  1. I don't know what they have people test but will someone please go and test in game injuries in MoM franchise games.
    If that is not fixed I will not be buying.

    The only modes available in the beta are:
    * Events
    * Battle Royale
    * Play with Friends
    * Diamond Dynasty vs CPU

    Ill buy like I do every year but don't expect a whole lot of change. They are not going to put allot of effort in to this years game with the new systems coming out next year. Just my opinion. I can almost guarantee that injuries, Rotating Schedules or anything else relating to a deeper Franchise will be implemented. It will basically be a new game with new rosters and thats about it fow offline franchise players
    Meh. No modes I play or care about. More catering to the DD and micro transaction crowd. With nothing for offline players. Not even going to bother this year.

    It’s not about the modes. It’s about the gameplay. Do you really want the online crowd to dictate how the gameplay on the field goes without the sim oriented crowd countering it?
    Even DD games vs CPU can be quite useful in pushing our demands.

    Yeah you keep believing that they care what we think. What is the point. They will just put out another 20+ patches catering to the DD crowd changing gameplay every time. It serves no purpose except for them to test the servers. Beyond that they don't give two shakes what anybody thinks about the game. That crowd has been determining the course of this game for 3 years now and nothing will change that.

    And it will never change if people don't step up and tell them they're wrong.
    If selected, I'm making my voice heard (same as I did last year)...at least I can say in good conscience that I tried to do something for the offline community.
    I hope I am not alone in at least trying....

    You're not alone.
    I think it was last year that there was an issue with outfielders routes to tracking down balls that was brought up to the devs that was corrected for launch.
    There is some pretty good back and forth discussion that takes place in the appropriate threads in regards to the BETA/ALPHA and what should be changed, what shouldn't, why it should or shouldn't, and the bouncing of ideas off of each other.
    At least that was my experience.

    Actually it will never change as long as people keep giving them money every year. I wish I could be the chipper, hopeful (naive) activist that you are. But I am a realist. They will continue to milk the DD crowd for every dollar they are willing to spend. Until they start loosing money. They will not put any effort into the offline modes. So if you really wanted to "help" the offline community you would stop blindly buying the product.
    But I hope you do make a difference and that I am wrong. But sadly, history, economics and facts tell me I most likely am right.
    O hell yeah bring it on baby!!! :)
    I just LOVE that Sony allows it's gamers to get a sneak peek for the upcoming game for 1 full week. Even if the beta build is far from final it still can give you an idea of how game play and CPU AI has improved or dare I say it declined since last years version.
    I really enjoyed my time with last years beta and can't wait for the next one if I get in of course :)

    Same thinking here I will also be buying as I do every year but no doubt I expect 20 to be by far the least exciting release for the series for PS4.
    PS5 I would think is the main focus for them at this point in time.
    Having said that I already think 19 is fantastic so 20 can only get better.

    This **** is getting old
    Nobody is allowed to simply like a game anymore and definitely not allowed to buy it on the principle that they like the game/series
    Doing so is blindly supporting a flawed product.
    Look you don’t like the direction the game is going then definitely speak up. But can you voice your opinion and differences of that opinion without the insults and the talking down to those who’s opinions you disagree with?
    Why should he or anyone stop buying a game they enjoy instead of providing feedback on how to make their experience even more enjoyable?
    It is possible to enjoy a game, have fun with it and still believe there is room for improvement

    Yes you are getting old with your hypocrisy. You spout your rhetoric that "why oh why can't people just like the game" But yet you are the first to condemn anybody with a different opinion than you. It is always the same tired arguments with you. "Cant we love the game and still believe in improvement" You are the CNN of OS, you only broadcast your message and get upset when anybody disrupts your narrative.
    So how about you give it a rest, and let those folks that don't like the direction, or the game, or the Developers, have the same platform that you use to spout off your fan boy garbage. Or is that too much against your narrative?

