If you didn’t catch WWE’s second biggest show of the year, SummerSlam, then you may have missed the newest WWE 2K22 trailer. Well, you didn’t miss much.
We saw some nice shots of ring entrances and some in-engine gameplay, but nothing that shows us what that gameplay actually looks like.
At the end of the trailer it was revealed that the game isn’t releasing until March 2022. 2K also let us know additional details, including a full announcement of features, modes, cover Superstar and more will arrive in January 2022.
The news is sure to be disappointing to many fans of the series, including myself. However, if they need the extra time to avoid the mess of WWE 2K20 and give us the game they have promised, then I’m fine with the delay. I would assume this will set up the series to release in the spring every year. This could be a good thing since they could use WrestleMania to promote it.
The tweet mentions new controls, stunning graphics and a redesigned engine.
