Madden 21 Ratings Leaked? Top 10 Players for Every NFL Team, Courtesy Madden School

The Madden 21 top 10 ratings are still in flux right now (we do have some official ones), but Madden School has posted the top 10 players from each team as of now. Brian thought it would be fun to go over some of the ratings and break them down at this point.

Forum user brettmickey has also been a cool chap, pulling all the ratings for every listed player and posting them position by position — so going beyond just the Madden 21 top 10 ratings per position. You can scope out all of that out in the thread.

Also feel free to add your own takes at this point as we move towards the Madden 21 release.

  1. The following ratings are listed in order of overall. This is based on the top 10 players for each team in the league and does not represent a final ranking based on all players. For example, the 49ers 10th rated player (Raheem Mostert) is an 84 overall. Jimmy G could theoretically be an 83 overall and tied for the 11th best QB in the game.

I'm just adding the "ratings not final" element to the thread title because anything not officially released by EA before launch is still in flux.

Kyler Murray ahead of Josh Allen?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Only one of those two players has completed 60% or more of his passes at any level of football (be it the NFL, NCAA FBS, or high school) and it’s not Josh Allen.
Josh Allen looks the part and his physical gifts are immeasurable, that much is obvious, but he has never acquitted himself as a technically skilled quarterback at literally any level of the sport. Murray has a 2018 Heisman Trophy and 2019 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award to his credit. He’s very obviously the goods and everyone very plainly sees that; it’s why he’s getting dark-horse MVP hype entering this upcoming season.
Between the two, Murray is definitively the better player right now, and assuming these ratings are correct Madden 21 correctly captures that difference.

    Thank god for player editing.....
Fwiw...they both have a 64.2 overall grade from PFF....

Since these aren’t final, I won’t lose my mind just yet; however, I don’t know how the overall ratings formula could have managed to output some of these...
RB Leonard Fournette and G Andrew Norwell above 75 overall is a real stretch. WR DJ Chark, EDGE Josh Allen, and QB Gardner Minshew appear to be under-rated when comparing against their peers.
It’s like wearing a Jaguars uniform is equivalent to a (-3) adjustment to OVR. Calais Campbell is good example of this.

I'll probably update the OP post once more in the morning with a video from Brian just going over some of the still-in-flux ratings for teams, thanks again for the follow-up organization brett.

Where the he** is Garoppolo? Couldn't crack the top 15?

The ratings are showing the top 10 players based on overall for each team. Looking at the 9ers, their 10th rated player (Raheem Mostert) is an 84 overall. So Jimmy G is an 83 or lower. I think it's a fairly safe bet he's in the 80s.
