NHL 19 Patch 1.20 Available Now - Patch Notes Here

NHL 19 patch 1.20 is available now, check out the patch notes below and let us know what you’re seeing.

Hockey Ultimate Team

  • Added a new Autofill mechanic to Sets to improve the Set redemption flow
    • You can now Autofill your sets with one of two options:
      • Autofill
      • Autofill Duplicates only
    • You will be able to confirm the completion, should you want to swap any items out.
  • Added Quick Apply options for Contract and Healing items
    • You will now be able to quickly apply contracts and healing items to your players through the “Apply Consumables” option in the Edit Lineup flow.
  • Added OT lines as editable lines
  • Updated Auction House and Collection Search Flow
    • You will now be able to set and change your search filters in the same screen that you view the items in the Auction House or Collection Search
  • Added Position labels to edit lines to indicate what position a card is playing in.

World of CHEL

  • Added Private Matchmaking PIN to Drop-in and Club Dressing Rooms (feature to replace old Club Challenge system) MORE INFO
  • Online Player Indicators setting will now showing 6 unique colors for the opposing team rather than showing the same colors as your own team to prevent confusion
  • Fixed an issue in Drop-in where when a user sometimes joined an existing session from matchmaking it would prevent all users from entering gameplay
  • Fixed an issue where the game can crash for some users who remain in a 6v6 Clubs game once the game has fallen below the minimum number of users
  • Fixed an intro cut scene issue in Pro-Am where the crowd would pop into the scene
  • Fixed an issue where unlockable preset goal horns weren’t triggering in Pro-Am games
  • Fixed an issue where unlockable goal horns do not play when scoring as the away team in 3v3 Drop-in

  • More accurate TOI/G for European prospects
  • Updated Amateur Scouting Strengths and Weakness reports to reduce the amount of Reach weaknesses generated

    Yes, very nice list. Between NHL and Madden this year, my console is back to being used on a daily basis.
    Just waiting on the next roster update and it's time to start my Blues franchise!
    Am I crazy or did they nerf the cpu skating a bit? I feel like they don't turn and get to loose pucks as quickly. Everything feels more even. Anyone else have this impression so far? Also feels like the AI puck carrier reactions/invulnerability bubble has been tuned down.

    It's the same as it's been for years, you have to download the newest roster to get the jerseys.

    Blues alternate not showing up either, which they will once they release the next roster update maybe on Friday.
    I played one game post patch and this is the best EA NHL game "out of the box" that I have ever played. I lost 4-2 against Winnipeg but it was an exciting and realistic game of hockey!
    The CPU teammate AI has really improved in 19, I see them taking the body, covering the open players in the slot, making smart decisions, etc.. Also, the goalies seem to really have great positioning and you have to pick your spots to score goals.
    I have my fingers crossed they leave the game alone as far as gameplay goes, for me it seems about perfect right out of the box on default AS, 8 minute periods and all penalty sliders maxed.
    Barbashev got rocked by a Winnipeg player and usually he would lay on the ice due to an injury but he popped up and looked dazed and they blew the whistle to stop play.. I don't remember seeing that before. I had outshot them 12-3 in the first period but like most real NHL games, Winnipeg turned up the intensity in the 2nd period and I was on my heels most of the period. Really fun game!
    Didn't play with the update yet, but as i can see, two things that bother me, weren't included.
    1. offline franchise mode AI players are faster than mine. I can understand, that the guy with the puck is a bit slower but that should be addressed on the other way around also. When i chase the AI guy with the puck, i could catch up with him eventualy
    2. AI can poke check from behind and every single time i get pushed ahead and loose the puck. When i try to do the same, it usualy results in tripping or some other penalty.
    Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but otherwise as i mentioned in other topic, the game is great and can't stop playing.

    Not a huge deal, but annoying anyway....any word on the Power Play stat fix? Right now, it only shows how many power plays you had, not how many goals you scored.
    Something that was fixed , but not specifically mentioned in the patch notes is that they fixed the lightning. Blonde hair finally looks blonde now instead of dark brown.

    Yes every team has released there roster, but in order for some players to be added, such as some ncaa players etc. They need to play one nhl regular season game before they are apart of the nhlpa - and the Nhl game can only use players in the nhlpa, so they must wait

    I know thats been the rule, but I find it odd that Madden comes out before week one and all the rookies are in it.

    I enjoy it but I can't get opposing teams to score on me. The most goals I give up is maybe 2 and that is rare and I usually double up the CPU in shots. Thats on AS with no slider adjustments. And it's Jake Allen in net so we know he shouldn't be shutting everyone out.
    Was hoping to get pom pom toque to appear for goalies in 3 vs 3 or 6 vs 6 and be able to have hats appear for female players, but a really good update and the best of the NHL series in a long time. I'm playing everyday and look forward to it.
    I need to give the Franchise guys some serious props. They've fixed and tuned pretty much everything I had an issue with. Even went above and beyond and switched salary cap off during pre-season—so I can play whatever lineup I want without running into weird and unrealistic restrictions. Not used to this level of attention and detail in an era of Ultimate Team.

    Didn't play with the update yet, but as i can see, two things that bother me, weren't included.
    1. offline franchise mode AI players are faster than mine. I can understand, that the guy with the puck is a bit slower but that should be addressed on the other way around also. When i chase the AI guy with the puck, i could catch up with him eventualy
    2. AI can poke check from behind and every single time i get pushed ahead and loose the puck. When i try to do the same, it usualy results in tripping or some other penalty.
    Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but otherwise as i mentioned in other topic, the game is great and can't stop playing.

