  1. He opened by saying more are coming throughout the day which is great to hear.
First impression is that the black level seems to be way too high. Could be his setup, but that's been a problem with 1 PM games in the past.

Can’t even get hyped for gameplay videos, most of us will be playing in 23 hours lol.
Now that looks MUCH better then the beta videos floating around YT so far.
Maybe it's his TV settings or I don't know what but graphics wise it looks very, very nice.

The beta looked nice too, it does look even smoother and presentation wise has been cleaned up some since the beta.

Is it me or does the PA announcer seem louder than past Maddens? I actually like it & seems to add a nice touch to the presentation.

I noticed that right away! Love it. I turn off the announcers; can’t stand them. It’s so much better just hearing the PA announcer along with the players.
Is anyone else concerned about the lack of defense?! Between franchise and an apparent lack of defense I’m more than content to wait and see if next gen has more to offer.

Guess I wasn’t aware comp mode played that much different. Hope to see an improvement with SIM mode.
Out of all the possible things they could have taken from NCAA 14, I can't believe they went with "showing the two teams playing against each other in the broadcast intro before the game has actually been played".

Don’t hold your breath for improvements to pass coverage. It’s been that way for years, if defender reacted properly people would be made they can’t throw for 400 yards a game

I've honestly never have even come close to throwing that many yards on any Madden game, nor have I ever really needed to lol!

    and they are so varied

    -.-
With the intro changes and the new "Move the Chains" style for transitions/wipes, I think it's safe to say broadcast presentation took a step backwards this year. There's a cruel irony in the fact that a series named after a broadcaster has never been able to get presentation quite right.

It seem so “unprofessional” in the sense that we see nothing like that on Sundays. It makes sense in the Yard though

Completely agree. The swipe that says Sack Lunch. Just awful. Never would that ever be in an NFL broadcast. The intros are so unrealistic as well. Highlights before the game happens. It all looks like a WWE intro video vs an NFL game.

I gave them feedback about changing that wipe to something besides Sack Lunch, glad they listened

I mean, I guess. Compared to other titles EA has on the same engine they obviously aren't too concerned with graphics.

I'm sure we can spend the majority of our time messing with sliders than actually playing the game, again.
I appreciate the post and seeing more video but I'm sold that I can come back here every few months to see if there is some kind of "breakthrough" on sliders, but I will absolutely not be spending money for another update.
I have to say I don't like this at all.
The intros are a strong reason for me not to buy madden 21 and to stay at 20.
How the teams enter the stadium is part of football. I really liked that in madden 20 and I hoped that EA would improve it when I heard about cinematic intros. But typically EA I hoped for nothing.

Madden wasn't named after a broadcaster. It was named after COACH Madden. Won a SB. Then he became a broadcaster.......put some respect on that man lol

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware of and acknowledge Madden's accomplishments as a coach. But he was also an iconic broadcaster for nearly three decades, and that quip was just pertaining to broadcast presentation.
Mind boggling as to why EA hasn't updated or improved the sidelines over the years. With all that money they are raking in, you would think they would spend time improving this part of the game. Disappointing.

Admittedly I did not watch the entire video but from what I saw, pass coverage seems too easy... just like it was last year after 127 patches.

    I think it was 128 actually :)
In general I think the gameplay looks smooth and the graphics look nice this year. I'm very interested to see what the next gen "leap" is going to be in a few months. I'm going digital for this and FIFA so that I can upgrade consoles if they do a good enough job with it.

I believe you get the next-gen upgrade even if you go physical.
Graphics look great but for the most part it’s still the same game like every other year. Gameplay isn’t very good, loads of glitches, Franchise mode was barely touched and it looks like they spent more time on the Yard than the game itself and it’s sad. They’ve had the ESPN license for years and I don’t understand why they don’t use it to it’s full potential. Its too bad we can’t have competition again because that’s when Madden was at its best and it’s just gone downhill after they got the license
