And it will be direct feed HD footage.
If I'm 2K, that would be my preference over letting these vids come out haha....

    Agreed lol....but hey smh
Maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, but in these two sets of celly videos the new motion system seems totally legit. I'm not seeing any of the signature 2K hitches and missteps.
I'm not feeling it tbh. Still seeing a lot of unnecessary animations and player movements and there's still a whole lot of sliding around. Kind of a bummer because I had really high expectations up until this point

Players still move around on defense like they're on ice smh
I don't want to jump the gun and make a harsh verdict on this footage but when you have to look hard to find differences/improvements then something mustn't be right.
I was pretty excited with the gameplay blog and the new classic team reveals but raw footage like this ins't a good look. $40 for NBA Live 18 is looking pretty good right now if this is a reliable indication of what's represented in the final product.

For a game that comes out annually, you'd expect much changes look & feel wise (which I'm sure is there) but I'm just not wow'd by it.

And you never really will be with videos of this quality.
2K needs to really look into releasing higher quality vids before ghetto footage leaks out every year....
I personally don't take much from these vids, but clearly some people do.... and the thoughts are often negative in those instances.

Watch from around 0:30-0:35 and you can clearly see a defensive player warp and slide back into guarding position which is something they SPECIFICALLY said was removed from the game
Smfh. This is legitimately 2k17.5 i'm calling it right now.
He even says himself around the 0:40-0:50 mark that he also thinks it's the same game and that the animations they're saying are gone are still in the game. Pisses me off man

Honestly, that is me, can't even deny it. But clearly in these videos, what we're seeing, is what we're getting. I can't say the look & the feel of the game has/hasn't improved, but from what I'm witnessing, it's not enough for me to make the purchase.

A user on here named Poloelite played it today and said that they told him the version they were playing was an old build so who knows -kanye shrug-

People didn't want to believe it. The guys who were invited to 2K headquarters all said it was 2K17.5. Now we have proof. Luckily, we have the Prelude, so we can play ourselves soon.
I honestly think this generation of gaming is overrated I miss my 360 these games look better but the old systems played better to me

From a pure fun and gameplay standpoint, 2k11 is still light years ahead of any other game since it's release (in my honest opinion)

People have been saying this ".5" stuff off of shaky cam footage for years...It's one complaint that never actually carries over to release.
    Trust the Pre Release Process
I personally cant even bring myself to check these out tbh
And that folks is how you nullify a gameplay blog. 2k should learn by now that we need official footage to actually see the changes first hand from the devs themselves.
    *sigh* someday....

I really don't get why 2K doesn't let the guys who they flew out to play the game early just capture footage and upload it to their channels. The gameplay here in this shaky cam footage looks complete trash, but i'm almost 100% sure this isn't an accurate representation of 2K18. You'd think they would know people would record off screen footage at playable events like they did with this video. Why not just release captured gameplay from when annoying tv, dman, and the other guys went out? I don't know man. The whole thing just seems *** backwards to me.
This shaky cam stuff isn't a good look man. Since this is the only true 5v5 gameplay we've seen, this is all we can form our opinions off of. So far my opinion is that the game looks kinda garbage. I hope we get HD Footage soon people.

Yeah I couldn't agree more with this.
I mean, we know this happens every year. But it doesn't change the fact that it's crap every time.
Way I see it, 2K has 3 real options with this.
    1. Pre-empt the rubbish footage by showing better quality footage first (as per above post) - let's face it, this will NEVER happen
    2. Tighten the screws on the leaked phone ghetto rubbish footage that seems to do nothing but make some people nervous. I mean, check phones at the door or something. Surely this couldn't be that hard....
    3. Leave everything as is (I'd bank on this being the chosen path)
But logically speaking, it just doesn't make sense that a company that treats marketing with such importance prior to it's games release, lets these POOR representations of the game leak out and create degrees of panic.
I've seen a few posts today that say "not buying anymore" and "2K17.5" etc. etc.
And for the record, I personally watch them because I check out everything pre-release. And I am not influenced the slightest by ghetto footage. I will buy the game every year guaranteed.
I just don't understand 2K allowing vids like this to exist.
    lakers24
Exactly. This hasn't stopped or changed anything and the sales prove it. We literally have the same discussion EVERY year.

I guess I just feel bad for the folks who are letting these vids sway a purchase decision....
It may not be much, but reading the threads today, it does seem like some people have decided against buying 2K18 as a result of these vids.