    These are my only issues. I don't get how others are getting past this. For the ones really enjoying the game, are you guys just ignoring this part of the game? How is this not frustrating?
    I think the issues with cpu reaction ability, reaction time both with and without the puck, and their ability to engage you physically at a ridiculous range are vastly improved with the patch. It's almost like the cpu wasn't using a lot of the new blends and pivots before, and now they do. I continue to be very impressed with how much positive change has occurred with this patch.

    Yes every team has released there roster, but in order for some players to be added, such as some ncaa players etc. They need to play one nhl regular season game before they are apart of the nhlpa - and the Nhl game can only use players in the nhlpa, so they must wait

    An underage player can be sent back to junior before playing his 10th NHL game. If they play that 10th game the first year of their 3 year entry level contract is burned. Rosters aren't really finalized until after the 9 game threshold, therefore EA doesn't put out the official roster until those moves have been completed. It's been this way forever.

    This is great news! FIFA feels this way too this year, not so much in the Career Mode department but definitely in the on field gameplay department. I'm really shocked at how much attention was put into gameplay issues this year, stuff as simple as the size of the ball have finally been fixed. I think it's because One, some countries are starting to crack down on Ultimate Team as an illegal form of gambling and two, I don't have anything to prove it but I feel Ultimate Team may finally be starting to lose it's charm with some of it's audience, and EA will have to start paying attention to offline modes in its games again to make up profit.
    Anyways, firing NHL up right now, can't wait to try out the patch!

    I can't tell a difference. Sometimes it seems the cpu is a bit more aggressive, and your team is a bit more inept. Maybe that has something to do with the morale system? But it's more or less the same in my experience.
    I'm also really happy we finally got Adidas jersey templates. They did a good job giving us a ton of them (even the Coyotes kachina one), and they also did a good job cleaning up and polishing all the custom logos and letters. They were sort of muddy and lower quality than others unis in the game in the past, but they've fixed them up and added stitching and thread details that make them look great.

    That's great! Now if only they would let us use custom jerseys with real NHL teams, i.e. a white kachina for the Yotes...

    Heh, i try to avoid those situations as much as possible and for now, since i am 'fresh' owner of nhl 19 copy, try to enjoy in other aspects that are made better than 17 version. Then, after i concede a goal on a break after that kind of unfair help, i get annoyed and start doing one mistake after another and after a while i reset the game.:nocomprende:
    But, when i draw the line, i love the game, really do.
    Yesterday, i just start the game so i could play a test franchise game with new patch and i must say i was pleased with the patch. they didn't break anything already working wtih the fixes they made.. That's a good thing.

    I adjusted the puck carrier speed in my franchise and it has helped immensely.
    Still a few times when I get fired up, but it's done wonders.
    First time in a long time I bought back to back and so far enjoying it. BAP is still a favorite and I know they didn't add a ton but so far those TCP for skills is a nice addition. Though I've had the game only since yesterday.
    Can't wait to try Franchise.
    Does anyone know if this patch fixed the issue where if you sent a player to the AHL his NHL stats would not show up on the player stats screen?
    When will they freakin' add legends to the Roster Management screen so that we can put them on their teams, play them in Exhibition or in Franchise mode!!!

I've been critical of this game with past releases but I've thoroughly enjoyed it online and haven't sensed anything that caused me to want to quit a game or chuck a controller. I'll wait for the roster update to drop before I dive into other aspects of the game, but I feel pretty good about an offline franchise mode just based upon how I'm seeing players react. Sure, there will be holes in it, but this is the best EA has done in a long time, IMO.

    I haven't really sunk my teeth into an NHL game for pretty much the entire life of this current console gen... Had been a yearly staple for me going back almost 20 years.
    I've tried them all, I think, but without getting too long winded, there was always something off enough to prevent me from catching my yearly video game hockey bug.
    Maybe I've just played so little over the last few years that this engine is starting to feel fresh again, but I really have enjoyed playing randoms in Versus so far. Will definitely be giving franchise a go if nothing else.

    The uniforms show up in the bottom of the jersey select screen. So, now there are about 70 jerseys to choose from

    Not sure what you are talking about, the only jerseys are the ones the game shipped with. The new ones aren’t in yet

    Are you using morale system? On NHL 18 those two thing were problems with morale system enabled. And it goes to your way also, if you start winning at playoffs, your players seems little faster and better on every aspect.
    Only advise i have based on NHL 18, is to drop CPU acceleration 1-3 number lovers than your players. Dont know if it works on NHL 19.
    Patch notes seems good, specially on Franchise mode. Hopefully i can buy NHL 19 from PSN on some sale at december.

    Tnx for the advice, will check it today. Might be on, cause i didn't touch league settings except the period length so morale might be on.
    Altough as i can agree morale influence on faster skating somewhat i don't believe it's the case for checking from behind. Whatever i do, i cannot check them the way the ai does it to mine puck carrier...
    I've only played a couple of games since this update, but haven't seen anything alarming from a gameplay perspective; overall it feels similar to when I first picked up the game, so that's a GOOD thing.
    Only change I'm making is bumping up the difficulty to All-Star, and think I'll be good.

    I came here to see if anyone felt this way. Madden, and especially FIFA and NHL all feel really crisp on the gameplay side this year which has made the Franchise modes far more enjoyable even with the minimal improvements made to the modes specifically. For as much crap as EA gets, this is the first year in a while I've done all 3 games at release and I feel good about them all so far. Props to these guys for putting in work this year.
