eSports Boxing Club Trailer Revealed - Boxing Simulation, Featuring Full Career Mode, Coming Soon to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & PC

In development since 2019, developer Steel City Interactive, has revealed their launch trailer for eSports Boxing Club. This one came out of nowhere and there isn’t much in terms of actual gameplay shown in the trailer. However, they are promising a boxing simulation, featuring a full career mode, where your fighter challenges for the Lord Lonsdale Belt, to become World Champion.

The game features a roster of boxers across the globe from multiple weight divisions, including Ricky Hatton and Frank Bruno.

A full fight commentary team includes Paul Dempsey and Johnny Nelson, along with Craig Stephen as ring announcer. The trailer also notes cutmen Jamie Heldon and Ian Jumbo Johnson, as well as trainers Dave Coldwell and Ben Davison are also involved.

Other than “coming soon” at the end of the trailer, there aren’t many other details about the game, which is expected to arrive on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

  1. Frank Bruno?!?!? Yes please.
Ricky Hatton too!! Nice. That’s not a bad start. Nigel Benn and Eubank would be nice... have a really British flavour to roster of fighters I have no issue with that. If I can be Bruno in the career mode that will be enough to sell it to me.
So this is some welcoming news...
I grew up in a era that had IMO one of the best middleweight divisions in history.
    Duran-Hagler-Hearns-Leonard ect...
But...what I’m hoping or should I say praying for, is the flexibility and the vision of this company to allow us, the consumer OPTIONS!
Allow us to “Create” fighters-allow us also the ability to put those created fighters in a career or division and the ability to pit those fighters against each other or ourselves.
Hoping this game can reach and give “everyone “ options to enjoy it no matter how you play..offline ..online ect

Options and customization is the key to the life and longevity of a game like this. I agree 100%.
Hopefully the game has a fleshed out creation suite, and is friendly to modders on PC

From the same time here- used to watch on "Closed circuit" tv at the Meadowlands with my Dad. Would love a full roster of current and former boxers AND also the ability to create your own and enter into an online league where you can fight for titles.

Ditto that...I loved the game/ fight engine for UFC.. And yes you could create fighters but they could never be used in career more than one at a time...
Looking forward to this..keeping fingers crossed:y220:
I just hope we get a legit career mode.
I'm tired of the same ole retread such as Start at 50 OV, train, fight, distribute points, repeat.
Give me a stable of fighters all with unique skills and varying static ratings.
100% gameplay - if playing a match is fun and makes sense that's all that matters for a first outing. All the deep career stuff and whatever ONLY matters if the game is good, so it starts and ends there. Looking forward to seeing some actual boxing. I hope they bring something new to the table and didn't try to copy FN because I've been playing that recently just to look at what I don't like for my own dreams creation what to avoid.
I am huge boxing fan and it is exciting that there is potentially a decent game on the way. As other have mentioned, the key will be customization.
I spent a great deal of time on Fight Night Champions creating boxers. As a matter of fact I filled two profiles with the maximum number of CABs. FNC was a decent game after some ratings and slider changes. Much like Madden really, you have to force the game to be good. LOL
This is certainly something to keep an eye on.

Yeah, I can't get excited about anything FightNight-ish.
    Hello Fightfans

One thing I know, we boxing fans are very passionate about the sport and could talk for hours on the subject :).
Thank you for the comments and suggestions. I can assure you we are listening and we will do everything we can to deliver a game that does justice to the sport we all love.

Great Gameplay and Great Creation Options will make this the boxing game fans have all been waiting for (and easy to make mods for pc)

    No release date right....
I’m wondering if the release will coincide with PS5 release...
I just hope we as consumers get “options “.
Create fighters, ability to use those created fighters against each other within all or any modes made available...
All we can do is wait..and hope
Best boxing game ever is Muhammed Ali boxing that was on 3DO. I haven't liked a boxing game since that... So this would be epic. I wish 2K sports just had licenses for all sports titles. What they do for basketball towers above other sports games.
    Armor and Sword
Well this is interesting. We can only hope for a great boxing simulation for the PS4

