Just FYI, talked to one of the devs, the Hurricane moved some of the dates back for this schedule of release.

That would be more than acceptable if it was announced before the middle of September was all but gone.

How far back? Still coming this month or not?

Dorian shouldn't have delayed anything by more than a week. Orlando received minimal-to-no impacts from the Hurricane.

They still closed the studio for several days. That's going to set progress back no matter what the actual impact of the storm was.

Right. Which is why any storm-related delay shouldn't be more than a week. Tiburon hey closed normally on Friday Aug 30th, reopened Thurs Sept 5th. That Monday was Labor Day, a day off, so Tiburon only missed 2 days of work.
A week delay in deliverables makes sense.
Some really, really good stuff in here. Big highlights for me are the Hit Stick nerfs and the AI time management updates. Good stuff. Psyched about this. They're cranking these updates out every week it seems like.
Got a quick quarter in (i work at home)
Solid looking patch and you can really see that the focus is indeed on the tackling. I saw way less kill shots and much more wrap ups. It felt like perhaps they took some of the WWE out a bit.
The one quarter i played (small sample size) just felt more natural as far as animations go (again, noted in the patch)
Overall, I applaud EA for these patches. Really make the game better.
I'm always for a gameplay patch and less about mode updates so i like what i see so far.
This should make folks happy - Fixed an issue sometimes preventing AI-controlled teams from properly using their timeouts at the end of a half
Hopefully this means if I play the Vikings in my Franchise I won’t fumble 4 times because of Harrison Smith 1 ok, but 4?

Have the draft picks been updated? The dolphins should have a lot more than they do currently in game. Thanks

I would say no. They never update them during the yr offline.
I played one game post patch ( I played Offense Only) and it played well, lost as Washington at home against the Browns 30-9.
I had one issue on the play call screen. I went to Gun, then selected a formation and then down to the play screen. I clicked the D-Pad left or right to go to another formation but it either would take me out of the Gun set to a FG or single back set or just show me a blank grey box. I only had time for one game so I will check again but if anyone is playing see if you can do this.
Fixed an exploit with pump-fake mechanic

Glad this was addressed. Boundary zone cornerbacks were routinely being made fools of with pump fakes in nonsense situations previously.

Pretty much made stock cover 3 unplayable against anyone who knew about it.
Can someone see if they happened to fix the Niners endzone back to the proper one that was included on the launch of M20. Im not holding my breathe and I realize that stuff like endzone art can be a bit trivial but that they had the right endzone at launch (helmets and Quentin old school font) and update 1.1 screwed it up. I brought this up to moonlightswami and other devs on twitter and rather quickly I was told they would fix it. It’s now been 4 updates since.

I'm definitely waiting on the extra scenarios before starting a more involved franchise. Kraelo actually responded to me on twitter and said he would check with the team and see if they have any updates on that. The original release schedule said the update to the scenario engine was scheduled for mid September.

Bad enough I am kind of waiting to see how the Ramsey and Gordon situations play out. I want my Franchise roster as close to real life as possible
Interested to see if the "tackle improvements" also fixed a lot of the after tackle clipping with players stepping right through players bodies lying on the field, rolling right through the legs of lineman, etc.
Also no mention of user Game Options & Visual Settings not saving in Play Now...
Edit: Just checked & settings are STILL not saving...Unbelievable. Do they not know that this is a problem?
Also players are still completely walking through bodies after tackles smh. This is such an immersion killer & Madden will always be lackluster until they fix this. It was fixed in Madden 16 so it's not like that can't do it.
I just don't understand why they can't include a roster update with proper picks in a title update/patch for offline franchise. Frustrating.
And I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but since launch, when editing a players position I have to do it twice to get it to take/move them. This update didn't fix that.

Lol I lost a game last night, head-to-head in simulation (in person) and cpu Jamal Adam's forced 3 fumbles in a 5 min qtr game against me.
When they going to address injuries? I played 3 seasons 60 minute CFM simulation coach mode, and I have not seen an OFFENSIVE or DEFENSIVE LINEMAN have an in-game injury on either team. I've seen plenty skill players and Linebackers go down, but NO OL or DL! Not one. M19 was prefect in terms of the distribution of injuries. Why is nobody bringing this issue up? M20 has turned into a over-hyped arcade game.

Still no fix for kicking meter disappearing late in game.

Thank god we got one week left till the new college football comes out.
Played madden last night didn't pay attention to the meter not being there started the kick and missed the field goal and lost my game late in the 4th quarter.
My bad for thinking it would be fixed after patch 1.13

I know exactly what you're talking about. It happened to me once a long time ago during situational 4 minute offense. All formations brought up FG.

Finally, actual tackling, instead of nothing but bodies launching like missles . Excellent

Have you played the game after patch or your comment are based on the notes only? Could someone confirm tackles are more realistic now instead of WWF (old guy) type?

