[PC] After the locked 30fps frame rate of Rivals, and the control issues with The Run, NFS franchise needs to sit for a while and then do a fresh reboot around 2019.

I loved playing undercover. The graphics look better. 7 because of storyline.

Edited: Need for Speed: The Run is a new approach to the NFS series. They have put in out of car experiences. Now you can control your driver out of the car. Much like the Heavy Rain game, it's sequences of buttons to push in time. It is a different and fresh approach. The story mode is somewhat interesting, but it has some flaws.

Gameplay

The Run functions much like other NFS games. It has a pretty solid system in place and uses what all the other games did well. The new collision system and Frostbite 2.0 is welcomed edition to a racing game.

The Runs gameplay does get very frustrating. I have been pushed off the road out of play or ran into something countless times, which isn't horrible. It adds some sort of difficulty and strategy, however it is a very risky part of the game. I was looking for new controller deals while playing just in case.

The game does a couple things well and fails in some regards. I feel like the off road system might be great to some people and bad to others. Who here knows what it's like to drive 90+ mph in a sports car? The slippery driving and lack of steering might be realistic, but it might not be.

Another annoying thing I found was that the resets happen at random times. I will barely be off the road and it will randomly reset me. Resets also take about 10-15 seconds to load up, which adds up on some points.

Some of the collision system is flawed. I shouldn't be running over trees and smashing walls without taking damage. However, the crash system that decides whether you total your car or not is pretty good.

Overall, I find the gameplay as a pretty fun experience. The game in gameplay parts is passable. There are frustrating moments, but most games have those.

Presentation

The graphics in The Run are amazing. The models look great and the tracks and environments look awesome as well. The cars all look very nice and much to true form.

The sound lacks a bit, but it can surprise you at times. I would say the big thing that is lacking in this game is the sound.

The menu's are easy to navigate as well and are clear.

Story

The story in The Run is based off a man trying to pay off his debt by racing across the US. Personally, this is a genius idea. Putting parts of the US in a racing game is awesome. They did a pretty good job on the cities and they are recognizable.

The story does get repetitive. There's only about 3 or 4 racing modes and they get stale. If you play the game often, you'll notice it more and probably lose interest. After a while, it gets back to what it was at first.
