When it was announced in early May, that Xbox One users could upgrade their Xbox One version of Madden NFL 21 to the Xbox Series X version for free with EA’s Dual Entitlement, it was met with some disappointment. There were a couple of rules involved. Gamers had to purchase Madden NFL 21 on the Xbox One by December 31, 2020 and upgrade to the Xbox Series X version by March 31, 2021.
EA has updated their Madden NFL 21 Next Level page with an update, thanks to Polygon for the heads up, we see you Samit.
Of course PlayStation fans were also disappointed when the announcement was made, but EA does mention on the page that details for other platforms are coming soon.
UPDATE: (6-16) Through partnerships with Sony and Microsoft, EA SPORTS will offer Dual Entitlement, creating ways for players who purchase either an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 to upgrade their copy of Madden NFL 21 from prior generation Xbox One or PlayStation 4 platforms at no additional cost. This offer will be in place all the way through the Madden NFL 21 season, up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade whenever they first purchase their new console within that period. Offer exceptions apply. Physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles. Visit ea.com/