    Same boat as Bullit on this one, theres been an outcry for 2 years about offline modes and nothing changes because of the DD money machine.
    Only hope seems to be for PS5 but even that im doubtful, this series has never produced a great console entry game

    I feel like there's going to be some new fielding stuff they want to test out, what with Javy being the cover boy and all...
    Agree with it being very possible to to test out offline gameplay in the beta so long as 9 inning vs. CPU play is an option in DD, btw. It might be less useful if you use a stacked team of all 90+'s, but nothing says you HAVE to use those cards in your lineup - you can build a team with mostly silvers and bronzes, a few golds and one or 2 low diamonds and be right at the talent level of most of the MLB teams if you wanted. That would be pretty representative of how the game would play offline (not exactly since they can tune the game differently for both, but it's a decent enough approximation for a beta)
    With Javy being on the cover maybe baerunning will be improved. Personally I feel like theres no difference between say a speedster/agile player and a lumbering oaf, they both make the same stop and turn animation which takes forever and round the bases like they're going to fall over. Made many outs because of baserunning animations.
    Maybe you can actually slide your way into a base and beat the tag.

    I signed up and hope to get picked so I can tell them all the ways they have made this game unplayable for the last 2 years, the list is very long . As far as the Alpha goes just like last year they cannot possibly get any useful information when they have everyone playing with super teams , just goes to show how clueless they have become and how this game will require another 25 patches and still won’t be playable again

    This is my thinking as well.
    I'm thinking defense and baserunning/tagging/stealing are all going to be focal points in '20.
    Defense took a great step forward in '19 but still there are things that I'd like to see, specifically more outfield dive animations and animations when fielding around the wall.
    Baserunning/tagging/stealing/pickoffs all are in need of TLC to help "liven" up that aspect of the game. I'm hoping there's an option to make getting back on pickoff attempts manual (leave auto there for those who don't want to mess with it) so those of us that enjoy that cat and mouse game can get deeper into it.
    We need more animations on slide and tags, as the few in there are too bland, repetitive, and generic. I need to see guys contorting their bodies to avoid a tag, the fielder making snap tags and such to get the runner.

    Tagging during steals. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a runner called out on a steal who looked safe. Replay showed that due to lack of collision detection runners hand definitely on the bag, but because the hand animation is above the bag, runner called out. If you get the call, this is one to note.

    Will definitely be looking at and providing feedback in this area of the game if I'm invited.
    The animations are just plain ugly at times.
    Plays at the plate is another aspect of the game that is in need of some TLC

    Someone said they saw an injury in manage mode but I still haven't seen one - but I also haven't played much either.
    The weird this is there used to be realistic numbers of injuries in the game. Somehow they got removed. I don't know why they would remove that code from the game. Perhaps the injury code was intertwined with some other code that got changed and they forgot to reinstall it.
    I do agree it should be fixed but they have historically been slow to fix things in manage mode and when they do fix one thing they tend to mess up something else.

    I knew I saw something in regards to new defensive mechanics for '20 on the forums, but couldn't remember where until today:

    -Improved defensive and hitting mechanics

    I'm definitely looking forward, if invited, to see if the new defensive mechanics are in the BETA for feedback. Curious what they entail and all.

    “EXPANDED CUSTOMIZATION ACROSS THE BOARD”
    Whoa, intriguing. I like the sounds of that.

    so much, potential here. especially since DD already has a ****-tonne customisable, if we're able customise a lot of small details outside of DD, could really take franchise an immersion level deeper. and the mode sorely needs. *fingers crossed*

    Edit coaches, edit coaches, edit coaches.
    Add a season vs the CPU in Diamond Dynasty and I will buy this years edition. The "Moments" ruined everything. Hated that. Conquest got much better but I got burnt out quick. Gameplay was pretty awesome last year though.

    Gotta imagine we'll start getting TS20 info pretty soon since release date is 2 weeks earlier.
    what I'm dying to hear is full details about more customisation. I've already preordered and prepaid, so I can get the early, weekend release, but I haven't planned on taking time off work for opening week of Show 20. however, if I'm blown away with the news and details of customisation, I'll take that Friday off, & possibly the following Monday too.

    Is it just me or does the MLB The Show developers hardly ever make posts on OS any more?
    I just really hope they are still taking a peek at our wishlist's threads and acting on them.
    I remember the days when Ramone Russell would leave comments here pretty often and now he is nowhere to be seen on this board.
    I guess they finally got tried of all the bashing :) lol