They're never going to fix this. After 4 patches, they either don't know how or they don't care to put in the time. Aren't our new endzones permanent moving forward in real life? Why even leave the old endzone coding in the game?
Call me weird, but this one just really gets to me. I've been fortunate to not have a lot of the issues others have (kicking meter, too many fumbles, etc), but this one, to me, is the kicking meter for others. It's been a long while since 49ers fans had something to be excited about, and for me it was the new endzones, as dumb as that sounds.

THIS ^^^ Harrison Smith is OP with xfactor on. Also looks like they fixed the hidden dev trait glitch where the downs reset every game. literally killed my first franchise w/ the Giants and they're my favorite team. Looks like im restarting.
Did notice a welcome change regarding tackling. I was user-engaged in a tackle attempt and 2 of my defenders branched in and both affected the outcome of the tackle. This would not have happened previously, as only 1 of the defenders would have been truly involved, while the other would have simply rag-dolled to the ground. Unfortunately, when running against the CPU, I am still only seeing 2 tacklers being able to affect my user ballcarrier. They still have a ways to go regarding tackling, but it does at least "look" more natural and organic.
Also, as was needed, arm-bar stiff arm very much tuned down. As much fun as I loved using this mechanic with Zeke, it was OP. I can still pull off some nasty stiff arms, but timing is now essential as I believe it should be.

I brought this up to Dustin/KANE/Equipment Guru on Twitter after 1.13 and he said they were “on top of it”. The optimist in me hopes that they’ll use the 2019 version of the end zone (some red in the font, no helmet around the NFC logo) when it is corrected.
Perhaps they’re waiting for the first regular season game at Levi’s this Sunday to see if any changes are made from the preseason layout.
I know it’s a pretty trivial issue, but the fact that it was correct at launch contributes a lot to the frustration.

Better believed I played, and the game finally has tackling, and much better gang tackling. I dont make comments on notes, without checking it out for myself.

Yep they are the new permanent endzones and they actually were in at launch. Like I said, I mentioned it to those guys on twitter and was shocked how fast they responded to me after update 1.10 came out. That’s the only reason why I still ask. I to think they won’t fix it now and that’s pretty frustrating because it was so nice having the field look like the old days.

I was more excited than I had any right to be when I saw the old font and design when I booted up Madden. I've been a 'Niners fan since 1986, and seeing the field in-game was such a nostalgia trip. The endzones it reverted to are associated with losing teams, Harbaugh era excluded of course. I'm just confused why the coding for the endzones remained in the game after the old font and design were programmed into it. Makes me wonder if Madden was programmed for SF to revert back in year 2 after the 100th season was over, even though that is not the plan in real life.

I don't think this affects everyone. I was playing last night against thew Jets and I saw or Browns cant remember and Sheldon Richardson went down to one knee and was out for 2 quarters. Now that is the one and ONLY time I have seen a lineman go down. So I would say it happens they just need to tune the frequency. This is also on 32 team offline franchise and on PC with Sabo mods.

It’s 1987 for me and I echo exactly what you’re saying....that is our look and frankly it should have never been changed IRL in ‘05. Also it don’t think it was a year 2 revert thing either because I was in my 3rd franchise season and it was the Quentin until update 1.10. Somehow that update got an outdated levi’s In it. As you say the frustration really lies in it actually being in game at the start.
Please continue to not fix the kick meter glitch. It makes the game THAT MUCH MORE REALISTIC, FUN and CHALLENGING!!

Some people have it, some don't.
That is why it's harder to reproduce in house.

Been reading that. But I think it's a big enough base now, that something has to have been found by now. We all didn't corroborate on a "mystery glitch" to mess with devs. Haha. I'm in week 11. Had it happen 11 games. Only second half. Offline CFM. And I've tried backing out to the PS menu and reloading, but still no luck. Put me on the cover of Madden. I'm cursed. Haha.

I played the one game earlier and tackling did seem better. I was playing against the Browns who don’t have an enforcer so not a true test. But I wasn’t hit sticked by a defender that was 4 yards away.

The CPU timeouts are still an issue... but overall I'm loving this patch.
Must not have fixed it fully, then. Because in the two games where the CPU was put in that kind of position, they did fine against me using their timeouts that actually made sense

Two major issues that haven't been addressed:
    1. clock run-off still happening even if turned off
    2. AI intelligence is horrible with end of half and end of game management. If the AI can win a game in the final seconds with a field goal, it will instead go for it. Likewise, at the end of the half, it will let the clock run out rather than calling time out to attempt a field goal.

The clock run off is a feature. It simulate how much time it would take for players to lineup from the huddle. Or they removed that sim and stats will be all wrong.

