NBA Live 19 Features 5v5 Pro-Am Games with 5 Minute Quarters and Fouls

NBA Live 19 Executive Producer, Seann Grady, has posted a new NBA Live 19 blog, going over Live Run (introducing some new changes), Hype (redesigned to be more visual, more celebrated, and more rewarding), 5v5 competitive play and much more. The 5v5 Pro-Am games will feature 5 minute quarters and fouls. Make sure to read the blog and get ready for the NBA Live 19 demo launching later tonight.

Maybe not too surprisingly, when we introduced 3v3 in Live 18 we saw a lot of Live Run players move over to this mode. This made us stop and think about how we want to differentiate these two experiences inside of Live Run. Rather than it just being about the number of players on the court, we decided, let’s really create two distinct ways to play for our fans. While 3v3 is a quicker experience that is a bit more grounded in traditional streetball or pickup ball, we’ve decided to lean into the community feedback and make 5v5 a more competitive, traditional Pro-Am experience, with full five-minute quarters and fouls.

  1. I am really stoked for the demo tomorrow. If the movement is as smooth as NHL's (I think I read it's on same engine) this could be the start of something very good.
I just hope I can be more adaptable to the controls. Last year was kind of hard constantly switching between 2k and Live.
oh my god. They added THE *@!#ING CAGE AS A COURT? I used to walk by there every single day and stop at the McDonalds next to it. Memories!!!
At first I was disappointed because it's yet another online thing instead of the NBA game. But I get these improvements and it will make me seriously consider playing online with my created player.
Is there role types that no one played as because I don't care about scoring. Rather do the other things.

NIIICCEEE. Now if they will just give us a taste of that online play before the game drops. Would have also been cool if they would have kept a live run mode of 5on5 to 21 as well. Some of us that have to play solo a lot but really want to play legit basketball could jump in games without out being stuck with terrible teammates for long play sessions.

did they say this was out?? I was under the impression it was still there
Unless the demo is trash I'll get it. They gave me what I asked for. I love drawing fouls on over eager defenders, hopefully you can do that.
Their progression sounds interesting too. I dream of playing d and having a jumper. Wow.
I love making a bunch of dudes too. Might even get on some 18 to get hype if the demo feels good. Maybe I won't be able to go back, but hopefully they keep stats for 5v5. I just get bored of 21. It's not really a chess match cuz it's over too fast.

Randoms don't bother me as much on live cuz you can carry in live with more than just shooting builds.

That's good to hear from a guy making the conversion from 2K to Live. Was thinking of a Ben Simmons/LBJ type of build.

Yeah I liked that about live a lot . My wing defender was very well rounded and actually had good defense without sacrificing my offense to much .
