Madden NFL 19 Hall of Fame Edition Features Terrell Owens on the Cover, Release Date August 7

EA Sports today announced that Terrell Owens will be on the cover of the Hall of Fame edition of Madden NFL 19. You can see the cover art above, the text within the graphic reads:

Madden NFL 19: Hall of Fame Edition not only delivers advances to gameplay, but an excellent foundation for building an epic MUT roster. Pre-order the Deluxe Edition to earn one of five upgradable Elite Legends. Select either Terrell Owens, Brian Urlacher, Rod Woodson, Dan Marino, or Terrell Davis and add them to your lineup to start ruling opponents. Start with these players and continue to build your team with the included packs. The Hall of Fame Edition has everything you need to leave the competition behind starting on day one.

    Surprised they chose him instead of Randy Moss, but maybe they're still angry at Randy for being on the cover of NFL 2k2 back in '01.*

    Just thought about this. Maybe EA is trolling the entire community with this cover choice. For years, people have been saying things like "2k5 had it, you don't" or "2k5 still the GOAT". By putting Owens on the cover, they're basically saying we're coming to prove you all wrong.

    When will they announce who is on the standard edition? EA shouldve said something by now.

    Yeah really weird. Only thing I can think of is it is a rookie who hasn't signed on to the NFLPA yet.

    If thats the case, could possibly be Barkley. He was featured in the trailer.
    I'm willing to bet they haven't announced the cover athlete of the standard edition because they are really trying to push people to buy the HOF edition. They wanna keep all the talk and focus on the T.O. cover.
