Assetto Corsa Competizione
Assetto Corsa Competizione Gameplay Video - 3 Minutes of PlayStation 5 Footage
Check out the latest Assetto Corsa Competizione gameplay video featuring 3 minutes of PlayStation 5 footage. The video showcases the Audi R8 GT3 at Zolder, through a track in the Netherlands, before heading to a wet Spa Francorchamps, at night in a 2018 Bentley Continental GT3.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is was originally scheduled to release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 24, 2022, but the end of the video confirms a February 22 release date. Owners of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version will get a free upgrade for the latest consoles.
The game will run at 60 frames per seconds in 4K with free private multiplayer lobbies and updated liveries. It will also feature progressive full day cycles in races, randomly generated weather and more.

It'll look even better, IMO. The video we're looking at was using 1080p resolution, albeit at 60 FPS. I'm impressed with what I could see of the benefits of the 60 FPS frame rate, but even at 1080p, I could pick up the more organic look of the graphics. The trees looked significantly more organic. The dashboard, instrument panel, and steering wheel have dropped the almost "dithered" graphics style that I find to be lacking in the current version.
This is a tremendous gesture of good will and customer support BY KUNOS Simulazioni to offer this as a free upgrade to current owners. I'd imagine it's going to result in the sale of more games once PS5 and XBox Series X owners feast their eyes on this at 60 FPS! I'm as excited for this as I would be if it was being billed as a new game!!
For being a sim, Is it playable with a controller? Obviously it won’t be as good as a wheel but is it still a solid experience? I’m really interested in this since GT7 has to be connected to the internet to play solo.

It works fine for me on controller. You do have to be gentle with your inputs though.
Thank you, I’m going to definitely get it.

The video Operation Sports posted last week of 3 minutes of game action on the PS5 looked really good, but it was capped at 1080p. I found a video of the PC version of ACC, running at 2160p/60 FPS and it takes on a new personality compared to what I currently see on my Series X. I think it's probably representative of what we're going to see on the Series X and PS5 in a little over two weeks. Here's a link to it if you'd like to check it out. It's definitely got me stoked!

I've got my cursor in position waiting for it to go live... only 5 minutes away from 0 hour as I type this.... can't wait!!
I know they say they made graphical improvements and I do see some, but it's not quite the leap I'd thought it would be. There are some adjustments I need to make to the game's video settings that I wasn't aware of before the update. I saw that I had one that was set for a camera filter of "legend" (I think it was anyway). It yielded a sort of movie film look that I didn't find that appealing for a racing game. I changed it to "Default" and liked that much better. I've got to experiment with contrast, gamma, sharpness, and a few others a bit before I'm done. The racing is just so good that it's hard to tear myself away from it long enough to do some tweaking.
There are more subtle things about the update that I'll have to experience before I can comment on them. There's enough here overall though that I feel very much like this is a brand new game... very impressed!
Assetto Corsa Competizione is available today for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Fans who already own the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can upgrade for free, otherwise it costs $39.99.

Also noticed that the rearview screen from an in-car perspective is still pixelated and not razor sharp. Would be nice if they could fix this. And curious when 1.8 will be released for Next-Gen.
Cheers!

Im on the same boat regarding settings, the previous version had nothing like it, so im a bit lost on what to change to achieve the most realistic feel, visuals wise.
Also now we have a lot more options on the camera, like FOV and others. Im a cockpit cam guy (not Helmet cam, it makes me dizzy), but i already set my camera closer to the wheel. I can still see the wheel (good for imersion) but i feel closer to the track.
I haven't experienced any crashes on my Series X going back and forth between Career and Single Race modes, but I haven't tried Championship yet.
Cheers!
I haven't paid a lot of attention to the rearview screen and can't really comment on the pixelation of which you're speaking. I'll take note of that today when I play it. I'm pretty happy with what I've got right now and I haven't read about the benefits of 1.8 on the PC version. I'll have to research that and see what it has to offer. I can say that 1.7.8.2 will tide me over until 1.8 arrives.

Amen to that, enjoyed it already and even more now with 20 cars on track!
It crashes when I exit the game, restart it and loading into a saved game. I will delete and reinstall later today and perhaps Quick Resume is not the way to go.
Happy driving!
The next time you try to start it, you will be notified that an update is available for the game. It will then prompt you to download (forgot the size). That's all that's required though, but in essence, you're getting what feels to me like a new game!

I'll be curious to hear what you experience after reinstalling. I haven't had a problem with crashing when I've loaded a saved game.... yet (fingers crossed).

Had another crash when loading into a game when reinstalled. I will not use the Quick Resume function anymore, I guess that's the culprit.
I am on series x and some said there is a legends camera option in the video settings I have not seen that. Now I have to say last night ran a race with 31 cars what a treat. The engine sounds in this game has my brain and nose trying to the spell of the exhaust. Even on replays you hear the cars belching popping as you would at actual race. As I am typing this I am ready for another run.

I don't see what they wouldn't work. That's in essence what I did, except I already had the game well before the X/S Enhanced version was released.
I'll try it and let you know... keep in mind that my opinion will be coming from someone who royally sucks at racing games using a controller. I can at least give you a relative assessment though...
Thanks. I did try the pc version with a controller when it first came out but found it very twitchy and difficult to control.
To put it in a nutshell, it feels a lot like Forza 7 feels with a controller. I could manage with it, but I just find it so hard to hold a line though sharp and are extended gradual turns. I was never able to handle manual shifting via the shoulder buttons, so I remapped that to the A and the X buttons. Even at that, I find it awkward shifting on a controller, but then again, I've never spent enough time trying to acclimate myself to it going back to the PS2.
If I spent some time tuning the settings on the controller steering inputs, I'm sure I could improve on what I had with my minor adjustment to the dead zone. There are enough tweaking options there to where I could find a sensitivity that would be more tolerant of my inability to hold stick tilts for turns. There's a lot to play with there.
In the end it made me appreciate my Thrustmaster TX and T3PA pedals even more. I somehow managed to buy the combo for $275 in 2016 from B&H, at a time when the best price I could find elsewhere was $450. The combo sells for $685 right now at Amazon.
