NBA 2K19 game update 1.08 is available now, check out the patch notes below. All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

As always, many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, so let us know what you’re seeing.

We’ve posted some screenshots of the new hair and likeness updates below as well.

General

  • Updated court floors will now automatically appear in MyCAREER/MyLEAGUE/MyGM save files.  Existing save files we be able to enjoy the updates made year-to-date as well.
  • Users can once again properly edit their lineups on the loading screen when loading into a game.
  • Hair and Likeness updates for: Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, Zach Lavine, Rodney McGruder, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Richaun Holmes.

Gameplay

  • Removed heavy pushing/shoving from Neighborhood games.
  • Reduced ball collisions with lower legs and feet.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause players to sometimes play running off-ball collision sequences when they were standing still.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed on-ball defenders to occasionally pop to a stand while lying on the floor when colliding with the ball handler.
  • Added more variation to AI offensive play calling.
  • Improved the logic and usage of passes out of drives for CPU-controlled players.

Neighborhood

  • Fixed a case where the megaphone would not function as expected on occasion when equipped.

MyGM/MyLEAGUE

  • The PG position is once again visible within the System Proficiency menu.
  • Addressed a hang that would occur when completing the Road To The #1 Pick Playoff Tournament (aka the lottery tournament) when the league had exactly 31 or 35 teams in the league.  Existing saves that were stuck will now be able to continue forward.

Only thing there that really interests me. Tired of seeing these 'defenders' get rewarded for just running at the ball handler. Yeah there are ways around it and the good ball handlers can still get by it but it's still something that shouldn't be in the game.

i agree, ramming into people should be called a foul not a bump steal. see 2k just nerfed it. mistake. dont nerf it. find the logical real life counter to it.
what would happen in real life if defenders kept ramming ball handlers? They would get called for more fouls. " dont just take out the animation. add the realistic negative reward to it. this to me is 2k's biggest issue. they nerf vs fix it. In addition, less loose balls because of this. but that also means you will see more ball handlers dribble through defender's bodies.

Not as bad as the defender blocking a with his midsection on the way down.

Legitimately Lol'd when I played against JJ Reddick in my Online league. He needs to sue them.
But yeah, regarding the patch as a whole, we all know that this was simply to address the VC glitch.
For F*** sake... what did they break this time?!?!?!
since the last update, almost every game the CPU isn't calling timeouts untill the last quarter, which really pieces me off :mad::mad:

Wow timeouts were working perfectly last night. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm downloading the patch now.
Glad to see MyLeague Online is still a priority. Still waiting on those City Jerseys, sponsor patches and courts, figured that's the least they could do.
    It's ok...
*edits 2 different players in quick edit in MLO, they swap heights*
    Yup everythings everything here still.

i was referring to the patch before 1.08 and in quick play mode.
again today i had the chance to play one game... first timeout by the CPU was 2 minutes before halftime when and was down by 14! (superstar level, on 10 min' quarter). :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall
Yuppppp. Just played 3 games. CPU only called timeouts once a game, and each time it was when they were down double digits.
Last night when i played, timeouts were working perfectly. Frustrating as a Myleague/MY GM offline guy
    So let me summarize:
the only thing that they fixed is not mentioned in the patch notes: VC Glitch!!! :D
    Gameplay
Removed heavy pushing/shoving from Neighborhood games.
Why do you have to fix it if it does not belong in the game from the start
Reduced ball collisions with lower legs and feet. Why reduced??? You should noticed it as a foul and basta...no one in the nba just run into the ballhandler and get a steal of it.

AGREED. Removing the blocking fouls after 2K17 was one of the worst gameplay decisions 2K has made--it was a good mechanic for displaying perimeter mismatches, guys who were late and adding more fouls in general. Colliding with offensive players should be an almost blocking foul--you dont get to ram into a guy/stop all of his forward momentum and then swipe the ball way.

It was also a great mechanic for highlighting a mismatch or advantage w/o always resorting to blow-bys.

