Madden NFL 18
Which Madden NFL 18 GOAT Edition Player Should You Get?
Not sure which Madden NFL 18 GOAT edition player to get? Scott Cole aka Coltrane walks you through it.
- Tom Brady – only if you’re a pure pocket passer. Devin Wade from longshot has better mobility and throw on the run.
- Barry Sanders – Great speed and elusiveness, but with Gamestop’s Bo Jackson or so many elite RBs you’ll be fine without him.
- Jerry Rice – The real GOAT. He’s a great WR but not top end speed and there’s so many to choose from this year including Gamestop’s Randy Moss and Doritos Calvin Johnson. Colt Cruise from Longshot is a great option too.
- Ray Lewis – My Pick because he’s already at Top 10 MLB in the game on launch and he has the speed to be versatile against the passing game and running game.
- Deion Sanders – If you have a second pick with the GOAT Edition plus the GOAT edition upgrade pack, go with Prime Time. Most schemes you’ll need 3 or 4 CBs anyway. He also provides you with a valuable Kick Returner.

Bought another GOAT pack in the store. Only thing, not sure if you will be able to upgrade both down the line or just one of them.

Like with Brady, if you combine him with two other Patriot players in the starting line up, you get a small boost. But with Alex Smith, I get the Chiefs boost, and a Move the Chains boost that bumps stuff like Catch in Traffic. They are small boosts, but increase with more players. Three is tier one. Six is tier two, and so on. They also stack. So right now I'm trying to maximize the boosts, which can boost player and team OVR, but not at a cap hit. Last year there was a cap hit for every Chem activated.

I went with Prime Time for the same reasons. It was between him and Barry Sanders, but I went with Deion because I thought he could have more effect on the game than Barry.

He's a great choice, does well against the pass and is returning kicks like a beast. You can get Dan Marino through Longshot and a Chad Johnson as well. Was a no brainer for my MUT.
As a Titans fan who watched Ray Lewis break Steve McNair's ribs and bully Tennessee into early playoff exits, I will have to go with Prime Time as my pick, once I get enough Baby Goats to trade in for a Goat. Ray won't ever play for my team, regardless of his ratings.
I traded in some used games at Gamestop and got "points" so I purchased RB Barry Sanders; I just really liked him as a player. I will upgrade him to his full 87 rating.
I considered LB Ray Lewis, but I can user a MLB in my 3-4 and I know better zone cover LB's will be out there, like the Eagles Jordan Hicks; then I can always user a Ryan Shazier.
So Deion Sanders was the key choice so I don't have to worry about one side of the field, essentially; and with the ability to change up zones, manually, I can lean all my coverages to one side of the field.
