roster (you don't want 6 players and 9 John Smith's right? You'd throw a HUGE fit over that right?) that doesn't mean you won't have the KEY stars at least on the All-Time Greats teams to construct the year you want.
So... settle down and think things through... before you turn into a twitter model.
Big chance not every franchise gets a classic team so I'd understand if some of those fans would be very disappointed. Some teams we will never get because too many players' rights cannot be secured, which explains the few pre-90s teams. I will say though with Duncan retired a championship Spurs team is a must, especially because most players rights can be had easily or are already secured. So I get people being upset at two Grizzlies teams, 2 Heat and or 2 Warriors teams IF that means 1) a franchise misses out and or 2) an easy to create team and unanimously perceived classic like 2007 Spurs wouldn't make it.
    LeBronistheKing

Sorry but you can't say 2015 wasn't fair and square and then say 2016 was. You can't pretend our injuries didn't happen or that BS suspension at the perfect time. Nah. It's just hypocritical. Also a chase down block isn't the greatest defensive play in history lol, you're just biased. By the way, winning again in 4-1 fashion (the way it should have been) absolutely felt great. I hope we win one more against the Cavs so we can relive the 3-1 memes. Just in a different way. :)

So Stephen Curry healthy enough to play every game, Andre Iguodola hobbled in the last three games, but on the court, Bogut healthy for games 1 through 5 and injured for two remaining games, and Draymond Green suspended for one game and then playing the remaining games 6 and 7.....
Is equal to Kevin Love being inactive the entire series in 2015, Kyrie Irving getting injured in game 1 and thus being inactive for the remaining 5 games of the series?
You are actually arguing that a "injured" yet still playing two time reigning MVP is somehow a bigger or at least equal disadvantage to losing Kyrie Irving entirely for all but one game of the 2015 Finals?
You are actually arguing that losing Draymond Green for one game due to suspension then gaining him back fully healthy for the remaining two games after he had played the previous 4 games healthy is somehow a bigger or at least equal disadvantage to losing Kevin Love for the entire duration of the 6 Finals games in 2015?
BS suspension? He was assessed a technical foul for making contact with LeBron's crotch this time with his hand rather than his feet or legs as he had been throughout the 2016 season and playoffs particularly the previous series against Oklahoma City, where he had racked up technical fouls and by the time that game 4 of the NBA Finals comes around, and he is one technical foul away from suspension and the incident in question happens he is assessed a technical and is suspended. Did you and Draymond want special treatment you became accustomed to during the playoffs (particularly against the Thunder in the previous series) in regards to their treatment of Green's antics and blatant non basketball play instances of physically kicking opponents in the crotch? This is supposed to be an all time great team with the best regular season in NBA history. Why exactly did they need so many things to go their way and why does their fanbase feel simultaneously entitled and persecuted? ...
.Meaning, why does their fanbase feel like
    Entitled
"We are the greatest team of all time and we shouldn't have any competition " "the only way we could ever lose is if we were cheated "
    Persecuted
"It's not fair that the NBA would suspend one of our players for a valid warranted reason for suspension, there must be a conspiracy against us"
    Back to...
    Entitled
"Steph Curry had to be injured to play poorly in the Finals against the Cavaliers" (Nevermind Curry played similarly against the Cavaliers in the 2015 Finals against a severely depleted Cavaliers or that Curry has appeared in 3 Finals and has never won Finals MVP in either of them or has even yet to match much less exceed his averages in the three regular seasons prior to his NBA Finals) but facts have no place here...
Where was the MVP in 2015? Where was the MVP in 2016? Where was the MVP in 2017?
In 2015 the MVP was stifled by a role player and outplayed by nearly everyone on the court including his own reserve teammate
In 2016 the MVP was thoroughly outplayed by his counterpart, Kyrie Irving and dominated in every quantifiable metric by LeBron James.
In 2017 the MVP had a Finals where he played second and sometimes third fiddle and was little more than a sidekick to Kevin Durant, the player that Golden State had to recruit because big bad mean LeBron was mean and beat them when they were "supposed to win" the previous Finals. And because "everyone and everything was against them in a massive NBA conspiracy (even though the NBA and the sporting world in general including basketball media outlets, had an overwhelming love affair with the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry)
I forgot the revisionist history you told yourself in order to feel better about losing in 2016 doesn't allow for the fact that during the 2016 season, everywhere you looked and anyone you listened to from casual fans to NBA beat writers and analysts were fawning over Stephen Curry and annoiting him as the second coming. You forget about the Jordan comparisons? You forget about the first unanimous MVP in league history? Not Jordan, not LeBron, not Kobe, not Magic, not Karreem, not Wilt, not Shaq...no Curr. You forget about how everyone talked about Curry usurping LeBron as the best in the world?
No it benefitted the league and the sport for the Warriors to wim and to further the Warriors and Curry's brand. The NBA is a business. Curry had the highest selling jersey. His fanbase and bandwaggon was huge.
Someone with that level of hype, and that level of accolades should have firstly, had better performances in the NBA Finals
Secondly, should have no excuses nor need any excuses to validate or invalidate his greatness
And thirdly, shouldn't have to rely on a perfect set of circumstances in order to win a series nearly the entire NBA world saw as a mere formality to crowning the Warriors the greatest team of all time.
And finally and more succinctly, yes LeBron James's chasedown block on Andre Iguodola is arguably the greatest defensive play in NBA Finals history. LeBron doesn't make that block Golden State likely wins.
In 2015 the Warriors were the best team all season, healthy Cavs or not, there is no indication that the Cavs would've won that year.
Stephen Curry averaged 26 ppg and led the Warriors when looking at advanced stats for the 2015 finals. Award or not, he was the most valuable player on that team in the finals.

