NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Features WNBA MyPLAYER Experience, Fully Customizable WNBA Franchise Mode, Online Leagues & Much More

With 2K previously revealing their NBA 2K21 next-gen gameplay trailer, along with part 1, part 2 and part 3 of their next-gen gameplay blogs, today it’s all about the W. More specifically, the WNBA.

The W, is the first-ever WNBA MyPLAYER experience and an exclusive new mode for the next-gen version of NBA 2K21. The W will allow players to create their own fully customizable WNBA player and experience a professional career – both on and off the court.

Felicia Steenhouse, senior producer for NBA 2K21 is here, for the latest Courtside Report, to talk about the WNBA MyPLAYER experience.

Hello everyone! Felicia Steenhouse, Senior Producer for NBA 2K21 here, and I’m excited to talk about WNBA today! First and foremost, I want to thank the dedicated fans out there still playing through WNBA Seasons, writing up wish lists, reviews, and reaching out on social media pushing us for more. You were certainly on our minds during those tough late nights, inspiring us to keep pushing. I can’t express how grateful we are as a team for your participation and feedback. While this Courtside Report is all about the WNBA and The W, I actually want to start with an addition for those fans who enjoyed last year’s WNBA Season mode. You’re going to love this.

Fully customizable. Multi-season. WNBA Franchise mode. This is MyWNBA!

As soon as we were done with NBA 2K20, we knew right away what our first goal for NBA 2K21 would be and got to work on building that foundation for league control and progression for the WNBA. You now have the sandbox to go and create the league of your dreams. Control all 12 teams, or take your favorite team from the lottery to championship rings over as many seasons as it takes.

When I say fully customizable, this is what I mean:

  • Create a league of your own. From rules, to finances, CBA, draft, and everything in between. Use 2K presets for a different experience, or download shared settings from the community.
  • Skip the season altogether and get straight to the playoffs in Playoff mode.
  • Want to play with friends? Got you covered with Online Leagues.
  • Turn on role playing elements to experience the WNBA from a GM’s perspective.
  • For experienced players, up the difficulty and compete on the leaderboard.
  • Once you find yourself immersed in your sandbox, save and upload your custom configuration so you can share what you built with the community!

We want to hear from you. Get your hands dirty in our MyWNBA sandbox and let us know how you are playing. Where are you having fun and where are you looking for more? We want to hear it all so we can grow this experience together.

Now, I hope you didn’t think we stopped at our brand new MyWNBA experience. We have so much more to share today…

Welcome to The W

One of our main design goals for The W was to allow you to experience the career of a WNBA player, both on and off the court. The women of the WNBA are more than athletes and are defining professional sports as we know it in real-time. Do you have what it takes to lead this league into a new era?

Building your MyPLAYER

The first thing you’ll do when creating your WNBA MyPLAYER is pick your player’s head. Import your Face Scan from the mobile app or choose from one of our 30 base heads (that you can completely customize) to form into your likeness.

After this, you’ll then get to one of the most important early decisions when creating a WNBA MyPLAYER – determining your player type.

A noteworthy aspect of this mode is that your player progression is triggered solely through playing games. Because of this, picking your Player Type will be one of the most important early decisions you make in the game, as it’ll determine your MyPLAYER’s initial attributes and those when the player progresses from Progression Level 1 all the way up to Level 10.

Here’s a breakdown of the Player Types:

  • 2-Way Playmaker. PG & SG eligible.
    • Good at ball-handling and passing. Good at defending the perimeter.
  • 2-Way Point Forward. SF & PF eligible.
    • Good at ball-handling and passing. Good at perimeter and interior defense (SF perimeter, PF interior).
  • Slashing Playmaker. PG, & SG eligible.
    • Good at ball-handling, passing and finishing near the rim.
  • Slashing Point Forward. SF & PF.
    • Good at ball-handling, passing and finishing near the rim.
  • Inside-Out Playmaker. PG, & SF eligible.
    • Good at 3’s, finishing inside, ball-handling and finishing near the rim.
  • Inside-Out Point Forward. SF & PF eligible.
    • Good at 3’s, finishing inside, ball-handling and finishing near the rim.
  • 2-Way Slasher. PG, SG, & SF eligible.
    • Good perimeter defender who is also good at ball-handling and finishing near the rim.
  • 2-Way Slashing Four. PF eligible.
    • Good perimeter/interior defender who is also good at ball-handling and finishing near the rim.
  • 2-Way Slashing Five. C eligible.
    • Good interior defender who is also good at ball-handling and finishing near the rim.
  • 3&D Point. PG, SG, & SF eligible.
    • Good perimeter defender who is also good at shooting 3’s
  • 3-Level Scorer. All positions eligible.
    • Can score inside, mid-range, and beyond the arc.
  • Offensive Threat. PG, SG, & SF eligible.
    • Good at all things offense – scoring inside, medium range and 3pt as well as ball- handling and passing.
  • Sharpshooter. All positions eligible.
    • Great at shooting mid-range and 3’s.
  • Playmaking Shot Creator. PG, SG, SF, & PF eligible.
    • Good at ball-handling, passing and shooting mid-range shots.
  • Post Scorer. PF & C eligible.
    • Great at scoring with their back to the basket.
  • Lockdown Defender. PG, SG, SF, & PF eligible.
    • Great all-around defender. The PG-SF are mostly perimeter. PF is mostly interior.
  • Defensive Anchor. C eligible.
    • Great interior defender (blocks, interior defense).
  • Paint Beast. SF, PF, & C eligible.
    • Good at scoring inside, interior defending and rebounding.