Just wondering if anyone else notices that after every patch that their game, doesn’t matter which mode will feel like it’s lagging to the point that it hurts your eyes?
    1. Pushing/Shoving is still in the game.
    2. Still can't edit/equip animations while being in MyCourt
    3. Custom shoes still cost 10k even when having the Sneaker endorsement.
    4. Jordan Rec matchmaking is still trash. Multiple PG's and SG's end up on the same team majority of the time.
This patch was a waste of space for the Neighborhood/Park folks.

have you tried a game since patch? I have tried a few and it is an issue for me again.
before the patch it was working fine.
Just script CPU timeouts. In the NBA timeouts are scripted anyway. TV Timeouts are mandatory and occur at ball stoppages after the 7 minute mark.
Let CPU call negative momentum timeouts as they do now IN ADDITION to TV ones to solve this issue?

Game felt exactly the same last night. I swear they lie in these patch notes. Pushing was still in, butt fumbles were still in...

The patch notes said “heavy” pushing was removed. So you can still push but not the big ones? Supposedly you can’t get a foul for pushing because it’s a little push.
Just what I’ve read. But I didn’t even realize there were two pushes.

I did not have this issue in patch 7. Actually the CPU called good amount of timeouts.
2k please fix the timeouts that broke in patch 8. It kills the myleague or mygm modes. Please for the offline folkes we still got another 7 or 8 months till next game

time outs working fine, CPU called every quarter and they not even down double digit. is that when both team dont score for almost 2 minutes and you made a score they will call a timeout.or you made 3 consecutive basket and CPU didnt. CPU will call timeout. happens to me a lot of times.
now please tell me which court was updated?? coz Pacers still look the same. and so is Wolves.

i guess im having mixed results.
I played one game where the CPU called 5 Timeouts total- 2 in 2nd, 2 in 3rd, 1 in 4th- It was a close game in the second, and then my team got hot and blew them out.
I played another game- Where i was being blown out majority of the game- Cut it to 5 Points by the start of the 4th quarter- CPU called 0 timeouts. I never Had the lead once

i thought the cpu was calling time outs about a week ago a bit more frequently, I just read they don't call time outs anymore after the patch. Again, this is just becoming a long term issue 2k refuses to address for fix.

I've played over 100 games on 2k19 and the cpu typically for me won't call any time outs unless I'm up big and most times, never in the 1st quarter. Meaning, if they're leading a game, whether it'd be by 2, or 20, they will never call a time until the end of the game. In my experience playing ,2 to 3 time outs is the max for a full game, and that's being generous and for me, unacceptable. If I'm getting big leads, maybe 4 to 5 time outs. In the old 2k games, they used their time outs regularly in all quarters until they used up all time outs, regardless of most situations. Break out any 2K and that's how it should be. Mind you, I"m only speaking of GM and exhibition mode.

    I like this idea
It's funny. I play with auto timeouts in PNO, and the CPU seems to call them appropriately most times than not. However, I'm not looking for the absolute "perfect" basketball game. I'm starting to believe that people are looking for an exact replica of what they see on TV, but still have their personal opinion of what basketball should be like.
At this point, I just play the game and enjoy it for what it is. 95% of the game is basketball to me, and I'm not going to let myself get worked up on the 5% that not realistic or artistically not accurate.

Good post man!!..I too have never had a problem with TO's being called but I do know that playing on anything less than 10 minutes messes up the cPU logic as the logic has fatigue and situation tied in..I am trying to find out if this patch specifically has messed up the TO logic.

Dumb question. Couldn't the timeouts be merely tied to the coaching profile? I NEVER see anyone mention this when they talk about the CPU timeouts. Some coaches will micromanage every situation while other coaches will allow their players to attempt to play through the runs.
The game does have coaching sliders. I'm just saying.

