Will Forza Horizon 6 Feature Crossplay?

The next release in the arcade-focused portion of the Forza series is coming later this year with Forza Horizon 6. One thing many fans are wondering as news begins to trickle out is how easy it will be to play the game with friends who don’t use the same console. For fans awaiting their chance to get their hands on Forza Horizon 6 and start racing, it is important to consider the system on which you should play it. As a game published by PC giants Microsoft via Xbox Game Studios, Forza Horizon 6 is not a platform exclusive, but it will still be arriving earlier for those playing on PC or Xbox consoles.

The game will launch across PC and Xbox platforms on May 19, with an expected early access period available to players with access via Game Pass or purchasing an edition that provides early access. It is not yet known when the PlayStation release will be available; it is expected to be released later in 2026.

Can You Play Forza Horizon 6 With Friends Across Platforms With Crossplay?

Fortunately, Forza Horizon 6 is expected to arrive with full crossplay support in place. An official support document released shares that the game will have both crossplay and cross-save capabilities, enabled across all gameplay on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and Steam-powered PC play.

Crossplay is a wonderful feature, particularly for gamers whose friends are not playing on the same gaming systems. With crossplay enabled, gamers around the world can connect to the same online game regardless of their system. This means that if you are playing on PC, your friend has a PlayStation, and their partner is on an Xbox, you can all jump into the game together. Although a highly handy feature for gamers, it is also a developmental challenge and not always available.

Crossplay will be a default capability and will not require any DLC or aftermarket purchases. It is also expected to be available for use as soon as the game launches.
