  1. Even as a DD player, it's hard to care about this stream tbh, seems like a waste of time. I already know who the best players in baseball are so who will be a diamond seems pretty obvious. The fact that they've nerfed live series players so much that they are pretty irrelevant anyway doesn't help either, there'll probably only be a handful that are usable after a month or so, if that.
Feels like a waste of a stream, that could be used with releasing actual, helpful information that might make people interested in buying the game, but I guess they figure kids like cards with high numbers on them so that will be more effective.
I'm not sitting on the edge of my seat here waiting for the stream. But, sometimes these "meh" streams can yield little nuggets of info.
That said, this stream does have a bit more relevance this year. Since minor leaguers are already in, the default roster will be (unless you're one of those "mUsT miMIc rEaL liFe PeRfecTlY" people) what we use on 3/13 to start our keeper franchises and RTTS careers.

There are people who are interested in other game modes than what you're interested in. I'm not one of them but they're not going to tailor to your needs on every stream.

The fact that I play DD is literally the first part of my comment?

So what's the point of you complaining about the stream?

He wasn’t complaining. He was giving his initial thoughts on his excitement level for this stream.

I agree with the “meh” sentiment. I will tune in if I am around. This stream seems like one of those business meetings that really should just be an email.

LMAO....I totally know what you mean there - not a bad analogy at all.

As an aside, while they are calling this "Diamond Club", if this mimics last year, this is really a "Who will have the highest ratings at launch for MLB The Show 20" stream (if you ask me, "Diamond Club" sounds a little cooler).
That's not just a DD thing even though they are using DD nomenclature for the stream title.
Every year the release of various Madden Ratings is a giant thing. I just view this as the same thing. Do I know who the best players are? Of course. But am I curious to see what the actual ratings are of those players? Absolutely. And who knows, maybe they listened last year and the Live players will carry more weight.

Not a whole lot for me in this stream since it's all ratings and discussion about the best Live Series players, but they did confirm that HR/9 once again does not affect gameplay (or overall rating).
They're showing the DD versions of these ratings, which means that the individual ratings can go over 100 (99 is still the offline modes max).

So whats does hr/9 actually do? lol

It affects pitchers tendencies to give up HR's in sims (including quick manage stuff - basically anytime you're not actually seeing a pitch in real time). It has no effect on real-time gameplay.
At launch last year, HR/9 had this sort of effect during actual gameplay. It was reverted in a mid-cycle patch. So there was some question whether they'd bring that effect back for '20, but it appears not.

    Thanks for that!
Not trying to offend anyone.. but this had to be the most useless stream lol They could of at least accompanied the player cards with an in game player model.. Something !! lol
I mean what is to say about DD?? you get cards you pay real money for them if your stupid enough. you grind you grind you grind you grind, just like every monetized mode in sports games it's designed to bore you to death but make it addicting enough for you to spend real money instead of waiting. it's the 'world of warcraft' of sports games that's killing our sports game.
anyhow I miss stuff like the little things streams we never know we might get a few things that we are not suppose to pick up on during the stream.
I didn’t think I’d get much out of this stream but I learned that a 60 rating in attributes is the major league average

I had hoped for a new legend reveal, but instead they revealed a legend we already knew about.

60 for overall, or each category?

Some other tidbits that may/may not be new information:
-Hitting ratings verus righties are weighed more heavily than versus lefties in overall calculation
-Players in secondary positions take 5 percent hit at reaction, fielding and arm accuracy
-SDS uses a three year average with a 1:1:1 ratio when calculating ratings for the release day roster
-There is continued emphasis on advanced metrics in their ratings calculations; this is the 2nd year of this emphasis I believe
-Pitch framing metrics are taken into account for catchers. It appears those calculations are factored into the fielding attribute.

DD is the least money-hungry of the modes out there in the landscape at least. I think it's the one where you 100 percent don't need to spend a dime and the grind doesn't feel nearly as crappy to get there either. I mean they for sure still want your money, but it feels like they want you to get there more by a level of appreciation than frustration in comparison to the other versions.

I mean if you actually played DD in 19 you'd know that it's by far the least grindy ultimate team mode of the sports games and that it's easy to get good cards early without spending money, and there's a variety of ways to get them. Just because you don't like the mode doesn't mean it's not a quality mode.

Honestly, I thought 19's DD mode was a disappointment because it wasn't grindy enough. 18's was WAY better in that regard.
(But I am also speaking as someone who doesn't touch any online stuff...)

I always thought the average for Power was somewhere closer to 50. at least in past years. maybe they've done a revamp on their attributes formula because also in the past I thought averages for most other attributes was closer to 65.

I am hoping they bring in a mix of the grind form 18 and the system in 19. It did feel too easy at times to get the really good (non BR) cards. But thankfully its not the money grab that EA's UT modes are.

Agree with this. Granted I usually only play offline, but my frustration with DD this past year in 19 was that I barely ever played with my actual team in the offline modes besides conquest, so I found myself wondering why I was spending all this time getting cards that I wouldn’t even use that much.