Once I find a general balance to difficulty and time length to give generally realistic results, I just let it fly.

what does he mean by script time outs?
For national televised games. There are scheduled timeouts. He wants those timeouts in the game. In college basketball they call it the under X amount of time out. So no matter what. When play stops a timeout is called so they can go to commercial break.

None of this is double digit lead...Superstar, 11 minutes per quarter with edited sliders to more realistic outcome turn down all shooting starting from 36 to down to make sure you earn every shot you make with real player%, meter off bcoz i hate seeing that darn meter.

Exactly! I get my beer, grab my controller, and I just let it ride. I was thinking about this the other night, and as gamers we forgot to practice "suspension of disbelief" when it comes to video games. We want realism so bad, that we forget that there still system limitations or generic stuff that happens. I was playing Quantum Break, and I was chuckling to myself how the game was good, but could be "immersion breaking" if you compare to real life like the yellow paint to "mark" your path or the infamous red barrels to shoot for explosions.
When it comes to video games, I just want it to be close to real life, but it doesn't have to be real life. Don't get wrong, if there's something game breaking, I want it fixed. I know that someone will counter with "Well PC mods can do so much better there 2K Sports can". In my eyes, that's the advantage of owning a PC over a console. Historically speaking, modders have always made PC games that much better. When it comes to console games, we just have to take mostly the good with the bad and not expect perfection.

The problem for me with that the CPU doesn’t call timeouts is the fatigue issue. Because 3 more timeouts that the CPU is calling will let my best player more time on the court.

I second this as well. I've never had an issue with timeouts. The CPU calls them where appropriate. Then again, I dont ever count how many or how often. Now I have seen my coach subbing in a center at PG for some reason. I've lost a few games not knowing my timeout situation and calling one when I didn't have it. I'm at the point where I just play and enjoy games as well. I'll make it as "sim" and realistic as possible understanding that it's a game will never be perfect or even accurate, really. I just enjoy the product.

You could post this in pretty much any of the OS sports gaming forums. It must be one of the top things that keep people from enjoying a close but not exact league replica game. I know less about basketball than any of the other sports and I enjoy this game so much. I actually don't play it....i let the CPU play the games out and they look and sound wonderful (CPU v CPU before this last patch get plenty of TOs called early and also appropriately in my view). There are many little things in MLB the Show that can be improved but it is another very enjoyable game. I didn't like the last few iterations of Madden and could not get over the issue of extremely short punts into the wind, so I went back to an older version that has flaws but not enough to dissuade me from enjoying the game and my own personal league. I'm sure if I were better versed in the NBA I'd find things I'd say just don't seem right but overall I take it as a game and I really enjoy it, maybe more than baseball and football.
Now I do take issue when time outs are called when the cheer squad is shown being able to chuck the t-shirts from the floor 40 rows up.... :)
The CPU does indeed call time-outs but it is just so inconsistent game to game. I play on 10 minute quarters btw.
NBA 2K is a sim. That's the point of it. To simulate the NBA. If a rule is made in the NBA it should be in the game. The rule in the NBA is timeouts are called for tv games at specific points in the game after a stopped ball.
No one has a problem with the inclusion of advertisements in game, or having the CBA be accurately represented...

This. The lack of dead ball timeouts is a huge issue that should have been addressed by now. It’s as fundamental to the NBA as the 2 minute warning is to the NFL & Madden.

and correct me if I'm wrong, this was never a problem before prior to nba 2k18. The computer always called time outs quite realistically in most situations. How the A.I. get's dumber in 2019 is beyond me.

For national televised games. There are scheduled timeouts. He wants those timeouts in the game. In college basketball they call it the under X amount of time out. So no matter what. When play stops a timeout is called so they can go to commercial break.

it would make sense if we had to suffer through commercials, but that's the only reason nba games go on an hour longer than they should on TV because of those dang TV time outs. I'd say, leave them out.

You could post this in pretty much any of the OS sports gaming forums. It must be one of the top things that keep people from enjoying a close but not exact league replica game. than any of the other sports and .

