  1. Yeah, sucks. Signal Iduna is one of the great cathedrals of the game these days. Ugh.
EA needs to stop losing stadiums, update generics, implement create-a-stadium (and creation center more broadly). Not enough is being done outside of gameplay to push the overall package of the game forward. I get it, people love FUT, but they really need to build up some of the infrastructure for other users.

Yeah.. Majority of their effort goes into FUT/MUT/HUT/Etc these days. Hence why I haven't bought NHL/Madden in like 3 years. I want to like PES more, but FIFA has the majority of licensing. Hard for me to play with fake players and fake teams in fake leagues.
I can't play PES because of the controls are so different from FIFA and I always get yellow cards because I press the wrong button. The licensing is also an isssue but FIFA is coming this year with the new signing images and negotiation cut scenes and Billboards. I'm hyped for that

That's my thing too when it comes right down to it. I'm an MLS fan, and FIFA not only includes all the teams but have given the league even more attention this year. That PL license is wonderful too, I can't lie.
That being said, I've already decided to get both games this year. I can use PES to go through a Ligue 1, Eredivisie, or South American career and FIFA for the MLS and/or PL, La Liga, and Bundesliga.
For the person who said the controls are too different, PES has the option to change the controls to a FIFA-style setup. I'm pretty sure they're almost identical, but I could be wrong.

I know we are talking about stadiums in this thread, but has anyone seen or heard of a trace of dynamic weather with this title. I say this here because with losing ISP this is starting to make doubt the hype for this game.

Haven't heard anything. I'd doubt it, personally.

What? Don't you know you can reconfigure PES control and make it juat like Fifa?

Yeah, I did this last year and in the beta and it was fine. Plus with the option files it's pretty good. Wish they had a stadium creator and the option to add additional leagues though.

As far as PES controls are concerned, switch to Preset 2. It's the same as FIFA, has been for years.

Its not exactly the same because in PES the running button is R1 and in Fifa is R2, but if you chose a custom configuration you can easily change that to be exactly like Fifa.
The other difference is in the defense system that in PES is the equivalent of legacy defense in Fifa.
In 2013 PES had all of the La LIga stadiums, the next year FIFA bought an exclusive license for Camp Nou force PES to lose all of their Spanish stadiums. They never added a single Spanish stadium themselves, just did it to block PES. In 2016 EA was awarded an exclusive license for La Liga, again to spite PES. But they failed to secure the stadiums or again add a single one. PES retaliated by gaining an exclusive license for Camp Nou  and now have blocked FIFA form the Mestalla. EA remains the worst video game company there is. Their business practices are dirty and hurt consumers. I will not be supporting them.
It's crazy that PES, if they do get the Mestalla, will have more licensed stadiums in La Liga than FIFA, and La Liga's not even licensed in PES.  You're right HenryClay, the only reason EA keeps getting all these exclusive licenses is so PES can't have them. The only one EA really cares about is the Premier League. Now in return, Konami is starting to do the same things to EA, but in the end, the consumers are the losers. There's no reason whatsoever other than greed that both companies can't share these licenses.

I dream of a world where every major league is completely licensed by both companies and they just compete on gameplay and graphics.

To dream is fine, realism is better. Of course, it's about money, but I'm just missing an important factor, greedy clubs and leagues, they're just as important a part of it.

Loved this. Nice set of videos that show how the Frostbite Engine has been brought to bear this year. Nice to see some MLS love.

Videos look great. Only thing that sticks out to me on the negative side is that it really makes me realize I'm tired of the same 2 commentators, every year. It's just gotten really stale. It's also really strange hearing them call matches in certain leagues. I understand WHY they only use 2, but it just doesn't fit.
People complained for years about EA not giving offline players enough (because of the focus on FUT), and their main response was the Alex Hunter story mode. Now it's like 95% of their offline focus is on that, while most offline players just want more stadiums, licenses, career mode stuff. Seems crazy to only had 4 stadiums with all that EA money.

Add 4, lose 2. Did we really gain much?

We also lost Creation Centre and the Match of the Week games, both of which added a lot to the offline experience.
I don't understand why EA insists to hang on to Donbass Arena when the stadium has been closed since 2014 after being destroyed by bombs during a conflict and there is no time table for reopening as far as I've searched. Removing that stadium could bring another European stadium!

Removing a stadium doesn't mean it magically opens up a spot for a new stadium. It's all about licensing and the rights. Not a space issue at this point. Not to mention that Shakthar want to use Donbass again. It wasn't destroyed, it was damaged. But it's repairable. The problem is that it's in a contested area of Ukraine.

I loved Match of the week and playing those scenarios:

They just announced an official partnership with the EFL! That's pretty awesome.

That is awesome. As a Forest supporter, this will add more life/authenticity to career mode.
I wonder if it's just the Championship or if League 1 and 2 are there as well.

There's no indication or announcement that this will change anything about how the teams are represented in the game. This doesn't mean the stadiums will be in or anything. I think it just means there will be EA branding in stadiums in real life.

Okay, I knew the stadiums wouldn't be in, but was hoping we might get EFL branded HUD/scoreboards, or at least the proper EFL badge (or is that whole SkyBet/no betting thing still an issue?).

We might get the HUD stuff. The betting stuff, and alcohol, and who knows what else is a regional restriction. On PC, modders could modify that in a part of the db with a list of countries with next to a fields "allow betting ads" "allow alcohol ads" etc...