Esports after coming out with a new engine last year that crushes things like what EA does with FIFA I'd say is a superior programming company to the pure **** that exists at EA. If you look at Esports soccer 20 vs FIFA 20, Esports looks like television and utterly destroys FIFA 20 as a game, the ball can do things no with their engine that hasn't been capable prior.
The difference is as astounding as if you played NBA live 2018 and then Decided to play NBA 2K20 right after. Hands down 2k wins that battle every time... I think if they can do boxing as well as they did soccer, ESPORTS will be far superior in game quality to anything EA barfs out and tells us to eat.
EA and their pay to win set up on their Ultimate Team games threw their programming in the dumpster... Yet because of exclusive contracts with the NFL etc they have climbed to a near unreachable status. I truly hope 2021 provides us with customizeable sports games at the level of 2K for everything. Esports I have second to 2K in game quality... EA is about as **** as it comes... It's like working for Gibson guitars, no matter what you do for the company, your days are numbered and half of the office would rather strangle their manager than work.

I just realized this game is made by “esports” ..I thought it was ea.
I don’t know anything about esports...

A recent YouTube video with Ryan Rhodes says the game will release first on PC November 2020.

It seems like a shaky prediction given that Rhodes acknowledged CV19 has slowed things down. He said that if it "PC launches" November-December it will have been worked on for two years but that's giving 6-7 months of advance credit considering the virus' effect.
Rhodes is obviously no programming expert but I seem to remember that he remarked more than once that the developer team told him it's easier to shoot the game out on a PC than other platforms. He also stated that other platforms would very quickly follow but gave no specific timeline.
As Ali said on the eve of the Ellis fight, "The future is a mist".

PC is easier to develop for.

Sounds a lot like an early access situation. Releases on PC while the kinks get ironed out before porting to console. Probably will be patched multiple times before making it to consoles.
I plan on getting the game on PC so thats exciting if the release is actually in November for PC

A new trailer released today. No actual gameplay. Shows off in game graphics, reports 50 licensed fighters and professionals, licensing from WBC and Ring Magazine.

Whoa that looks pretty insane. Doubt it’ll look like that, but even if it’s close to that, it would be a pretty big graphical leap from fnc and even their first trailer.

I don't want to sound like a dick here, considering this is the only boxing game we have on the horizon, I have to be optimistic but the lack of gameplay is troubling to me. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the graphical showcase and the graphics look good but I can't get excited for a ring and a mans face. How do I even know from that teaser that the game will be able to hold that image quality with a crowd, ref, two detailed boxers and animations on-screen?
Show me some footwork and a jab animation at least guys. I don't feel that should be difficult to piece together if you're working on a boxing game for as long as this team has. I hope the next teaser is actual gameplay. I don't care how long it takes to release the teaser, we need boxers and gameplay to build hype that isn't just "we're finally getting a boxing game". I'd rather have no boxing game than another prizefighter effort.

No indie company is going to show any gameplay early because fans are holding them to EA standards and will tear them apart. Intelligent patient fans understand alpha and betas ; but impatient fans are delusional and think making a game is an easy quick process. Social media can kill a game quickly.

I can't get too excited over a good scan of Johnny Nelson. I'll give them a pass for this scant video if this was the first time they announced an allegiance with the WBC and Ring Magazine. The game seems like a long ways off.

I get you but I don't feel a couple of youtube idiots justifies not piecing together a gameplay clip with some footwork and a jab. Unless they haven't worked on any gameplay, there is no excuse. The number one gameplay element anyone working on a boxing game needs to start with is footwork.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not buying this game for graphics. Like I said I'm optimistic and patiently waiting for something to get me excited for this game.
Well the good thing is, nobody has to actually pay for the game now. Hopefully we'll get some actual gameplay soon. This most recent trailer was mostly to show off graphics and announce partnerships.
I'll continue be optimistic about this game because it costs nothing. Other potential boxing games haven't announced much, and with EA doubling down on UFC, this is looking like the best option so far.

Yes, EA made it perfectly clear they weren't making a boxing videogame after turning down Eddie Hearn who was practically begging them to make a boxing videogame.

Its shame, because with they DLC and Virtual Currency, Ultimate Team etc, has progressed since Fight Night Champion, EA could actually profit of a Boxing Game via those things.

So then why did Eddie allow them to sign AJ for their UFC game?
Eddie had to have a say in that even though AJ ultimately makes the call...

Don't know if it's true. I know Eddie Hearn had a discussion and they responded to him