I want everyone in here to pay attention to the two large fonts. Notice the correlation between these two things. This is why 2k19 is so poorly built towards realism. Because the majority of people who buy this game is around about where this above poster is when it comes to basketball knowledge. hey previous poster, I'm not knocking you..just stating the facts.
There are things about 2k19 that are so unrealistic and were better in past iterations of the game and some of us know they can fix these issues(not all but some of them are easily fixed/tweaked.) That unrealistic approach makes the game BAD to a lot of us that actually do know basketball very well. These things are not unrealistic in a fun way. It's unrealistic in a frustrating..make you angry type of way. For example. I have the ball, I press the pass button to pass it to my teammate thats 10 feet away from me. The defender is not in the passing lane nor is there a defender on me nor the intended receiver of the pass. I press the pass button. Icon or direction doesnt matter. The ball slows down in mid flight starts to curve like a baseball pitch towards the defender. STEAL. the defender has stolen the ball. Wait.. what? What part of basketball does that happen in? it doesnt. Thats not fun. Thats aggravating for the offense. For some defenders they love it because they got another steal. They dont care how. they got one. I can't throw a smarter pass. I just have to pray to the 2k gawds that it wont happen the next time down court.
Or i have to fight fire with fire and say you know what. i wont even make a simple pass. I'll wait for my teammate to cut towards the basket IN Traffic with 3 people in the paint with out stretched arms and I'll just throw the lob pass because I know thats 80% effective even in traffic. i'l watch my lob pass go thru the defenders arms and hands. I'll love it. and the defenders will hate it and be completely frustrated. Or they can counter that by next time SHOVING the receiver in mid air for a no call because 2k doesnt count that as a foul (even though you hear audio saying "AND 1"...so they do know its a foul. ) and watch the lob pass fall out of bounds.
2k19 makes you stop playing actual basketball and makes you play cheese ball to compete. those who dont know much about hoops will think cheese ball is realistic. It's not.
The CPU is still rarely calling timeouts mostly until they get down by double digits for me. Once the half hits they start calling them left and right. If there’s no foul or my team doesn’t call a timeout they don’t make too many subs.

    Is it available for PC?

Patch is out for PC. Just got an update..

You would say leave out timeouts? TV timeouts are just 1 timeout per quarter... It actually helps you play your stars for more minutes...

CPU in 2k has always done this though, at least the past 4-5 2ks I have played.
The short shorts on players seem like they work now. I am messing around with some created players of mine (waiting for trade deadline to pass) and I noticed some have the actual short shorts while some have long shorts.
Might just be some jerseys, I was using the Hornets old school purple ones and players had different lengths. I am not noticing it on the Buzz City uniforms.

They didn’t do it much in this one...the cpu was pretty adept at calling timeouts to try and kill momentum in 19. Once you get that first double digit lead now they’ll call a timeout once if it doesn’t get below 10 they won’t call anymore timeouts until late. They’ll rely on fouls or your timeouts to make any lineup changes by then the game is usually out of reach and their key players are dog tired. I set my teams timeouts to manual to see if they’d change, they’d just wait til a foul occurred to make changes.

this is exactly the problem I've been experencing since nba 2k18 and it hasn't been addressed or resolved by 2K and for me, it's a gamebreaker for immersion.

