Madden NFL 21 Reveals Some X-Factor Abilities For Cornerbacks & Safeties

Madden NFL 21 continues to reveal more of their 50 all-new X-Factor abilities today, on the defensive side of the ball with the cornerbacks and safeties. Players include Derwin James, Harrison Smith, Tyrann Mathieu, Devin McCourty, Jaire Alexander, Richard Sherman, Stephon Gilmore, Jalen Ramsey, Jamal Adams, and Tre’Davious White.

Madden NFL X-Factors are the powerful in-game abilities mimicking real-life talent, behavior and characteristics that help take teams to new heights and raise their game when it matters most.

Todays X-Factors include the following:

  • Derwin James Jr., Harrison Smith, Tyrann Mathieu: Reinforcer – Dual-threat defender
    • Zone: Higher chance to defeat run blocks and disrupt catches.
    • Trigger: Two tackles for loss, or two incompletions
    • Knockout: 20 offensive yards allowed
  • Jaire Alexander, Richard Sherman, Stephon Gilmore & Tre-Davious White: Shutdown –Plasters receiver routes.
    • Zone: Tighter coverage and more interceptions on contested catches.
    • Trigger: Two forced incompletions
    • Knockout: 30 offensive yards allowed
  • Devin McCourty: Zone Hawk – Elite ball skills
    • Zone: More interceptions in zone coverage.
    • Trigger: Two forced incompletions
    • Knockout: 30 offensive yards allowed
  • Jalen Ramsey: Bottleneck – Early action wins man press coverage.
    • Zone: Dominantly win man press attempts.
    • Trigger: Two forced incompletions
    • Knockout: 30 offensive yards allowed
  • Jamal Adams: Avalanche – Elite Tacklers
    • Zone: Downhill hit-sticks force fumbles.
    • Trigger: Three hit-stick tackles
    • Knockout: 30 offensive yards allowed

Madden NFL 21 launches on August 28, or 3 days earlier by pre-ordering the MVP Edition. EA SPORTS also offers Dual Entitlement, creating ways for players who purchase either an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 to upgrade their copy of Madden NFL 21 from prior generation Xbox One or PlayStation 4 platforms, at no additional cost.

This offer will be in place all the way through the Madden NFL 21 season, up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade whenever they first purchase their new console within that period. Of note, physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles.

  1. Earl thomas losing his xfactor makes no sense.
    Also Peters has pick artist written all over him.
    He has the most int of any player since he came into the league and he was a pro bowler and all pro last season.
