Madden NFL 21 Currently on Sale at Amazon For $29.99, MVP Edition is 50% Off - Free Upgrade to Next-Gen

Amazon currently has Madden NFL 21 on sale for $29.99 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The MVP Edition is currently $49.99, already 50% off the original price.

Through partnerships with Sony and Microsoft, EA SPORTS will offer Dual Entitlement, creating ways for players who purchase either an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 to upgrade their copy of Madden NFL 21 from prior generation Xbox One or PlayStation 4 platforms at no additional cost. This offer will be in place all the way through the Madden NFL 21 season, up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade whenever they first purchase their new console within that period. Offer exceptions apply. Physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles. Visit ea.com/nextlevel for more information.

Ever since some of the Madden NFL 21 next-gen details and features were revealed in June, EA has been tight lipped about it. If you missed it, here are some of the Madden NFL 21 next-gen details and features.

  • Controller Haptics – Sense the impact of shots, passes, catches, kicks, tackles, and hits with immersive controller haptics. A new DualSense controller on PlayStation®5 with rich and responsive haptic feedback deepens the gameplay experience letting you feel the rhythm of the game in your hands.
  • Blazing Fast Load Times – Faster load times get you in the game quicker than ever. Never lose focus as stadium environments will load with unprecedented speed, letting you get to the kick-off in seconds.
  • Deferred Lighting and Rendering – Authentic new environments, unlocked by a new deferred lighting system create ultra-realistic football experiences and player fidelity, enhancing the game in every part of the stadium.
  • Reimagined Player Bodies – Next-gen technology creates deeper definition in player physiques, while dynamic lighting accentuates details such as faces, hair, kits, and uniforms to take athletes to a whole new level of realism.
  • Spatialized Audio – Whether you’re running out of the tunnel in Atlanta or leaping into the stands in Green Bay, hear the spine-tingling roar of the stadium thanks to spatialized audio technology new to Madden that wraps around you for a completely immersive experience.

  1. This is a great deal considering that there is a free next gen upgrade. I doubt the Black Friday deal would be better than this. So this is potentially $29.99 for a next gen game. Just wished EA would start talking about next gen. This is something I would seriously consider getting since it would be $29.99 now and I could take advantage of the free upgrade
waiting till after the 5 drop for nxt gen but good deal for those who are staying with ps4. Dont know if they offer a free upgrade or not, i forgot

Tempting. But I just can’t pull the trigger without knowing what’s going on with next gen. Which is probably why they’re trying to get people to bite on this deal
EA Play on GPU is more than enough for me

I agree. If I knew what Next Gen Madden was about, I would jump on this deal even though I haven't bought Madden in a very long time. $30 for a next gen game is almost too good to pass up.
We still don't have a release date for next gen Madden I think. With a month left until next gen, Madden has to start talking about next gen soon

Hmm think I'll jump on this.
Nba 2k21 is also 34.99 on Amazon.

I was going to get 2K because of their next gen trailer but it looks like there's no free upgrade for next gen from them. Bit of a bummer.

Just from a value perspective, the $29.99 deal is extremely tempting just because of the free next gen upgrade for Madden 21. But as of now, I have no plans on getting next gen Madden 21 unless I'm blown away or at the very least know game is heading in right direction
On the other hand, if this was 2k21 and it had a free next gen upgrade, I wouldn't even hesitate to take advantage of this deal even though I don't currently have a current gen console. It's bogus that 2k choose that route. But to stay on topic, I wished I felt the same way for Madden. I have more blind faith in the other game delivering than I do in Madden
I am switching over to Xbox next gen, so I went for it. They've done a good job with consistent patches, and the franchise update should drop around release day.

Exactly where I'm at. I'd love to get it for PS5 for $30 but if it's nothing more than slightly enhanced graphics I'd rather play on PC anyways.
If anything at all, gameplay, feature wise, big or small is better than current gen than I'd gladly spend the $30.
The complete silence and the knowledge of how it went down PS3 to PS4 tells me I'd be throwing away $30 I'm afraid.

    Exactly.
The main thing is that they are pretty much giving the game away now. There isn't any incentive as of now to pay full price for the next gen version since current gen allows a free next gen upgrade.
I think alot of people fear that it will be a higher fidelity port that takes advantage of next gen hardware. That isn't enough for me. I don't want Madden 21 with a fresh coat of paint and faster loading and better audio
For those of you on the fence about the next gen upgrade. Amazons holiday return policy allows you to return items until January 31st. It started October 1st. So if you wanna jump on the deal now to secure a copy and just wait and see, then the return window is your out if the upgrade isn’t much. But this deal likely comes back around during black Friday anyway.

The last sentence is why I will wait. We're just seeing earlier sales this season. That's why I am willing to be patient for any purchases until early to mid November. We'll see Madden 21 for $29.99 this time next month as it has been for last several years. NBA 2k21 is on sale for $40 now, but I'm sure that'll get to $29.99 as well next month.
I expect to hear something within next 2 weeks regarding next gen.
Man, EA hasn’t mentioned the next gen version of Madden and we’re about a month away for the release of the bee consoles. Even NBA 2k released a sizable video of their next generation version. Even with this current deal, until we (I) know what the “next generation” of Madden will look and play like, even at $30 I’m not really interested.
Like some others here I remember the last console jump from PS3 to PS4 and how Madden got much better graphics but lost a ton of features. Not looking for that “deal” again.
I had Madden for free for almost a month and I wasn't impressed so I think I'll pass.  Speaking on the next gen Madden (FIFA as well) I'm getting a feeling they're not going to be much of an upgrade, especially with EA being so quiet and also giving them away for free if you buy the current gen games.  That's not a good sign.
I was going to get it for the 30 bucks and just let it sit there until the next gen upgrade was available but I just can’t bring myself to do it, especially considering how little they have said and more importantly shown of next gen.
At this point I’ll wait until around the Super Bowl when madden is usually on sale, and see what next gen has to offer.

Really good point, there was no free upgrade for Madden 25 when the PS4 released but it was clear that ps5 version had better graphics and “true step” while the ps3 version didnt.
All we’ve heard about madden 21 on next gen is better sidelines and haptic feedback on controllers.
This makes me feel like Madden 21 isn’t doing as well as they lead on. $29 and a free upgrade to next gen when the league is only 5 weeks into the season. Something just doesn’t seem right and the silence about next gen that’s less than a month away doesn’t help either.
The reception this game got at release also bothers me. I just can’t pull the trigger even at this price and with my preordered ps5 already paid off.

I remember that garbage all to well. The craziness this time is that EA doesn't really have any features to lose on this jump because they still haven't even put the features from the PS2 version back into the game.

Yeah exactly. I may have been thinking of the Madden 08 to Madden 09 next-gen “jump” which was nightmarish. So many features that either never came back (like vision cone and training drills) or took forever to do so (like weapons).

I know I watched a video where someone said EA created a Franchise engine FranTik so they wouldn't have to keep losing features that wouldn't transfer over. They really havent lost any features like that since start of generation. The problem is they don't add much and if they do they abandon it after year 1.
I rather them rebuild Franchise from the ground up anyway. There isn't anything with Franchise that I LOVE and want them to transfer as is to next gen. Every major aspect of Franchise needs an overhaul. So there's nothing I'm concerned about losing heading into next gen