Wow....well I wasn't expecting that. Certainly that isn't the color scheme I would have used for those two phrases. Maybe a bright green with more of a deeper burgundy.
But seriously let me clarify: when I say I know less about basketball than other sports that is like I know 85% of basketball compared to 95-99% Soccer, Baseball and Football. I played basketball in high school and continued playing pickup games with friends in college. Clearly the game has changed in that time, even last night watching the Bucks I was thinking how much more of a ball movement game it has become vs isolating guys one on one. But I don't have the knowledge of plays and schemes as I do in other games, but more importantly alot of the rules have changed in terms of personnel, time outs, off season stuff, etc. I find myself looking up alot of the mechanisms of roster rules, signing rules, etc.
BUT...to your point and the examples you gave...as I stated I don't play the game. This game may be giving me my fix for what a real franchise mode sports game should be. I let the CPU play things out so I don't run into the problems you're indicating. I think many of the sports games out there run into these problems: in MLB the Show, there is a major issue with bunting, which is often essential in the game such that people don't bunt when they should, i.e., it gets you away from playing real baseball, just as you indicated the issues cause problems being able to play real ball vs. cheese ball (and I love cheeseballs). I didn't buy the game because I wanted my poor controller skills to influence the game; I bought it because it is the one game everyone would say "you can do this in NBA2K in franchise, why can't I do this in XXX"...and that becomes the problem for the push for people who see serious issues year after year in the game play when the sales go through the roof thanks to folks like me. It is seen in every game out there, where one aspect (be it franchise mode, online human vs human, etc) is not a representation of the real thing, and doesn't get attention despite complaint after complaint. And yet the sales of the game and the further in-game purchases are probably viewed by the companies as indication they don't have to invest that much time into these problems if they would be costly, because people buy the game anyway.
So, sorry I'm contributing to the issue; and I know you weren't attacking me personally so no issue there. I just wanted a game where i feel THIS is what a franchise/career representation should be.

It's true that just saying that the CPU does not call timeouts is inaccurate. It is wholly dependent on game situation. If your guy gets hot or if you beat them with a well-designed play in a close game they'll call timeouts.
There are just certain situational timeouts that should be called by the A.I. that aren't.
So many times I have seen the A.I. in the 4th quarter wait until TWO SECONDS AFTER THEY LOSE 2 OF THEIR 4 TIMEOUTS to call their first timeout of the 4th. Regardless of the game situation that would be horrible coaching.
I want the A.I. to recognize things like that. Here's a list of timeout scenarios I would appreciate the A.I. recognizing that they currently don't:
    - The A.I. has a 20 point lead that is cut to a 13 point lead. Time out.
    - The A.I. has tired players and extra timeouts to burn.
    - It's the 4th quarter in a non-blowout and the A.I. knows they are going to lose 2 timeouts in the final minutes. They use them both a few minutes apart to give their guys some rest.
    - Halfway through the first they want to get their starters out.
3 minutes left in the 2nd they want to get some of their starters some rest.
That's more what I mean by scripted timeouts. They are strategically scripted. In the same way that momentum timeouts are scripted.

seriously enough with this "timeout conspiracy" i gave evidenece already here and this still going on.
check this video and non of them is double digits ish. and all in 1st quarter and so forth.
this first 2 video is in the same game and the CPU called 2 timeouts already.

enough with this complain nothing wrong in this part.
the only 2k need to focus into is attention to details colors and player appearances has to be on point.
im playing in 11 minutes superstar with edit sliders with RP%, no shot meter to make it more close to realistic.and everything is not fast and shooting sliders start to 35 to below to make sure you earn everyshot

again TO when the CPU has double digit lead..

timeout form 2 point lead...1st qrtr

hope this video will finish this TImeout conspiracy.
Timeouts are hit and miss for me. Some games in my franchise the cpu calls them often and some games they go never calling one (I play 12m quarters).
I would welcome an option for a "TV" timeout that automatically gets called after the 7m mark ( or 1/4th min mark depending on your quarter length) after a dead ball in the first and 3rd quarter.
Just make it an option to toggle on or off though. Give me a choice.

I'm seeing a variety of timeouts being called in a lot of different situations. Way more than before the patch. Single digits. Double digits. Close game but a few consecutive poor possessions. It's been great to see actually.

I agree the patch has not affected timeouts negatively...however the patch significantly nerfed fouls and the physics seem to be way off now..This game literally changes day to day with each content or roster update..This is the first 2K that I can't get going and playing consistently with adjusted sliders..

2K gets trashier by the year. I haven't played a season since 2K14 because I'm always editing the sliders then it's time for a new game