Once you’ve picked your Player Type, you will then get to pick your Body Settings. Height, Weight, and Wingspan will all affect your MyPLAYER’s attributes from the starting point to the Level 10 maximum.

And the last thing that you’ll be choosing is your MyPLAYER’s Primary and Secondary Takeover. As your player gets hot, these will fill up, first your primary and then your secondary. If you wait for both to fill up, then you can activate them both at the same time. You can learn more about the Takeover feature in our Courtside Report #3.

WNBA Player On & Off the Court

As touched upon in the intro, we felt it was important to let players experience what it means to be a WNBA player on and off the court. In order to do this, we built the mode on the foundation of a set of different pillars that track the progress of your MyPLAYER and the league.

The core progression is tracked through the following – Player Progression, Player Popularity, WNBA Popularity, Player Wealth, and Teammate Chemistry.

nba-2k21-wnba3

After you play your first game, now on your off day, you will notice you have three events to choose from. What you choose here depends on how you want to progress your career in The W. What’s important to you? Growing the league? Securing money now? Setting yourself up for a career after basketball? Or maybe you just want to try a little of everything. Every choice you make, you will see one of your five career pillars change, and with each level progressed across those five pillars you’ll receive in-game rewards as you go.

Progression

Progression is basically just how good your MyPLAYER is at playing the game of basketball. The primary way to level up your MyPLAYER is by earning MyPOINTS by playing and performing well in games. Like all career pillars, you can also participate in various off-court events during the regular season and later in the offseason that will help improve your MyPLAYER’s basketball skills, which also allows you to unlock and upgrade badges.

In addition to boosting your attributes and gaining badges, leveling up your Progression will also unlock new animations, the Jumpshot Creator, the ability to influence your team’s free agent and trade targets, your team’s minutes and rotations, and even jersey numbers.

Popularity

This one should be pretty clear – it’s how popular your MyPLAYER is and tracks how many fans you have at any given moment. You can earn fans by making highlight plays in games like and- 1s, buzzer beaters, clutch chasedown blocks on star players, and so on. Participating in off- court events that are designed to promote your personal fame will help you grow your star power even more.

The main goal in increasing your player’s popularity will be to earn endorsements, which earns you more money as well as game day shoes from the brand partnership you earn. These include Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Under Armour, Puma, New Balance, and Converse.page3image21991552

WNBA Popularity

As a WNBA player, it benefits you to help the league become more popular. You will have an opportunity to help grow the league, if you choose to, by doing various off-court jobs designed to help increase the overall popularity of the entire league.

When you do this, the league will evolve and there’ll be more National TV games that you can play in, which earns more personal fans than non-nationally televised games. It also produces increases to player salaries that will positively impact your wealth, which has benefits that we’ll get to…well, right now!

Player Wealth

Hey, let’s be honest, there is a little satisfaction in earning that paycheck. This career pillar tracks the growth of your player’s bank account; it includes money earned with your WNBA salary that gets paid out by playing WNBA games and from doing various jobs off the court.

Now let me drop a teaser here. Progressing your wealth will unlock exclusive gear to wear when competing in The W Online…more on that to come!

Teammate Chemistry

The last of the career pillars where we track your MyPLAYER’s progress is with Teammate Chemistry. This gauges how well you play with and get along with your teammates. You can increase this with a good in-game teammate grade or by spending time with your teammates on off-days. You’ll have to balance this with improving your own skills or popularity, that of the leagues, and increasing that number in your bank account.

