In MLB The Show 19, Mike Trout was the only overall 99 rated player, with Chris Sale and Nolan Arenado at overall 98’s, along with Mookie Betts and Max Scherzer at overall 97’s.

if it's 2, 1 pitcher & 1 everyday player, Trout & deGrom. Scherzer was money in the playoffs, but him being a 99 is like making MadBum a 99 back in the day. lol

Gerrit Cole was the most dominant pitcher I saw last season. Guy was simply fire all year and in the post season. Dominant.
He would be my 99 pitcher.
Arenado and Scherzer should be a tad lower. Maybe 97 overall for them.

Here's the thing....
in MLB, you can have VASTLY different player builds calculate out to a 99 overall. Just because a guy is a 99 OVR doesn't mean he is a perfect, all-around baseball god. They are still going to have weaknesses.

If Cole repeats I think there’s a good chance he could get bumped up to 99 overall during the season in a roster update.
Probably why he signed the extenison with the Rockies. He knew if he went somewhere else, his numbers would drop dramatically.
