MLB The Show 20: Update 1.07 Fixes Two Issues Introduced From Prior Patches

There was a mini uproar on OS after a couple bugs were introduced in prior patches since many folks either play with auto fielding or “clean” screens. These two items have been fixed now in Update 1.07.

MLB The Show 20: Update 1.07

Misc:
  • The Baserunning Diamond and Lead Runner Window will now display correctly, when the “Baserunning Decisions” or “Fielding Decision” options are set to “AUTO”.
  • The player marker (circle) will no longer display under a player when the “Fielding Decisions” are set to AUTO.

Otherwise, nothing else major has been changed.

I talk to one SDS personnel daily and report things directly to him, pretty sure why this one probably got fixed so quickly.

Maybe you can talk to your contact about lineups not sticking? :cheers444
Again, a big thank you to SDS for resolving this so quickly. It wasn't an issue that impacted me but I know it did for a lot of you.
Hopefully you see that SDS do listen and do respond.
    Good job all round:waytogo:

Still nothing on the roster fix ?

This patch is simply to correct the wrongs of the last two patches.

I'm a clean screen nut...I hope the diamond stays off with my setup...manual fielding / auto throwing, auto baserunning...i would to even dabble with trying to play without the blue fielding circle if that was a separate toggle option (i have faith in L2 switch player blindly)...for me i've always hoped they brought back the fielding shadow option vs ball indicator...remember that? i would love just the shadow and no blue circle on manual fielding. anyway, will download the latest soon and hope for the best. here's hoping one day i'll be able to toggle off that pesky xp notification...but will give kudos because this year:
    1. with auto defense shift, non of that stuff pops up anymore
    2. with tips off, none of that manager tip stuff pops up
i'd probably explode with excitement if the catcher started throwing back the ball 100% of the time to the pitcher (but man, the throw over to check the runner on first and him throwing it back is a beautiful thing they fixed last year)
man, just a thought came to me...maybe the cpu vs cpu ultimate clean screen is good to go...you know, eating and letting the cpu play each other and it looking just like an mlb broadcast (no diamond, indicators, xp notifications, etc..only the scorebug)...closest we'll have to anything real lately is this game :)

Can you tell him to fix Babe Ruth please. They don't have a hitter show up only the pitcher offline.

I personally had no issues because of the way I played Cpu Cpu but many others needed this update fix
Hats off to you for listening and taking care of your product that we love so much..!

Neither of these issues impacted me when they were made but it’s great to see the reaction to fixing a bug and a design choice that didn’t make sense.
Some in OS better sing their praises. They didn’t have to fix the base running thing but did so super quickly.

Neither of these changes impacted me, but it’s still awesome to see how quickly they reacted to fix a bug and an “interesting” design decision. They didn’t have to do anything with the base running thing but apparently listened to their customers and responded. File this away folks. No more griping that the developers don’t listen.
I hope those who were vocal on OS about the base running thing are just as loud to say thanks to SDS.
The bug with clean screen auto fielding was unfortunate, but they got that too.
    Good job SDS.

Can you please get an update on why the franchise rosters do not stick when starting the regular season. Huge bug in my opinion. Thank you in advance.

Not sure if it this works or I just haven't noticed they changed but are you selecting advance to regular season after spring training? I just press advance day until it's there and it seems to stick.

So happy to see this fixed that quickly! I know Armor and his presence/vocalness on these forums helped immensely, and for that, THANK YOU!
Why does everyone think there is a problem with rosters sticking? You have to send guys back down during spring training, just like in real life then they will stick. It uses an option but so does the real world. Go to mlb transactions on the net and there is a mile long list of players that have been optioned, just like in the game. Just because the game worked differently in the past doesn't mean it was the correct way to do things.

Because before this year, you could take a 25 man roster into Franchise skip to regular season and lineups, rotations, bullpens all stuck to what you set up before starting a Franchise.

Mine is more that I have 30 team control on and I go in and make some lineup and batting order changes and by the next game they have all been shuffled around. Why is Stanton batting 8th on NYY?

    Roster patch?