I still want to know why the Grizzlies have two classic teams over the rest of the league.

The grizz were one of the few teams that didnt have 1...you need to count the original teams also. Trust me i wanted the both the knicks and heat squads they added this year but they didnt much more the the grizz either. Look it up.

As Abridged Vegeta would say, "Oh, I'm being ignored."
Clearly, we're just going to go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, and its second cousin thrice removed, 3-1.
    Who are the champions?
    Are. Present tense.

Yeah I'm not even gonna bother to read his long winded and biased hypocritical post. :) I'll end the discussion here.

What a surprise that you are essentially putting your fingers in your ears and saying "la la la I'm not listening" whenever someone presents a coherent opposing position. Gotta make sure we protect that revisionist history for our fragile teams fragile fanbase. Funny how you claim the post is "bias and hypocritical " yet you aren't going to bother reading it. How can you know the content of a post you haven't read? Unless you either did read it and still disagree with facts. Or didn't read it, but assume your superiority. Both seem entirely plausible, as both are in line with exactly what I was talking about in my original post and the entitled, pompous, arrogant, and victimized attitude of not only the Golden State Warriors team but some of their insufferable fanbase as well. It's not enough to just say "good job congratulations on getting the best of us in the 2016 Finals ". Even when I, myself acknowledge that 2017 they beat Cleveland fair and square. No it's "No we deserve credit fof 2017 and we deserve credit for 2015 and we should have won in 2016" .
    You have proven my point.
Funny how Draymond Green being suspended for 1 game is a big issue.
But in 2014-15 Finals, JR Smith was suspended for the 1st two games and literally no one mentions it lol.

You might be confusing the timing of his suspension, which happened against the Bulls for the 1st two games. He was suspended for his backhand swing to Crowder's face in the game 4 sweep of Boston.
That said, Kyrie and Love missing pretty much the entire series in 2015 is a bigger blow than every mishap for GSW in 2016 combined. That's their 2nd and 3rd best player. Can you imagine how the Warriors would do againt a fully healthy Cavs without Klay and Draymond the entire series? I would call it a sweep.
Bogut (who played the first 5 games) and Iguodala (who played the entire series) would fall somewhere around 6th and 4th best respectively. Green's suspension is of his own fault, whether it was justified or not. Curry's injuries were never a concern when they dominated and came back against OKC. It only popped up when they blew the 3-1 lead because Warrior fans were looking for many reasons to justify the choke job that took place. Well that along with the fact that Kyrie and LeBron took their souls.
And for the record, that wasn't a rematch. Replacing Barnes with KD nullified that claim instantly. That's like dropping the difficulty from HOF to Rookie against the CPU then bragging about the W like you earned it.
    Come at me.

You're right on that, my bad, damn my history has been off as of late.
Oh I'm with you entirely, JR swiped at Crowder's face and Draymond beat someone up every round of those playoffs, then swiped at LeBron's sack lol probably thought since they were up 3-1 it wouldn't make a difference. ;)

I move that the mods just lock this damn thing.
Clearly we're not talking about 2K anymore.

Seconded. Whole lotta petty going on. I guess I, and all Warriors fans, are bad people. Forgive me Cleveland overlords, clearly the Cavaliers are gods gift to basketball. I feel like I'm browsing Facebook comments or Twitter. Let's get back to this lovely video game.