Yeah I had a situation where in OT, our offense had a quick 3 and out. CPU marched down and got to 22 yard line. They lined up for Field goal. Instead of kicking game winning FG, they went for a Fake. They completed pass to a lineman for a First down but he immediately fumbled ball and we ended up marching down and winning.
I was excited to see the new quarterback throwing motions and intricacies like brees adjusting his shoulder pads abs licking his fingers or dak adjusting his helmet but idk if they never were implemented or these patches took them away. I hope they can put them back in. The game is definitely playing better though and more life like. Glad to see the fumbles reduced with sliders it's generally fun to play
In practice mode, the one game I played and a couple of games I watched on YouTube I didn't see one WWE hitstick tackle. It will be great if they don't cave and put them back in. It was so funny to see a ton of missed hits by User players. I saw a couple of plays that should have been 10 yard gains turn into touchdowns because the User player whiff on 4 hit sticks tackles. Some players may quit playing Madden because they literally don't know how to do regular tackles.
The disappearing kicking meter glitch is still there. I've had it go for field goals, punts and kick offs today.
On the end of game field goal (scores level) I tried supersimming the 4 and 5 with 3 seconds left field goal, and the AI called a rushing play!
Just watched a CPU game between Packers and Patriots. All pro 15 min quarters 12 second runoff.
Here are some things I've noticed.
Rodgers threw 68! passes. Brady threw 42. Both had 68% completion percentages.
Both teams ran about 20 times the whole game.
Tackles were toned down a ton.
Packers lost by a td. Forced a Patriots punt with 1:40 left in the game. No timeouts left. Rodgers threw a 40 yard pass to Adams. Then proceded to dink and dunk doen the field often throwing in the middle of the field. 3rd and 2 with about 20 seconds left at about the 20 yard line. Packers ran the ball and time expired.
CPU passing seems less robotic. They still make way too many checkdowns. Both teams had their runnimg back make about 10 catches for less than 25 yards.
The late game stuff needs to get sorted. It completely negates all the enjoyment of the game that was just played because you shank a kick or the CPU just fizzles out because it would rather run the clock out than try to win. Makes victories feel hallow and makes losses feel unnecesarily frustrating when you lose because of a major bug.
Also I'm really puzzled how they didn't have it worked out before hand an ability to add new features to existing franchises. Having to restart every patch to get new abilities and features should have been worked out before launch.

From what I reading this item:
Fixed an issue sometimes preventing AI-controlled teams from properly using their timeouts at the end of a half
has not actually been fixed. Of maybe they are using their timeouts but still not calling the right plays to win the game, like kicking a FG. This kind of thing really kills me.
QB sacks bug is back. two games and both games QB step back, step back step back until it was sacked. This was fixed on patch 11 i believe and it's back now.
another issue is CPU RB are not able to run at all anymore. I hold them for less than50 yds every game.
I think i will just play 2017 and stop worrying about it, at current state every area now is worst than 2017 i'm just going to miss the roster update.

I have never seen this issue
Played Jaguars(CPU) x Redskings(Me) w/ 4 min quarters on All Pro Mode with all default sliders and i finished winning by 24 x 0. Minshew throw to only poor 30 yards and the Jaguars ran only 25 yards. Keenum throw to 143 yards and Peterson ran 89 yards. This last patch ruined the passing and running game from CPU.
Has anyone had an issue where RPOs in custom playbooks are auto-throwing the bubble screen on RPOs where you have an option to run inside zone or throw the bubble? This never happened until I updated my game.

Will the return man ability be updated in existing CFMs, or will we have to restart to see it?

Has anyone had an issue where RPOs in custom playbooks are auto-throwing the bubble screen on RPOs where you have an option to run inside zone or throw the bubble? This never happened until I updated my game.

So after testing, this issue doesn’t happen quick game offline. But it happens in my existing online league and my existing offline league.
Holy crap. What did this last patch do? Lol. I say that rhetorically. I’ve seen the patch notes for the last few patches. But, wow. I haven’t played much in awhile as red dead online is awesome. Lol.
But, I picked up madden again and decided to play a game or 2. I’ve got my own slider set going on, and I already made passing a little more difficult for myself, but not ridiculously hard and I was still winning games. I just played the 2nd game of a new franchise with my dirty birds vs Phi. The real game was a crazy affair, for sure. But, man, oh man, I can NOT pass the ball anymore! And, truly, to an infuriating level. Julio is never open. NOBODY is ever open. Again, I’ve got some slider action going on, so maybe the last few patches augmented my sliders to a more ‘powerful’ level. And, while I accept a more challenging game, man, this was tough going. Lol. I lost 34-18. The yardage was even enough. But, I threw 3 INT and 2 of them were corner routes where the DB jumped in the air, caught it and just barely got 2 feet in bounds. Those 2 were both on Julio, too! Lol.
Anyways, I haven’t read through the entire thread, but I didn’t notice anyone claiming the game got ‘harder,’. But, man, I just couldn’t believe the coverage. I hate this year’s atl playbook, too. So, that’s an added problem. But, seriously, routes over the middle. While these shouldn’t always be ‘open,’ they should be open at some time if u have enough time. The cpu AI zone over the middle D seems to be improved, imo. I’m just not seeing the window to throw into.
Anyways, I’m going to play another game or 2. Maybe, the eagles are just that good. Maybe, if I play a lesser D, I’ll see something different. Or, maybe the patches screwed my sliders! And, made the game too hard, now. Lol.
Maybe, I’ll accept this challenge. But, I mean, if I can’t throw to Julio at all, lol, I’ve got to change something. Lol

