Wondering why Donovan Mitchell has a mid 70s in ball control

How the hell is this possible?!!! I don't see how they don't think this is BS. The fact that Ben Simmons can get to the basket like LeBron James and The Greek Freak. I don't see how this is possible.

    UnbelievablyRAW
Siakam still slower than JV. Good job 2k!

This rug has been beaten to death. It makes no sense.
I did notice the current Nets got an update. Happy about that.

It's crazy to see guys like Saric have the same ball control rating as Mitchell while both TJ McConnell and Jae Crowder have higher ball control ratings 🤦🏽*♂️

Right?! We're talking about a guy who people think is co rookie of the year. Dude been killing on pick and rolls. But Ben has what a 86 resting dribbling (last time I checked). With a 90 driving layup. I've been playing the sixers a lot in pno. Just like LeBron. I've played people who won't kick it out to open shooters lol.

Yea Mitchell has a solid layup rating, it's just that his ball control rating stands out like a sore thumb. He's actually rated pretty well otherwise, his contact dunk is way too high though

It's actually 50 which is not that bad.
Also man how hell do you rate player like Derrick Favor after his last game. He got 2 three in their last game. Here's current rating is open 48. He's shooting 22% from 3 during the regular season. He only taken 63 three all season lol. And only made 14. Reminds me of when Paul Milsap hitting dragger vs Heat after never shooting or hitting more then one 3 his whole career. Like WTF lol.

Could’ve sworn Mitchell’s contact dunk was in the 70s like Giannis last time I checked. I think it should be more around Dame’s rating then even a guy like Westbrook
Semi Ojeleye's defensive stats need huge improvements, 59 on ball D, 54 shot contest to name a few, but lat quickness, def. consistency (35!) and reaction time all need increasing. We've all seen what he's been doing.
Same for Aaron Baynes but perhaps to a lesser degree. 51 shot contest? He's not the best defensive center but give him some credit! Bayne's physicals such as lat quickness and speed (42 and 44), need a little boost too.
Big men's ball control needs looking at imo. Towns 65, Horford 50, Embiid 40? All are capable at handling, I would definitely say Horford is the most capable though, he shoud have high 60s/low 70s when you look at other centers such as Towns with 65.
I also think the hustle rating needs looking at. Hassan Whiteside looks like he ain't bothered about diving for that loose ball, why does he have 95? Players like Marcus Smart/TJ McConnell should have 95 hustle.

I said that earlier in the season about a few big men....... I don't think Horford should be more then 55 personal. He does a lot of dribble hand offs. But not creating his own shots. Embiid is the that's shocking.
I've been able to do this with Embiid at 40.

I don't know how much more you could raise it. Without it being over blown.
I think of players like Cousins and Jokic who dribble the ball a lot for their teams.

Horford definitely handles the ball almost as much as any center in the league. He runs the break if he catches the rebound and his man is out of position. Also, he has been running the offense from time to time.

But he doesn't create offense like the above. That's why his rating is so low. He does hand offs. Not rebound and go full court.
Are we talking about plays like this

and like this... Even at 40 rated dribble you can do this as long as your off dribble shooting rating is in a good place.

    More recently...

    https://youtu.be/S2jfey4J62E?t=41s
https://youtu.be/E9e6t0_W3WI?t=11s Watch after this play... He just bring the ball down. Nothing happening here. And then he turns his back to go into a post. That's not ball handling
I still say no in my humble opinion. Most of his dribble are created off his jumper. Which again. Is created because defenders are closing out on him and are off balance. And he drives off those mistakes. You can do that with him now.
He's not these guys? Who I think are at around 75 ratings for ball handle.
I hope Toronto fans see why Beds hasn't been respecting the Raptors all year despite their regular season record. I hate to pile on but it is the cold hard truth.