Having a high Teammate Chemistry level will have some important game impacts, such as unlocking the Secondary Takeover (that we talked about in the MyPLAYER creation section above). It also unlocks the Team Takeover feature and the new feature of ‘Control All On-Court Players’ – that lets you play The W with full 5-player control like in Play Now instead of locked to your MyPLAYER. Furthermore, you can also unlock Accessories like armbands, socks, headbands, etc, that you can wear both in WNBA games and in The W Online.

Off-day and Offseason Jobs

What you choose to do off the court matters a lot in this mode and that’s where these off-day and offseason jobs come into play. This is where we get into the flavor of the WNBA. A lot of research went into defining what players do off the court and we had a lot of fun translating that into the game. I hope even the die-hard WNBA fans will find something new here.

What makes this league so amazing is the diversity of its players. The ways in which they market themselves, each other, and the league itself is varied and unique. Going over our research on what players do off the court that contribute to those five pillars we discussed above, we categorized these into five groups – Coach, Entrepreneur, Global Icon, Fashion Icon, and Influencer.

  • Coach: Think Kristi Toliver here. These jobs center on improving your knowledge and abilities in the game of basketball. Doing these will be beneficial mostly to your MyPLAYER’s Progression and sometimes Teammate Chemistry.
  • Entrepreneur: à la Jessica Breland. Learn how to run your own business and become better at making money. Doing these jobs will, of course, be most impactful to your player’s Wealth.
  • Global Icon: Basketball has worldwide appeal. These jobs are focused on reaching an international audience – both for your personal Popularity and the WNBA Popularity. We had Diana Taurasi in mind for this one.
  • Fashion Icon: Did someone say Liz Cambage? Fashion matters in sports and is an important part of the lives of fans and players. Doing fashion icon jobs will help your own Popularity and often give a boost to your Wealth.
  • Influencer: Just like Breanna Stewart or Candace Parker, athletes are influencers and the jobs in this category will help you influence your fans and gain new ones along the way.

As an added bonus, as you progress in these jobs, you’ll gain WNBA players as contacts who will send you texts to help you out along the way. To start your career you will hear from Nneka Ogwumike to help get you moving in the right direction.

The W Online

Ok, so what exactly is The W Online? Simply put, The W Online is a 3v3 multiplayer experience (exclusive to The W) where you can take your homegrown MyPLAYER and compete against other players and their MyPLAYERs. Once in the game, you will find yourself in arguably the most beautiful location to play in the game. If you want to see next gen visuals; this is the place to be.

Games played in The W Online will earn you MyPOINTS toward your player’s progression, but this is also where you get to show out. These street rules games to 21 are a stage to showcase your MyPLAYER. As you are progressing in your career, you are unlocking animations and exclusive clothing items for this experience. Once you unlock that coveted level 10 gear, The W Online is the place to go to show the world you’ve reached the pinnacle of your profession!

Please tell me this is not the only features reveal of today...

i hope not. i want see what does 2k add to My League mode. i am tired of waiting for 2k to reveal blog on My League
Hate to be that guy but....yawn 🥱 Waste of resources imo.
It’s going to be very frustrating when the WNBA create a player turns out to be 10x better and more customizable than the NBA portion...Just like how frustrating it is to see hair physics for WNBA players and not NBA players.
I’ll definitely play it. This is definitely an actual Career mode. Hopefully the NBA side gets a little bit deeper with the Career side of an NBA player

I believe the is a look at what's to come. NBA version should be deeper with more to experiences.

This is actually pretty dope. I like the off-season stuff

As someone with a daughter, it is dope to see attention like this paid to female-eccentric modes. I'm glad its not just a bare bones experience just to market it to females. Will I play it, probably not. But, it is really cool to see the addition and depth made for this mode.
But, I also hope MyCareer has this type of depth. It's been barebones for a long while.

enjoy it. don't force yourself to pay microtransaction in My Career if you don't like grind times to get VC coins
In before all the "waste of resources" comments..
I'm all in on this. Having a sandbox WNBA Franchise mode sounds so DOPE. I will definitely be checking this out.
I can't wait to see what they do with the NBA MyLeauge. If they made the WNBA this deep, I can only imagine the NBA side. I'm so ready!
While seemingly unrelated, this actually has me extremely encouraged for upcoming news on MyLeague.
I may end up feeling foolish for saying this, but I cannot imagine that they would put all this work into building out a career and franchise mode for WNBA, and leave MyLeague untouched. You have to think MyLeague was higher on the priority list, and if they got far enough down said list to tackle this, they must've put some real work into MyLeague. I've been pessimistic on upcoming MyLeauge news, thinking it will probably just be a smattering of quality of life improvements around the fringes. I'm letting myself dream a little bit more with this news.
As for WNBA league/career, I think a WNBA league could actually be a really interesting side project. And the career mode might actually get my wife to give 2K a shot, which would be wild. As long as other offline modes were not ignored in favor of these additions (we'll know soon enough), I dig it.

