MLB The Show 20 Early Release Starts at Midnight Eastern: What Will You Do First?

It’s a yearly tradition here at OS to simply ask, what’s the first thing you will do when you boot up MLB The Show 20?

  • Will you jump right into a franchise mode since we have full minors out of the gates?
  • Will you hop online (servers be praised!) and play some Diamond Dynasty?
  • Will you set up a new custom league to play some games with friends?
  • Or will you do something else entirely?

Let’s hear it!

  1. Someone's gotta say it: First thing I will do is edit Astros hitters' discipline and Contact down 15-20 pts, and edit their Vision and Power down 10-15 pts.
Then Probably start a March to October and play that for a few days until rosters stabilize... Oh, and do the Javy Baez Nike Moments mission, I want 'dem shoes!!

Transfer over my '19 franchise, and keep on rollin.....

I am struggling with wanting to carry over my franchise. I was going to just end it, but didn't want to give it up, so I am currently re-doing the offseason after failing to fix something before advancing to the offseason and I'm losing interest because while some signings are the same, many are different and its bugging me that its different.
Anyways, to answer the question, the first thing I'll do is look at the rosters and then I'll either start a new franchise or I'll carryover my current one and start Spring Training.

Oh man, I hear ya. I am struggling because I really want to start fresh with '20, but I really have some great young prospects in '19 that are about to arrive to the bigs and I've been grooming them and UGH , I don't want to just dump that and start over......
And there is no chance of me doing two franchises, I barely have time for one franchise unless I do a lot of simming, which is a no-go for me.

Here's my thought. While it may be annoying to continue your chise with what has occured.
I would think we likely will have to start over anyway if you plan to get a PS5.
Just about every year I start out by playing a few innings of a random exhibition game out of respect for the game.
However I've been extremely eager to get started on my 30 relocated franchises. I plan on being in the Franchise relocation menu by 12:01AM tomorrow
I usually play a game between the Cardinals and Cubs at Busch stadium. Unsure if I will do that again this year or simply start opening packs and setting up my DD team and then look at the rewards for Conquest, Showdown, Team Affinities and March To October to decide what rewards I want to chase first.
I will start a Play Now game with my Tigers at Comerica Park and just be happy to see the Chevrolet Fountain sign in centerfield!

My tradition since 08 has been Rangers vs. Astros. Since this is the first year at the new Arlington Stadium, I'll play it there. Then I'll probably play some RTTS.
I got the anniversary edition, so I’ll open up my packs and get my DD team situated; edit uniforms, make my roster, etc.
After that, I’ll get an exhibition game in. Yanks vs. Astros at the stadium. Usually I’ll play against the Red Sox in a quick exhibition game, but ya know 😉
Once my D.D. squad and my exhibition game are completed, I’ll probably start up with my franchise. I like to make things realistic to start off the season, so I was planning on having Judge, Hicks, and Stanton injured. Now that the season is starting later that messes things up and I may just keep them. Not sure though I really wanted Frazier to start in MLB. Guess it’ll be a game time decision. I’ve already decided to sit Severino for the season due to TJ surgery.
Going to play a few exhibition games to get a feel for the mechanics and then create a RTTS right fielder and a LH starting pitcher. Finally going to start a Blue Jays franchise.
Just a little more than two hours left, can't wait!
Very first thing I'll do is import my music. Then, I'll take some BP to get my timing down. After that, I'll play my annual Braves/Mets kickoff game, followed by exhibition games until my reflexes stop working.
