With new customization options, the gigantic Japan map, and an allegedly “underground” vibe for Tokyo, Forza Horizon 6 is certainly quite exciting. For many fans, Playground Games is looking to right the wrongs of previous games: better progression, more accurate car models, and car meets. This is more than enough to urge a lot of people to pre-order, but there are some who are a bit more skeptical.
Some fans on Reddit have a simple principle when it comes to pre-orders, and it doesn’t particularly have much to do with Forza itself:
“Never pre-order a game. I can wait for a few more days for reviews and gameplay footage before buying it.”
At the same time, a lot of people look at Forza Horizon games as a safe bet:
“I rarely preorder games, only when I know I will enjoy them. In the case of FH6, yes I will be preordering it soon, because based on previous 2 titles I know I will enjoy it.”
Of course, there are a lot of people who will be playing through Xbox Game Pass. Game Pass is a great way of trying out the game or just getting in on the early hype for a couple of months. However, Forza Horizon 6 will only be available on Game Pass Ultimate ($30/month) or Game Pass PC ($16.50/month). It won’t be available with the Game Pass Essential or Premium tiers at launch.
Could Forza Horizon 6 Be Racing Game Of The Year?
Ultimately, it’s too early to answer whether or not FH6 will be the best racing game of 2026. However, based on how well FH4 and FH5 have performed commercially and critically, there’s a high chance that the latest entry will impress. Yesterday, we also got a look at a cool “Art of Driving” trailer and some more in-engine footage for the game. Some of the Japanese backroads look beautiful, and if this is how the game truly looks at launch, we’re all in for a treat. Forza Horizon 6 will launch on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
