Shortly after some dedicated fans made findings about the Forza Horizon 6 map, we have more from the community to look forward to. Early hands-on impressions and preview footage of Forza Horizon 6 have surfaced online ahead of the alleged preview embargo on April 8. Many of these new findings come directly from Reddit, and the primary post that started all this has been removed, signaling at least some amount of credibility.
The feedback so far is overwhelmingly positive on visuals, atmosphere, and sound design. According to the leaked details, the preview features roughly one hour of linear progression, then full free exploration and customization. The game is currently locked to 30 fps at 4K in quality mode on Xbox Series X, with a 60 fps performance mode confirmed for launch.
Japan Feels Massive And Alive
We already know that the Forza Horizon 6 map is massive (allegedly twice the size of Forza Horizon 5). But one of the biggest takeaways from the community is that FH6 feels noticeably more “underground” compared to previous Horizon games. Tokyo is particularly described as massive, reportedly feeling bigger than the heavily advertised scale from earlier marketing.
And fortunately, some of the leaked details confirm that this massive city does not feel empty. Traffic density is significantly improved, and there’s enough activity to make the world feel lively without turning it into a crowded GTA-style pedestrian fest.
Details from some leakers also confirm that the game looks better than the marketing materials suggest. Sound design is also highlighted as a real standout, with immersive and pleasant engine noises. Progression also feels better, though based on only a couple of hours of hands-on, it’s hard to tell how exactly rewarding it is.
Forza Horizon 6 is shaping up to deliver exactly what many fans have been hoping for: a fresh, detailed, and “lived-in” open-world racer set in Japan. As we get closer to the preview embargo, we’ll have more details for you about the customization, progression, and possibly car handling. Forza Horizon 6 launches on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on May 19, 2026.
