F1 2020 Features, Screenshots and Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition Revealed

Codemasters has revealed some of the features for F1 2020, which include a new mode called My Team, 2-player split-screen, customizable settings, shorter career options and much more. They also released some screenshots and details on the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition.

My Team – Be the 11th Team on the Grid

My Team is a major new mode for F1 2020, and a first for the F1 franchise.  Alongside the well-established career mode of the F1 games, you’ll be able to experience F1 2020 as a driver-manager, and it’s going to offer you a unique insight into the world of F1!

That’s not all though. Whether you’re playing ‘My Team’, or our traditional Career mode, we’re giving you more flexibility with your season lengths, and you’ll be able to choose between the original and full 22 race season (including Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort), or shorter 10 or 16 options.

Two-player Split-Screen

For social play with friends, two-player split-screen makes its welcome return, so you’ll be able to show off those skills against your sibling or fight for first place with your friends.

Customizable Settings

We’re also adding a host of different options designed to help those of you new to F1 games and adjust the challenge to match your expertise. These modes are in addition to the core F1 and F2 racing experiences which remain as challenging as ever for those who love the intensity of simulation racing.

  1. I really enjoy this series. The addition of "My Team" is amazing. I've always wanted to create my own team in the game. Hopefully they have some pretty elaborate options, I'd love to see:
    - Hiring the other driver on your team
    - Hiring team principals
    - Ability to choose engine supplier (maybe even create your own engine with team base upgrades, see below)
    - Create liveries
    - Sponsorships
    - Manage budgets (choose where to apply funds; next year's car, driver fees, etc.)
    - Create / manage your team base (choosing location is simple, but being able to upgrade and build new buildings; wind tunnel, engine production, etc.)
I'm sure others have great ideas. Needless to say, this announcement has me excited for the new F1 2020 game.
Awesome! I love the My Team feature. I just hope that it's the same as career mode, just running your own team. All I've ever wanted from this series is the ability to create my own team and run a 10 year career competing against the real F1 drivers and teams.
Having the ability to build/manage the team is really cool too especially if it contains advanced features as the poster mentions above, however I'd be totally happy even if it was just adding an 11th team into the existing career mode.
My other bucket list item for this game would be classic tracks. Bring back Nurburgring, and of course many others. we have classic cars, now bring some classic tracks too for use in any game mode.
Only downside here... Release date is SO FAR AWAY
I read the following on Codemasters.

So seems like the fact you can build facilities and develop the team over time that it’s at least more than one season.

Can't wait! Like Brandon, I'm excited about My Team, it sounds amazing, like the good ol' day of NASCAR Thunder where you could do the same type of thing.

Two things make me wonder, or be concerned about it still though...
    1. I want it to be just like career mode, but with my own team & the necessary upgrades R&D, etc. etc. I feel like it's not going to be that based on the description. That could be a good thing, could be a bad thing. I just hope it doesn't become so involved that you lose the point of racing, for management. I'm a bit nervous on who the second driver will be on your team too, but that's minor I guess.
    2. I hope they stop capping the low end teams to a "maximum ceiling" like they do now in career. I'm in year 8. Every team is maxed out right now (the coming reg changes will likely change that agian) but as it sits now, there is no possible way for Williams to ever rise above 10th ranked team. McLaren 4th, Renault 5th, etc, etc. It's pointless. If I want to take over Williams and stay there for 10 years, I want to be able to become THE BEST in F1. Not 10th best no matter what I do, how many races I win, how many championships I win, etc. etc. That frustrates me to no end.
