Madden NFL 21 Patch 1.15 Arrives Tomorrow, Some Patch Notes Revealed

Madden NFL 21 game update 1.15 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Some of the patch notes were revealed earlier today on Good Morning Madden, featuring gameplay, MUT, Franchise/Face of the Franchise and The Yard updates. Of note, mouthpieces will be enabled throughout the game.

When the full patch notes arrive tomorrow, we’ll make sure to update, as it typically provides more details. Until then, check out some of the patch notes below, captured by Muthead.

For those of you looking for franchise mode updates, the first of three scheduled updates are set to arrive in mid-November. You will not be required to restart your franchise, when these updates arrive.

Here’s a list of community requests the team is currently implementing and testing. Keep that in mind, as things could change, the closer we get to release.

  • X-Factor/Superstar Ability Customization: This highly requested feature by the community allows commissioners to assign X-Factors to any player via the edit player feature. Once a player has met the criteria to unlock an X-Factor ability, commissioners will be able to edit their player’s Superstar abilities and Superstar X-Factor ability by selecting from those available within his position group. Users will have control over this functionality in both offline and online Franchises.
  • Player Card Career Stats UI: A top community request for several years now, the team is revamping the statistics on the player card to include more context in season stats, like week, opponent, and outcome, while also providing what team the player was on for every year of their career.
  • Dev Trait Regression Tuning: The team is doing tuning work to player development traits in Franchise mode to ensure a proper balance of Superstar and X-Factor players when progressing multiple years in a Franchise.
  • Playoff Bracket: A visual playoff bracket will be added into the game that reflects the new Wild Card format, allowing users to see the full playoff picture.

EA provided some other post-launch Madden NFL 21 franchise mode updates last month, as well as details on the very early stages for Madden NFL 22 updates for franchise mode.

  1. I hope formation subs not saving is fixed tomorrow!
I've been putting pass catching RBs in the slot receiver spot and it's really helping with sim stats but for some teams I cant make changes because formation subs aren't saving again.

Very disappointed about them nerfing the pressure effect on throws

This sounds like a terrible adjustment for someone in my position who plays solo franchise mode vs. the CPU.
I would be nervous about DLing this one if pass rush and inaccuracy are both nerfed.

Yeah I’m going to disconnect from my internet for this patch. Maybe it’ll be good but I like the QB play how it is.

Anyone that plays this game that’s non-Comp knows the Pass Rush is no where near where it was during last years Beta.
Different Play Styles no longer being used, just universal updates that are not bugs but gameplay preferences by one community imposed on all.
    It is what it is!!!
...meanwhile NBA 2K drops another absolute BOMB for next gen. Madden looks worse and worse every day. They can't even get their next gen game out on time and 2K is over here re-creating their entire game and adding tons of new modes. This is getting embarrassing for EA.

With Covid and a transition year to next gen it’s pretty awesome that 2K still came out swinging. Madden was already far behind and they now have been obliterated.
Well, I'm pretty happy since I was struggling heavily with both the QB Slide problem and the RAC Drop problem.
But then again, I only play offense (and have Pass Blocking at 30 along with Run Blocking)
Alright.. I've been playing more Ultimate team H2H and most of these changes are somewhat welcome.
But can someone tell me what the purpose of Competive, Aracde and Simulation game mode means in Madden 21??? Either they aren't mentioning what changes are impacting which modes or they mean nothing anymore.
Everytime they make changes to dropped passes, dropped ints, accuracy, penalties, etc they pit franchise mode players against ultimate team players. I thought simulation mode would have different 'percentages' than competitive or arcade.
When I play my franchise I welcome the drops or inaccurate passes.
When I play H2H and a drop happens, I just say "I hate this game" and move on lol.

Every gameplay adjustment seems universal now as honestly there’s no longer an open channel for Sim Play Style gameplay adjustments as this play style consist mostly of Franchise gamers whether online leagues or offline solo.
There are several gameplay mechanisms that affect the game across the board, esp as it relates to AI impacts.
Usery means less AI impact upon gameplay which most updates if you reread are geared towards greater User focus/outcomes (ie Stick Skills).
Many of the “new” gameplay aspects basically have been reverted to levels where they’re not as visible or impactful.
    - Pass Rush
    - COD rating impact
    - Throw Trajectories
    - AI QB uniqueness/Play Differentiation
    - Player Archetypes
    - Stretched Ratings Scale
There’s a pattern each update seems to follow and it’s usually not in the Sim Play Styles best interest.

This is what makes me sick about Madden. I'm by no means an EA basher, nor have I ever been. I've bought every Madden since 2002. I loved this game as a kid on the PS2. It was my favorite thing in the world. I still enjoy playing Madden. But, each year I grow increasingly disappointed with EA's focus and what has become of what once was a fun, but incredibly deep, smooth, and realistic football game for its time.
It seems every year they implement the new sim features perfectly at launch and then nerf them to non-existence by the midpoint of the season. It's atrocious.

    Terrible patch
Madden is the only game where comp players actually prefer lower skill to win.
Interceptions SHOULD be dropped more often. What’s the point of a catch rating if every player catches the same?
We saw last year that the champ didnt even bother passing because interceptions were too easy.
And whytf would you lower the effect of pressures? That’s the entire goal of a defense when playing QBs. You dont like being pressured? Invest in your O-line or make actual reads and get the ball out quickly.
The hand holding by the devs is incredibly disappointing.
Kraelo said 1st title update for Franchise will be out mid November, should be a blog about it next week. He also mentioned that customization for mouthpieces will be coming soon, so we will be able to edit them when we edit our players.

Yeah it's pretty insane to be honest. It's clear T2/2k and Visual Concepts, despite not having another NBA title to compete against, see Madden as their primary competition. The hate that they have for EA is almost tangible and it is clearly driving their aggressiveness towards developing next-gen NBA 2k21. I couldn't fathom what they'd have done if they were still able to make an NFL sim.
