I agree. If I knew what Next Gen Madden was about, I would jump on this deal even though I haven't bought Madden in a very long time. $30 for a next gen game is almost too good to pass up.
We still don't have a release date for next gen Madden I think. With a month left until next gen, Madden has to start talking about next gen soon
Nba 2k21 is also 34.99 on Amazon.

I was going to get 2K because of their next gen trailer but it looks like there's no free upgrade for next gen from them. Bit of a bummer.

Just from a value perspective, the $29.99 deal is extremely tempting just because of the free next gen upgrade for Madden 21. But as of now, I have no plans on getting next gen Madden 21 unless I'm blown away or at the very least know game is heading in right direction
On the other hand, if this was 2k21 and it had a free next gen upgrade, I wouldn't even hesitate to take advantage of this deal even though I don't currently have a current gen console. It's bogus that 2k choose that route. But to stay on topic, I wished I felt the same way for Madden. I have more blind faith in the other game delivering than I do in Madden

Exactly where I'm at. I'd love to get it for PS5 for $30 but if it's nothing more than slightly enhanced graphics I'd rather play on PC anyways.
If anything at all, gameplay, feature wise, big or small is better than current gen than I'd gladly spend the $30.
The complete silence and the knowledge of how it went down PS3 to PS4 tells me I'd be throwing away $30 I'm afraid.

Exactly.
The main thing is that they are pretty much giving the game away now. There isn't any incentive as of now to pay full price for the next gen version since current gen allows a free next gen upgrade.
I think alot of people fear that it will be a higher fidelity port that takes advantage of next gen hardware. That isn't enough for me. I don't want Madden 21 with a fresh coat of paint and faster loading and better audio
The last sentence is why I will wait. We're just seeing earlier sales this season. That's why I am willing to be patient for any purchases until early to mid November. We'll see Madden 21 for $29.99 this time next month as it has been for last several years. NBA 2k21 is on sale for $40 now, but I'm sure that'll get to $29.99 as well next month.
I expect to hear something within next 2 weeks regarding next gen.

Same. This morning.
"NO CHANCE IN [email protected]!!..."
At this point I’ll wait until around the Super Bowl when madden is usually on sale, and see what next gen has to offer.
Really good point, there was no free upgrade for Madden 25 when the PS4 released but it was clear that ps5 version had better graphics and “true step” while the ps3 version didnt.
All we’ve heard about madden 21 on next gen is better sidelines and haptic feedback on controllers.
The reception this game got at release also bothers me. I just can’t pull the trigger even at this price and with my preordered ps5 already paid off.

I remember that garbage all to well. The craziness this time is that EA doesn't really have any features to lose on this jump because they still haven't even put the features from the PS2 version back into the game.
Yeah exactly. I may have been thinking of the Madden 08 to Madden 09 next-gen “jump” which was nightmarish. So many features that either never came back (like vision cone and training drills) or took forever to do so (like weapons).
I know I watched a video where someone said EA created a Franchise engine FranTik so they wouldn't have to keep losing features that wouldn't transfer over. They really havent lost any features like that since start of generation. The problem is they don't add much and if they do they abandon it after year 1.
I rather them rebuild Franchise from the ground up anyway. There isn't anything with Franchise that I LOVE and want them to transfer as is to next gen. Every major aspect of Franchise needs an overhaul. So there's nothing I'm concerned about losing heading into next gen
Its nice.
I mean, this probably isn't EA's/Madden's fault, but still. The fact it's happening on this title just feels appropriate. So now I'm downloading the game through EA Play for the 10 hr trial to see what options it gives me to purchase it.
I'm not a tech guy at all, but I can't help but think it shouldn't be this darn hard to GIVE them my $$$. lol
Edit: Downloaded the game through EA Play. Let it install. Tried loading the game from inside and outside EA Play, but it freezes on "SHOWTIME!". SMH.
