If you choose to do a playthrough of Dynasty mode in College Football 25, you’ll have to run the entire team instead of focusing on just your player, as you would in Road to Glory. This means you have to make decisions both on and off the field, which comes down to managing your coach. While your coach starts as a lowly name in the college football world, you’ll eventually get to make a name for them after you get a few seasons under your belt.
However, you’ll find it difficult to do that when your coach doesn’t have the same abilities as other coaches. Fortunately, College Football 25 gives you a heap of upgrades that you can select as you progress throughout the various seasons in Dynasty mode. You might be a little confused about the abilities or unsure of which ones to pick, though, so allow us to help you out on that front.
Best Upgrades For Your Coach In College Football 25

First and foremost, ability upgrades in College Football 25 are classified under one of the several archetypes that are available for your coach. You choose this archetype as soon as you begin a playthrough of Dynasty mode, and your archetype comes with different strengths and weaknesses.
Every upgrade available in Dynasty also has an archetype associated with it, but you’re not limited based on the archetype you chose. You can pick between any archetype’s upgrades, but it might be prudent to select upgrades that share your archetype, since those will help out with the coaching style you’re most interested in.
You can unlock new upgrades as you earn XP, which comes with winning games, completing seasons, getting recruits, completing goals, etc. As you progress in Dynasty, new upgrades will become available to unlock, but you’ll have a solid amount to choose from at the start of your playthrough.
As we previously mentioned, you can select any upgrade to unlock, regardless of its specific archetype as it relates to the archetype you chose for your coach. However, it’s most ideal to stick to a few concrete ideals when it comes to your coaching/playing style. This allows you to hone in on those styles when selecting your upgrades instead of spreading out your boosts and bonuses across a variety of areas.
With all of that out of the way, let’s get into the best overall coaching upgrade abilities for Dynasty mode in College Football 25. We’ll list our favorites in the table below:

Those are the 15 best coaching upgrade abilities we think you should target in College Football 25. Now, some of them won’t be able to be unlocked until you work through the tiers in some of the archetypes, as you need to put in points to unlock other upgrades. So, in those cases, you’ll also be unlocking other upgrades that pair well with the more expensive upgrades.
For example, you can’t unlock “Put In Work” until you first unlock Pay It Forward, Hot Hand, and Locked In in the Motivator category. This costs points, but it’s worth it, as the Put In Work upgrade is one of the best you can unlock.