It's crazy cuz these are supposed to be fans but you're easily thrown off by terrible quality gameplay vids of casual gamers runnin n gunnin on rookie? Especially when 2K follows this identical pre-release timeline nearly every year.
Even seen some say they've been playing since Dreamcast days but a shaky video completely destroys the purchase for them. Just wild to me.
2K18 will be a day one purchase for me like all the others have been.:drink:

Probably just the emotion kicking in. Running the July/August/September gauntlet can be grueling for some I guess.
Meh. I'm buying it, day 1 aswell. No question.

im one of those folks who have played since dreamcast but i cancelled my preorder a LOOOOONG time ago (about a month or 6 weeks ago if not longer). im not buying 2k (maybe used) because im burnt out on the "maybe next year 2k wont/will do xyz". as a consumer the only voice i have is my money. i hope 2k18 is greatest basketball game ever cause then it will give me hope to maybe return for 19. but this year, ill be with other game the majority of the time and discussing/lurking around these parts.
Yup, like most of you said, still a day 1 purchase... it's still the best basketball video game in the market, isn't it? Sure, we can all argue about how all these legacy issues linger, how there's not much improvement over the previous iterations, panoply of VC issues, etc. Or even how the other game seems to have made such a big leap and is coming for the crown (and I like that there is viable competition)... but until 2K gets unseated from the throne and proves itself unworthy, that 8.5M will be maintained (and probably grow), and they'll have my pesos the earliest the game is available here in the PI (a week early last year for 2k17)

i dont know sir lol. this is the first year im on the "not buying 2k" kick. but if i end up getting and enjoying the game i will be honest and give 2k their props! i WANT 2k18 to be great.
however i have no hope to expect different from what theyve been releasing lately..
but if im wrong i will GLADLY eat crow lol

2K16's pre release blurry footage meltdowns were 2x worse, lol. The 2K15.5 was so over the top.

I don't understand why people are so quick to jump to conclusions. There is just under 3 weeks until release, people don't need to make a decision on a purchase yet. The game isn't going anywhere or selling out. If people are in the fence wait until it releases, or atleast for more gameplay and the prelude, and then make a decision.
I also don't know why people expect the game to look completely different, especially from leaked shaky-cam footage. Most 2Ks look very similar, it's the feel and the way the game plays that changes.

Calling it 2k17.5 was a bit over dramatic, but what i meant is that they still have all these animations with sliding and warping defenders back into guarding positions which is something they clearly said was gone from the game.
And you can definitely see it at 0:30-0:35. It has nothing to do with the camera quality being bad or the fact that these guys are casuals who aren't playing the game correctly

Love that I'm seeing the ball being lost off the dribble.
Love 2k17 dribbling into a defender you lose the ball.
But these will be nerfed to oblivion because of the community lol. Oh well. Slider tweaks.

    It's a shame.

Honestly, if they're letting these horrible quality vertical cam videos sway them into not buying, they weren't going to buy in the first place.
Most likely they had already made up their mind weeks, or even months, ago and are just using these threads to let everyone know of their "big" decision to not get the game. At best they were on the fence with both legs dangling on the "not buying" side.
These people are in the super extreme minority. 95% of people who buy 2k don't even know these shakycam videos exist. They get their info from 2k's Facebook/Twitter and the occasional ShakeDown2012 or Chris Smoove youtube video.

I agree, man those videos are so bad quality wise.
How can anyone make a decision based on those videos.
I also agree with many posters, why the hell would 2k allow these videos to be posted.
I prefer ordered a while ago, and happy with my pre order.

^^^i agree with most of what you guys are saying. this is the 1st year i wont be buying 2k (at least new) or VC because im frustrated with 2k. but if i turn around sept 15th and cave - i really wasnt that frustrated to begin with and it was a bunch of "itching and moaning" for no reason and id look like a clown 😂
i forget who said it, but youre right i made my decision in June/July no matter what was promised for 2k18 i wasnt gonna buy it new. let my proam team know and everything. they ALL STILL CLOWN ME and have taken bets ill be playing 2k brand new VC and all on the 15th lol. one of my homies was like "coach will have the legend gold edition, dont trip on what he talking about". so even they dont believe me, but ive never said i wasnt buying 2k before this year. i was always the guy saying "2k WILL fix xyz next year! i put $ on it"
i reeeeeaaally hope 2k18 is everything its promised, ive just reached a point - that THIS year i cant do it. but if the game turns out to be everything thats promised now, ill have my normal faith in them for 2k19.
wont make sense to alot of folks, and thats all good. i still like talking about the game with all you cause ive been doing it forever. my only voice to express my frustration is not buying the game new or the VC this year.
but in ALL honesty if Live wasnt out this year LMAO idk if id be able to stay strong LMAO😂

COACH....we got that you arent buying NBA 2K18 man....It's cool!

aight fellas, aight. im off it i aint think yall heard me (JUST KIDDING)
no more crying from me lol - ill keep my hurt 2k feelings to myself BUT I'll still be lurking, when i see something i like...imma comment again.
It may be shaky cam footage but that only affects the graphics element. Nobody here is complaining about the graphics. The complaint is about animations that are still clearly in the game. It doesn't matter how shaky the screen is or how bad the quality is, I can still see the same animations happening.
The only hope is that this is an old build.
    Mweemwee
If this ain't 2K17 footage then I seriously ain't buying it. This is identical to last year in every way. Disappointing.

This is what I mean when I say I can't comprehend why 2K lets this sort of footage leak. Another dissatisfied viewer.
Hey Mweemwee, did you see the Kobe/Garnett trailer today? The gameplay on that looked great IMO. Maybe have a look - definitely not looking just like 2K17 there.
I know it doesn't make a difference to me personally, just trying to help a disappointed fan :).
