Out of the Park Baseball 19 Partners With EA, Will Be Distributed on Origin

It seems the folks at Out of the Park Developments have been busy building up infrastructure to get their flagship game, Out of the Park Baseball, in the hands of more gamers these past few months. Here’s the official PR:
Out of the Park Developments, an official licensee of MLB.com, the MLBPA, and MiLB, today announced a partnership with Electronic Arts. The partnership includes the sale of and subscription access to the award-winning baseball strategy game Out of the Park Baseball 19 for all Origin™ users. Out of the Park Baseball 19 will be available for purchase on Origin and is included as a fully-playable experience for all Origin Access subscribers upon its release on March 22, 2018. Origin is accepting pre-orders now at a 10% discount.
“We are delighted and honored to partner with Electronic Arts to distribute our baseball game directly to  EA’s biggest fans,” said OOTP Developments CEO and lead developer Markus Heinsohn. “EA’s long history of sports excellence makes Origin a tremendous platform. A whole new audience will now experience the delights and agonies of running a baseball franchise across the majors and minors, from today or throughout the entire history of the sport.”
“We believe this is the ultimate win-win-win for everyone,” said OOTP CMO Richard Grisham. “The Origin platform benefits from adding an award-winning baseball strategy game, and we at Out of the Park Developments gain a new audience to interact with on a daily basis. We are also very excited about where this will lead in the future as we build even more experiences for every single kind of gaming fan.”
Out of the Park Baseball 19 will be available worldwide on March 22 on Origin for $39.99 or included as part of Origin Access for $4.99 a month. Fans who pre-order the game before March 22 will receive a 10% discount. The follow-up to the acclaimed Metacritic 2016 PC Game of the Year includes several exciting new features and a treasure trove of deep improvements to its award-winning gameplay. As part of this non-exclusive agreement, Out of the Park Baseball 19 will also remain available on Steam and the Out of the Park Developments website.

  1. Yes of course there has to be more to this than distribution channels I mean its available on steam. We can only hope for some sort of MVP/OOTP hybrid game, it's been to long coming.
If ea is getting into baseball again would that mean the madden exclusive license is over? I know mvp baseball was apart if that deal where ea could not make a baseball game. But I hope them getting into baseball again means no more exclusive football license
