Madden NFL 21 Player Ratings - Rookie Wide Receivers

EA has posted Madden NFL 21 player ratings for the rookie wide receivers today, following the reveal of the rookie quarterback ratings yesterday. The top 5 rookie wide receivers are as follows:

  • Henry Ruggs (Overall 76 with 98 Speed)
  • CeeDee Lamb (Overall 75)
  • Jerry Jeudy (Overall 75)
  • Justin Jefferson (Overall 74)
  • Jalen Reagor (Overall 73)

With the assistance from Chad Johnson, here are some player reactions to some of those ratings.

You can view all of the Madden NFL 21 ratings that have been released so far, at the official Madden ratings website.

The Madden NFL 21 ratings will continue on ESPN, with Madden’s 99 Club and additional player/team ratings throughout ESPN broadcasts next week, including Get Up!, SportsCenter, First Take, and NFL Live. From June 13 to June 17, each day will reveal more than the next, ending the week with a Madden Ratings Primetime Special and the Madden NFL Ratings Hub flipping live.

Madden NFL 21 launches on August 28, or 3 days earlier by pre-ordering the MVP Edition. EA SPORTS also offers Dual Entitlement, creating ways for players who purchase either an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 to upgrade their copy of Madden NFL 21 from prior generation Xbox One or PlayStation 4 platforms, at no additional cost.

This offer will be in place all the way through the Madden NFL 21 season, up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade whenever they first purchase their new console within that period. Of note, physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles.

Lamb seems to be absolutely average in terms of Madden. His after the catch ratings are far too low imo.

I'm an Eagles fan and find Lamb's rating to be quite average as well. One thing I'll never understand is EA's desired to rate overalls strictly on draft position. Lamb fell in the draft and was viewed as the #1 WR prospect. I feel like he should be the highest OVR rookie WR in Madden.
Lamb was a monster after the catch. I feel like both his after catch ratings and AGI/COD are too low.
It really is hilarious to see these guys expect a 99, but props to Ruggs for having a 98 speed.

It’s still amazing to see EA under the impression that separating speed and ratings by 1 point is somehow accurate lol 90 and 91 speed? Yea no. You don’t really see a jump until it’s a 5 point separation and it’s been that way for a long time.