Exactly. If they paid this much attention to WNBA. Imagine what they did for MyLeague.
My daughter's too young now, but this would be a good bonding thing with her.

yeah i am worrying about NBA my League getting barebone on next gen version
I don’t think y’all understand that if they poured this much into the WNBA, then MyLeague (or MyNBA, which i assume it’s called now), and MyCareer won’t have just as much and maybe more poured into it. I expect changes to both modes, so I don’t see how this is a waste of resources. In my opinion this is a ray of hope that they actually did do something to the other modes.

Can’t help but feel like 2k is using this as an opportunity to test out a more defined archetypal system for MyPlayers like one could find in an Overwatch or DOTA type environment.
Interested to see how it plays out in the community.
My daughter asked me a while ago if girls ever play 2K, or if there were any female characters.
This will be cool for her and everyone else like her, older & younger...
I was hoping it was integrated with the main MyCareer platform, but maybe having its own world is better.

I know right? What you're saying makes the most logical sense to me, but for some reason a few folks are taking it the other way.

I just think the way that 2k is releasing information has people a little frightened. We still don’t know anything about MyCareer, Park, or MyLeague so they’re losing hope that anything has changed but 2k most likely saved the most anticipated modes for last. They’ve always been good marketers, they know people are waiting for it.

We have some of the most observant people I know around these parts.
Folks can spot if a 12th man on a team is missing a compression sleeve from the background of a trailer.
Drawing some logical conclusions in instances like this though? Impossible, lol

It sounds like what we've already had just with female characters, and a few more post game options to click...oh, and the jump shot creator seems to be locked again. Nice.
I actually thought the WNBA portion of 2k20 animated better than the men's side, but I don't think the interest in the league suggests this is the best integration.

They usually release information like this. They give us new info on the most popular game modes closer to the release date of the game. We are still 2 weeks away. I'm sure next week we will get MyLeague(MyNBA) and/or MyTeam news. And then the last week before the game is released is when they will give us MyPlayer news.

MyLeauge or MyNBA (whatever they're going to call it this year) is probably the next round of information we're going to be getting.
Then they'll cap it off with the MyCareer/MyWorld stuff a few days before release

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I wish rather than go the Wnba route, they would have continued to comit to euroleage integration. A few years ago, college teams were a thing in my career. I imagined we were heading to a game with Euroleague/College integration where we could potentially use either one as a path for our myplayers.
I imagined eventually being able to use Euro teams/College team rosters to create a semi accurate draft class.
But instead all of those resources went to something I have zero intrest in.
I would have heavily preferred Euro teams or college teams, but instead we got Wnba teams.
As someone with a daughter who enjoys playing the WNBA Mode, my daughter always ask, When are they going to make a female myplayer, this is really good and exciting news!  Glad to see the mode has expanded and truth be told, thought the WNBA players animated better in game than the NBA players :-)

Feel like this happens almost every year. People get impatient and panic when they don't get the news they want, then when 2K finally does reveal the updates to whatever mode people are interested in more often than not there is a list of things that were improved. It's usually rare for modes to receive little to no updates, except for next-gen years when current-gen versions don't receive major updates.
I could be wrong but with everything we've seen so far it would shock me if any mode turned out to be bare bones or unchanged
As for the WNBA mode, it's not quite for me but it's really cool to see the WNBA and women players in general get this sort of attention. There's enough content here for a separate, stand alone WNBA game.
Hey I'm all for it. I think its dope that WNBA getting their own game inside of the game. I'm hoping this means the NBA side will be even more crazier. Keep expanding your game 2k (ADD the G-League lol)
Something tells me the route they went with MyWNBA is also the way they'll be going with MyLeague/"MyNBA". It seems like they're willing to integrate the MyGM features, but I'm glad to see that none of them are mandatory (for now). Good on them for including an on/off toggle for the MyGM RPG elements.
Judging by the replies, I must have been one of the only ones hyped for an actual WNBA franchise mode, and that's okay. If it's anything like the MyLeague modes were last-gen, it will certainly be a unique diversion from the normal NBA.
The article didn't mention any expansion/relocation options, though. Holding out hope that I can put new teams in Toronto and Buffalo.
Here's hoping no major downgrades happen to MyLeague/"MyNBA"...it'll be awesome to run two entirely unique "basketball universes" at once.

