One bugaboo of mine has been corrected which is the Wind Direction being fixed.
    My other two:
    * CPU not subbing out position players during Spring Training Games
    * When defensively subbing out a player, the incoming player has their body and skintone, but has the player they are replacing's face/skintone

I'm guessing that will be fixed thru a roster update... Hopefully this week we get the OD update!

    I haven't caught this one?

The real big ones are Acuna and Gurriel Jr have 0.000 as service time.
Houston has talked with SDS about this, said fix is coming very soon.
So we have complaints all over the place and not 1 common 1 I’ve read about was addressed....... these patches tend to be meaningless in modes that don’t involve online/xp and $$$$

Believe me, there was plenty of complaining about the state of Pure Analog throwing.
New presentation cams now working with quick counts!
Only downside is i set them as highreel (i thinks thats whats its called) but it shows up on the 1st pitch of every at bat.
I really only want to see it on key moments.
But great that they patched them in.
The standard boilerplate "various other bug fixes and adjustments" is always both vague and intriguing. It also sometimes has far more impact than the things they detail and is evidence the do listen to user feedback.

They definitely did not fix foul tips on very late and very early swings. So wondering what adjustments were exactly made? Game seems to play exactly the same pre and post patch.

guess we are stuck waiting another month before we can potentially start a franchise with issues of the lack of subbing in spring and the service time mishaps? every year its something that prevents u from starting day 1 and its not even a concern for sds apparently...….:34: so frustrating
Since the patch I'm seeing way too many hits up the middle and to center field. Hit the pitcher twice in one game. The game speed seems faster too. Animations and the way the fielders throw seems way off to me

I Really hope this isn’t true. The game was playing great and the stupid hitting the pitcher was so much less frequent. Please tell me they aren’t fixing one thing and messing gameplay up.
Have others experienced this? Is it not worth downloading it?

Not my experience. Game plays the same after the patch as it did prior to the pitch. Aside from the first AB when I first got the game, I have yet to hit the pitcher again.

Quoting myself here, but neither of these bugaboos were fixed in this patch.
I was hoping at least the switching faces/skintones would've been fixed, but not yet.

Not true. The addition of the pre-pitch presentation and gameplay are top notch. Gameplay has not changed. I haven't had a ball hit the pitcher yet and continuing after the patch had the CPU make a nice grab and also had the ball go right by the pitcher into CF.

My hitting is fine and so is my fielding, but just like you have experienced Greinke getting hit twice up the middle within 2 innings. I chalk up as an anomaly and hit timing perhaps. Mind you, those were the early innings and not once after in 2 games.

That's why I hold off until later to buy the game. What's the point of starting a season in franchise until the V2 release of OSFM? You'll have patches released by that time that fix quirks with the game as well along with a quality slider to choose from. I don't see the need to start a season ASAP only to start a new one after the second version of OSFM is released. I just keep playing '18 and keep up with the news and notes on '19.

This where the carryover save has been a godsend for me. I haven't started a new franchise since MLB 14. I'm 11 seasons in and am just able to fire away upon launch. I feel for the people that specifically want to attempt to replicate 2019 but Personally I've had a blast just cranking out seasons.

Ya I know but I like to play every game and it’s a long season to try to get in a 8/9 month period if I wait until May to even start, be nice to see a game be released once without baffling oversights that the community notices within hours of playing, QC seems to be lax in today’s video game market

You can, choice between all cam or pitcher/batter only.
Normally when choosing highreel frequency they should only appear in key moment but as mentioned this isn’t the case, they come up ever at bat which i do not want.
So i switched to rarely and now i don’t see them at al.
I need to mess with this a bit more.

As others have said, im also glad they really touch gameplay and just fixed some wonky animations. The big one for me was the PA announcer.

Yes, he sounds waaaay better now.

Anyone know if the dotted/disappearing foul lines were fixed?

About this (and I saw the screenshots over on Show Nation, I'm guessing you posted them here as well):
Do these dotted lines clear up when you get closer to the foul lines? It seems to me like these are actually jaggy lines due to no anti-aliasing (normally it's present on any textures, but when it's on a thin line shape you get something like this).
Also, if you happen to have a PS4 Pro and can turn on Supersampling, do that and try putting the in-game video option to Sharper. It's almost guaranteed to run extremely choppy (and probably unplayable), but I bet the lines look more like solid lines from a distance. At least it would clear up the issue of what this problem is.
Since patch release, it is no longer possible to play the game with a friend via shareplay.
    Has the feature been disabled?
Always play a franchise with my buddy via Shareplay -.-

I have played maybe 8 games total and it the majority of my hits have been up the middle, and I have hit the pitcher 3 times. none of the pitchers came out of the game, even though one got hit right in the head.

Thanks for the reply, bcruise. Yes I’m fairly certain they do clear up when closer as they’re fine when batting/pitching and when the ball is in play. It’s only from those cams that they appear dotted.
Yes, I have a Pro. Do I need to run in 1080p (in the PS4 output settings) for supersampling to take effect? I tried running in Sharper at 4K (no SS), but the dotted/jaggy chalk lines were still there.
It’s weird it’s happening this year, but I don’t recall it being this bad in 18.
edit: just tested by going into replay, and the lines get dotted as you go further, and you can reproduce 100%.

