The QB Style you choose in College Football 25 can have a major impact on how your quarterback performs when throwing the ball. Your QB Style changes the throwing motion of your quarterback, and there are certainly better options than others. Of course, it mostly comes down to personal preference and what you want to see when your quarterback winds up to pass.
However, if you’re looking at all of the available options and don’t even know where to start with selecting one, then you’re in the right place. I’ll list all of the QB Styles you can pick from and the few that are considered the best ones to select based on a couple of different factors in College Football 25.
All QB Styles In College Football 25

In total, there are 14 QB Styles you can select in College Football 25, but they all come from three distinct categories of throwing motions. So, your first decision when picking a QB Style is deciding what throwing motion you like best and then choosing from your list of options within that specific category.
Below, you can see all 14 QB Styles in College Football 25:
- Over the Top 1
- Over the Top 2
- Over the Top 3
- Over the Top 4
- Over the Top 5
- Over the Top 6
- Over the Top 7
- Three Quarters 1
- Three Quarters 2
- Three Quarters 3
- Three Quarters 4
- Three Quarters 5
- Lower Three Quarters 1
- Lower Three Quarters 2
As you can see, the three categories of QB Styles are: Over the Top, Three Quarters, and Lower Three Quarters. Over the Top is the most traditional of the QB Styles, as it’s a clean and classic throwing motion that sees the quarterback wind up and throw the ball in a half circle over their shoulder. The options within the Over the Top QB Style category change up the speed at which the quarterback throws and subtle alterations in the motion itself.
As for Three Quarters and Lower Three Quarters, these QB Styles make your quarterback throw more from the side than directly over their shoulder. Once again, the different options within the categories change up speed and the angle at which the quarterback throws the ball.
Best QB Styles In College Football 25

Naturally, the “best” QB Style does come down to what you like for your quarterback, but if you’re just looking to pick one QB Style and leave the setting alone, check out my recommendations below. I’m going to include one option from each of the three QB Style categories:
Three Quarters 2
Our first QB Style option is Three Quarters 2, which is close to the style that Heisman runner-up and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel uses. Three Quarters 2 uses a fast throwing motion that gets the ball out quickly, making it ideal for short to medium standard and bullet passes in College Football 25. The QB Style is also great for on-the-run passes, which is great for a more mobile quarterback.
Over The Top 3
From the Over the Top category of QB Styles, we have Over the Top 3. This QB Style has one of the fastest releases out of any of the available options, which makes it a fantastic option for just about any quarterback you can play as in College Football 25. A close second option would be Over the Top 4, which has a smooth throwing motion and a fast release, but not quite as quick as Over the Top 3.
Lower Three Quarters 1
Finally, we have Lower Three Quarters 1. All of the Lower Three Quarters QB Styles have a low release point when throwing the ball, but Lower Three Quarters 1 doesn’t exaggerate that release point as much as the others. While you might like the lower release point, it can be slightly jarring to see in-game and can also lead to more deflections from defenders at the line of scrimmage.