100% Maybe some people are new here but I feel like we go through this every year. How often do we get to August, mid August and people are freaking out "the game is only out in a month or less and 2K hasn't shown is anything yet! Looks like this will just be a glorified roster update!"
Patience people. They've revealed a good amount the past few weeks and we still have 2 to go. Plenty of time. All they need to do it drop a simple blog. It's not like it takes a month to reveal this information.

Although true. I remember the days of getting info all throughout the summer. Not a month before release.
Okay, I 100% will be checking out MyWNBA and will run a Chicago Sky franchise. That much sounds actually pretty dope.
BUT, Everyone just wants the MyLeague, I guess its called MyNBA now, news. Give us what we want 2K.
I was kinda hoping for them to be part of regular Mycareer and park but knowing how toxic the community is and would react :y1: it's probably for the best it's kept seperate.
I might check it out whenever I get frustrated with regular MyCareer I probably won't put much time into it though but at least now I can play for a team in Seattle or Las Vegas.

It's been awhile since 2K has done that. At most we might get a tease in June around E3, maybe something in July like the cover athlete reveal and soundtrack, then August is usually the big month.
But man I remember way back for ESPN NBA 2k5 they had "Fear the Fro Fridays" where they had new info every Friday. And that probably started sometime in July. That was back when we would get some kind of trailer or gameplay during E3.
When they initially added the WNBA I thought that I would have been able to get into it. Since then though I honestly havent touched the WNBA much. Ill start a season and play a game here or there. This is a value add for me, something to get into during the dog days. I'm glad they fleshed out the female basketball experience more. NBA 2K appeals to a massive audience. I love this as a franchise type too because the heavy lifting is done. I think this bodes well for MyLeague or whatever they call it.

Props to 2k for pushing their game forward. They release a current gen version, build their next gen game from the ground up, now have two franchise and career modes available to play, etc. Madden will have nice graphics I guess? Lol
Sounds fantastic, I'll definitely give a go. Love the way it's not just a NBA MyPlayer reskin. I just hope there's a good Sabrina Ionescu scan in next gen because whoever on the team that tried to make her in current gen with the CAP tools clearly has never seen a picture of Sabrina Ionescu in their life
When are they going to fix the three second call in the lane. I actually timed someone online. They backed down and got off three pump fakes. I jumped at 2 of them. By the third pump fake I gave up. Then they attempted a layup.
    It's really out of control

Hate to be that guy but....yawn Waste of resources imo.
It’s going to be very frustrating when the WNBA create a player turns out to be 10x better and more customizable than the NBA portion...Just like how frustrating it is to see hair physics for WNBA players and not NBA players.

Then don't be that guy, it's pretty simple :)

I mean you shouldn't have to make a choice. WNBA is an NBA-related product in an NBA game so obviously it was going to win out here, but there's no reason they couldn't do a MyPlayer story with a more Euroleague route etc. in the future to integrate more of that if they want. The licensing maybe was cost prohibitive too in terms of boom for buck.

Chase and I were complaining for minute on this lol.

I'm STILL baffled the best playing part of the game wasn't available online for multiple seasons.
Why does the WNBA and in particular the W court gameplay look like “next gen” but everything we have seen of the nba portion of the game just looks like more or less a port from current gen?
The women’s body types & scale of shoes for example look so much better than the nba players.
Really hoping what we have seen so far in terms of outdated looking nba player appearances and same old shoes is from a really old build of the game or something
WNBA court looks like it has the lighting from the Zion trailer. We need that in the NBA portion as well.
Great to see the WNBA getting lots of love. Im looking forward to running a franchise.

They actually execute the 3 second rule pretty well...it's just that the 3 second rule (especially in the NBA) has a lot more nuance in it that rarely gets talked about.
Specifically, if the player in the lane is attempting to leave the lane after 3 seconds is up, that shouldn't be called. Similarly if the player is motioning towards the basket to shoot after the 3 seconds is up, that shouldn't be called either.
(bonus: the 3 second count resets every time the ball hits the rim)
I'm actually blown away most years how effectively 2K translates a fairly complicated rule book to their games.