Much appreciated. Thank you, my man.
Here is a video I took so you can see how ugly the foul/batter/coaching lines are in motion. Check the end especially when it shows the score at the end of the inning. It's worse when the dots along the line appear to be moving like that:

edit: went back and tried the same thing in 18 and it happens there as well (tho perhaps not quite as badly) so it probabaly won’t be fixed. I guess the new pre-pitch cams make it stand out more, plus I only played a pitcher in 18’s RTTS, so I didn’t see how bad it was in the fielding and baserunning cams.
I’ve only hit the pitcher once since I got the game. Drilled him in the back and the ball went about 20 feet in the air. When it landed the pitcher was on the ground and I had a single.

"Added a 2018 NL East Champion pennant flag to Atlanta SunTrust Park"

they must've put it somewhere other than on the light tower above the Chop House, with all the other flags

I have looked everywhere as well. If they put it up, they hid it.
In 11 games pre- patch: 0 times hitting the pitcher and a few hits up the middle.
In 2 games post- patch: 5 times hitting the pitcher and 6 additional hits up the middle.
    Can't be a coincidence.

Thank you man. Offline hitting seems so whacked after patch for me. It feels like no weight off the bat anymore either. Maybe the rumble is different when I hit, lol not sure but something has changed.

My carryover from 2018 resets a ton of contacts as soon as I start an offseason in 2019 (franchise season 2033). Guys who should be free agents or who are halfway through long-term deals are now in the first year of their contracts. Everything set to manual. Clearly a bug of some kind and not related to any settings I need to adjust.
Have you reached an off-season with your carryover save?
I haven’t seen anyone else express this issue, but I can’t find a way around it. Wasn’t addressed with the patch.
(I did report this to SDS via their big reporting site, but not early enough that I would’ve expected a change this quickly if it isn’t a common issue.)

It will be nice if they add the MLB 150 anniversary patch on all MLB TEAMS on the hats is only right they added it on the jerseys why not the hats 🤷*♂️

I watched the Braves game earlier tonight and I noticed that many guys didn't have the 150 logo on their hats today. I noticed the logos the other day though, so I guess it's realistic to not have the logos.

I believe the MLB 150 patches on the hats were an Opening Day only thing. The jersey patch will be worn all year.

The logo on the hats was supposed to be Opening Day only. The logo on the jerseys is season long.
Played my first game post-patch. The PA announcer sounds a bit too loud to me now. And I didn't see the Braves division title banner either.

Yeah but I just started a franchise and no hat logo on opening day, that would've been a nice touch as far as the game is concerned.

Yeah, I think you figured out most of what I was going to say (that it's not just a problem with this game, and that it's unlikely to be "fixed"). This is definitely aliasing or what's more commonly known as "jaggies". I think what's going on is that when viewed at certain angles the chalk lines can get so narrow that when they have jagged edges, they lose their shape and become what you're seeing in the screenshots. It doesn't look like that all the time from all angles - in behind the plate camera views the chalk lines show up crisp and smooth for example. But I definitely see it in those screenshots, and in my own game as well.
So, here's the problem. The only ways to fix that are to up the resolution and/or add anti-aliasing, and that comes with a performance cost. Without dragging the framerate issues thread over here, I will say that I feel like the game already suffers at times in this area as it is. So trying to make those thin lines smooth would likely make the game run worse.
The reason I mentioned turning supersampling on was because that's the only way I could be sure that the 3 in-game video options were activated - only TV's with a higher resolution than 1080p can take advantage of those options when SS is off. But when it's on, even I can see a difference in the three settings on my 1080p monitor. But as I mentioned, I did try this from the same views you showed and I could still see the jagged/dotted lines on Sharper, so I doubt that can really fix it.

Thanks for taking the time to write up such an in-depth answer. I do 90% of my gaming on PC, and as you know jaggies aren't an issue there with modern gfx cards and even low AA settings. I pretty much only play The Show on PS4, so when I see stuff like this, it really stands out compared to my PC (God, I wish Sony would just release a PC version, but I digress lol).
But yeah, even with AA completely off on PC, I don't think I've ever seen jaggies quite this bad , where the lines become so blatantly dashed or dotted looking (at least not recently, as nowadays you almost don't even need AA if you run at high res, and if you do have jaggies they just look a bit pixelated). I guess we just have to pray the PS5 comes along soon and can match even fairly modern PCs.
I almost wish the foul lines would disappear when they get to that point. I think I'd prefer that over the moving, dotted look.
But yeah, thank you again bcruise, I really appreciate your answer and always enjoy reading your posts.
Nothing about receiving arm strength attributes while playing in the field in RTTS? As of right now, the only way you can increase arm strength is by doing a training session.

Well it makes sense that it would require training.
Well first game post patch I experienced 4 routine plays that ended up being errors. I didn't see any of that stuff playing the first 20 games in exhibition, but once I fire up my first game in franchise what do you know.
After buying this Game since inception, Im offended at the fact that the non acknowledgement of Frame Rate Issues has not been addressed. At least admit it and have an explanation to the hundreds that have posted about it, We would rather be playing the game then on here complaining. But its years of money spent, and it's just not right. If something can be done, just let us know your working on something and You know of the issue. Frame Rate Issues are unacceptable these days in my opinion. They should make the games as well as they can with the hardware available. its a necessity for a video game retail... Sorry, just very disappointed after waiting so long, then stepping back a year..
    JHodges57
Well it makes sense that it would require training.

I know that. If it’s designed to not give you attribute points during the game then so be it. Just find it strange that literally every attribute as a position player can be earned while on the field, except arm strength.
    LoadStar81
My RTTS character once dinged the other pitcher in the coconut, and the pitcher was taken out as a precaution.* So there is at least that.

Yeah I lost Strasbourg for the season in franchise to a skull fracture. He took one off the noggin. Strangely I was able to finish the game but immediately after I got notification he was out 5-6 months