Remember when game 1st came out SDS claimed they were adding 200 new players they were just waiting for them to sign so they could be added?
Im sure thats when they would do it

I try this with my user control team and when I finish and enter the cpu still did moves for me. I don’t mind it doing for the cpu teams. But don’t do it for me.

Outside of franchise in the roster editer, make a note, take a picture, whatever, and when you are in spring training in franchise drop the guys back down to the minors exactly where they were to begin with, either just your team or all teams if you have 30 team control with two profiles setup and once you go to the regular season everything will stick. I promise, I've done it like 10 times.

No, I have not which is why I am playing the majority of the games in Spring Training just to tune up for the regular season. I will see if it sticks at that point.

In the real world no one owns all 30 franchises. Doesn't that seem to be time consuming to you? Unless you have nothing else better to do?

I've done it more than once for all 30 teams but the last time I did it it took me right at an hour, which really isn't that much time.
When people talking about the rosters not sticking , I never have too much confidence in sds fixing legacy issues with franchise. (Playoff rosters have been broken for how many years?).
A simple workaround for all of this would be to allow for franchise saves to be shared in the vault.

I dont do 30 team control, HOWEVER, there is nothing better than baseball to, except, well, you know ;)
I didnt mind the runner diamond being gone but I hated the little blue circles. I kept having to check my cleats; afraid I had run over some smurfing smurfs
I wish they’d fix quick counts calculating the pitches correctly. I use quick counts but it drives me nuts that every new batter up the pitcher loses a pitch off their total. He can be at 65 pitches, get an out, the next batter steps up and it’s a 2-1 count, yet the PC is at 67 (should be 68). Over the course of a game, that’s a lot of lost pitches.
Am thinking of starting a franchise - does starting a franchise lock you in to the latest game path at that time? I understand that rosters would lock, but if gameplay improvements are made down the line, do those keep applying to the franchise?

Yes they will apply. You won’t get locked into a certain gameplay patch by starting a franchise.

I don't see the blue circle with auto fielding + manual throwing.
I was hoping the baserunner diamond was still going to be off since I use auto baserunning on offense and auto throwing on defense (the baserunner diamond is a bigger eyesore than the fielding blue circle for my taste)...man, I wish I could go back an update...but have digital download and guess i'm just stuck  ...sure was nice not to see it for that quick spell

Yeah, if the circle wasn't there I'd go with trying assist fielding as well. And in my case the bigger eyesore of the baserunner diamond is there even if I set both fielding and throwing to auto...I am disappointed and got my hopes up that I would not see the baserunner diamond with auto baserunning and auto throwing / manual fielding set
I feel the game would be perfect from a broadcast/clean screen perspective if these toggle options were available:
    1. Toggle on/off fielder blue circle
    2. Toggle on/off baserunner diamond
    3. Toggle on/off xp notifcations in any scenario
    4. Toggle on/off HR camera
    5. Toggle on/off catch ball region (that moving shadow the game used to have an option for)

You don’t get to pick and chose which patch you instal. It’s either the current one or none. If you downloaded 1.07 then 1.06 was included in that.

Why is Stanton batting 8th on NYY?

    Because he hits .220?
Because he hit 3 home runs last season?
Because he's gonna be injured by game 4 regardless?

If you want a full clean screen solution, you have it now. Problem is for those like me who still want to see the pitch confidence, it comes with that useless R2 & now R3 indicatorS right there in middle of the screen.
Damn, I’m now dreaming the day Armor starts complaining and thing get fixed the day after  :waytogo:

I have a lot of negative stats in franchise now. I was playing the reds last night and Nick castellanos came up hitting -.256 and was -1 for 3

    Is it something like:
    Batting Average -.256
    vs
    Batting Average - .256
(i.e. they are missing a space there between the dash and the stat; though a colon would be better)

That's a design decision they made in the first year or two of quick counts. It's to compensate the fact that there are no one-pitch at bats with quick counts. So if they kept the real counts then they would go up too fast. So given that it's working as designed, there is nothing to fix.

yeah, Giancarlo's a bum. trade you Chris Davis and slightly used rosin bag for him :y1:
Much easier to paint the corners now. I hate patches and wish we had the option to choose what gameplay patch to play. Regretting getting the latest, should have stayed at 1.05