Hopefully, it does get fixed soon.
Some people have it, some don't.
That is why it's harder to reproduce in house.
I've only ever had it happen late in the game when kicking a FG to either tie or take the lead/win the game and usually after opposing teams time out... but thats normal in game scenario i think.

Can anyone confirm this is working correctly?

I played an exhibition game yesterday and the CPU used their timeouts at the end of half. Used 1 with 8 seconds left and kick a fg. So it does seem better.
CPU seems to be using their timeouts better, but the play calling is still an issue.
They'll run the ball with the clock running down instead of passing, etc.

My belief is that this is being caused by two factors; Some playbooks do not appear to have fully installed gameplans. This can be easily checked by going through the playbooks for yourself. Also, the CPU appears to be handling what should be a 2 minute situation, ie scoring urgency, as if it were a 4 minute grind out the clock situation. When playing the BETA, I was surprised to find that when I had the ball under two minutes, my installed 2 minute gameplan actually came up as it should. Upon receiving game at launch, this was no longer the case, as the 4 minute situation appeared instead.
As an offline franchise guy, I understand why EA focuses it's attention on online modes. It's more profitable and I get that. However, it's a bit of slap in the face to have this issue not resolved for those of us who mostly play vs CPU.
I can accept and deal with all the rest of franchise mode's short-comings. However, while I am reluctant to use the term "gamebreaking", this qualifies as such for me. Making it more frustrating is the fact that, with my slider set, the game is otherwise playing really well for me. Therefore, as in real life, my games are often coming down to the wire. That should be a good thing, yet it isn't.

    True. That makes sense
How do I check mine and the CPUs gameplan?
Is that something I put in place myself if i want it to appear for myself in franchise?

Checking gameplans can be easily done by going into each team's, including your own, playbook. From there, simply select "gameplan" and scroll until you see 2 minute situation.
I've included a link to post as to how to build custom playbooks and gameplans for users if you're interested. However, when in 2 minute situations, you will often have to back out of suggestion-run-pass playcall boxes and call plays by formation.
Building gameplans for the CPU and using the 2nd controller workaround won't remedy this issue, since the CPU will still not select these plays in 2 minute situations, as it appears they are handling it as 4 minute offense. That situation unfortunately is not able to be altered or copied.

Well after watching Pete Carroll's abysmal clock management at the end of the first half yesterday maybe we are too hard on Madden. It was just as bad as some of the examples in here of broken ai. Can we patch him maybe?

He should've been patched a few years ago after that Superbowl.

Lol yeah that was terrible. Only for them to catch that deep ball and put them in great field position

just had the Patriots march the ball down to the 19 yard line against me on the opening drive, got them into 4th ad 2, and the cpu literally lines up in punt formation and actually punts the ball lmfao
Commentary "What the heck... they're lining up to punt the ball in the red zone?"
Wtf EA!? Yeah, its in the game alright!

Wow, I gotta tell ya, this one takes the cake and eats it too. It's as if the CPU thought it was on it's own 13 yard line..... Hopefully you get a chance to post this in the bugs and glitches thread and it's addressed.

Still no fix for FG meter or time clock runoff-
(Currently shutoff and still getting runoff)

It's been mentioned about a hundred times on OS, but the clock runoff you're talking about is not a bug. It simulates the time it takes to huddle & get to the line. Since the game skips the huddle, it auto-runs off some time to account for it.

Are we expecting the mid-Sept stuff this week since it got pushed back due to the hurricane?

Probably, harder to tell since the developers backed out of Twitter

Probably the best thing they could of done with all the children on Twitter. Shame though for the civil adults wanting a better product & being part of the solution & not the problem.

Hopefully it was just a fluke... but I've also been seeing some weak attempts with cpu fg, missing 25 30 yarders with no elevation. I'll post them when I get the chance

It wasn't just Madden developers that exited stage left off Twitter, but 2k did too.
And same rhetoric at OS several years ago about being thick skinned.
I really don't care what they do.