I don't really agree with that sentiment. I agree that the Wnba being under the nba, makes it the easiest to implement. However, I'd argue that college teams and euro teams are much more relevant to the nba. 100% of the players drafted come from the college system or the euro system.
In addition euroleague integration allows them to do things like replicating the world championships/olympics. I don't even understand the point of having team Usa, without being able to face international teams. There's a lot that can happen simply due to those players being in the game. If they can get a vast number of euro & college licenses can you imagine the kind of draft classes we could get?
For me the wnba just seems like it's own thing, that doesn't really offer much.
I mean, I'm not saying I hate it's existence.. but seing 2k experiment with Euro teams and college teams, and end up putting that on the backbuner for the WNBA makes me very dissapointed
My guess is that they are saving the best two modes for last. I expect NBA My League News to come out early next week, maybe Monday or Tuesday, and the mode formally known as the Neighborhood news to come out later next week maybe Thursday.
    El_Tercero
They usually release information like this. They give us new info on the most popular game modes closer to the release date of the game. We are still 2 weeks away. I'm sure next week we will get MyLeague(MyNBA) and/or MyTeam news. And then the last week before the game is released is when they will give us MyPlayer news.

The game comes out on Tuesday the 10th, at this pace they are going to have to release the remaining info, My League, MyCareer/The Neighborhood, and My Team by the end of next week.

I don't think it's a question of relevance. Chase's point is that choosing between the two is a false choice and there's no real reason they can't have both, but the WNBA may make more sense right now because of the relationship to the NBA.
The NCAA, however, is an entirely different discussion and there's a very good reason that no NCAA sports games exist right now.
I appreciate 2k fleshing out the WNBA, though I hope in the future we could have the option of taking a female MyPlayer through the NBA in MyCareer. I also think more males will play this, especially online, than anticipated hoping to virtually hoop with other female hoops heads.
This WNBA blog makes me feel like they have did away with the pre determined story driven MyCareer mode? To me, it sounds like they are moving away from that to a sandbox type MyCareer mode, with no pre-determined story. I am all for this, them using the resources from story mode and putting it towards making a deeper MyCareer sandbox mode.

Same. Those melodramatic storylines have kept away from MyCareer altogether. Id love it to give it a whirl if they dropped all that nonsense

That would have my attention. I really enjoyed the original MyPlayer mode from the early 2010's and was super bummed to watch it morph into that forced B-movie direction. It'd be nice to see certain things veer back into semi-realistic sandbox territory.
Regarding the WNBA, whenever I get around to upgrading my system down the line, I'll appreciate this improvement. I had a lot of fun with the WNBA season this year and it sounds like the experience has been bolstered significantly.

I love playing with the WNBA teams 2K21. The gameplay is really good. Looking forward forward to playing with them in next gen.

The description B-movie is spot on lol. When I play myCareer the x button gets such a huge workout and audible sighs from me as I try to skip it all as much and as fast as I can! I'm surprised if anyone actually sits through it all it's SOOOO tedious. Hate is a strong word, but I hate all that stuff.
The things I hate about the MyCareer story is that it is very linear and doesn't allow you much choice. Just about everybody is going to get the same story and that sucks combined with the cheesiness of it makes it even worse. Then it just ends and goes nowhere.
I'm still convinced that Che did everything in 2k20 not for his teammate but because he knew he needed some more media attention in order to get drafted higher.
Very happy to see the W get a little bit more shine, if i cop a PS5 and end up getting 2K it's nice to know i'll be able to emulate my fave diana taurasi in myplayer
As great as this will be for some, it's not really anything i'll use.
Is there any additional info on any other modes or additions coming?
Still keeping my fingers crossed for the PS5 'Mamba forever' edition to actually contain something worth while in regards to Kobe. A new mode or some extra Bryant Laker teams would be great, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
If this is all there is, I'll probably stick to 2K20.

That’s a really interesting take on the 2K20 story. I could actually see it being a thing lol
With all respect to the WNBA, I don't understand why it has to be in NBA 2k.
I'd rather more an NCAA dynasty mode, or more International options. I just think it's a waste to have anything with the WNBA. Make a WNBA 2k game and see how many you sell.

WNBA is literally the sister league to the NBA. There is no WNBA to watch its revenue, whereas its inclusion in NBA2K is a mutually beneficial relationship.
If you have no interest in it, just ignore it. There's interest in it for others, and the revenue 2K garners from it as a result is almost certainly not a "waste" in any imaginable way.
