WWE 2K22 Releases in March 2022 - Teaser Trailer Revealed

If you didn’t catch WWE’s second biggest show of the year, SummerSlam, then you may have missed the newest WWE 2K22 trailer. Well, you didn’t miss much.

We saw some nice shots of ring entrances and some in-engine gameplay, but nothing that shows us what that gameplay actually looks like.

At the end of the trailer it was revealed that the game isn’t releasing until March 2022. 2K also let us know additional details, including a full announcement of features, modes, cover Superstar and more will arrive in January 2022.

The news is sure to be disappointing to many fans of the series, including myself. However, if they need the extra time to avoid the mess of WWE 2K20 and give us the game they have promised, then I’m fine with the delay. I would assume this will set up the series to release in the spring every year. This could be a good thing since they could use WrestleMania to promote it.

The tweet mentions new controls, stunning graphics and a redesigned engine.

With that said, what did you think about the newest trailer for WWE 2K22? How do you feel about the delay? Let us know what you think and check out some of the WWE 2K22 screenshot captures from the teaser trailer below.

  1. I wonder how bad of a state (or they couldn’t figure out) the Yukes code of the game was to make them not only take a year off, but push to March of 2022?
I hope they nail it. It’ll probably be the last wrestling game I buy so I want it to go out with a bang.
Rather wait 5ish months than it be like 2k20. The roster has has tremendous turnover and they prob need to get a lot of peeps scanned and taken out as well.
Interesting it’s release will be right around Wrestlemania.

It sucks that the wait is another six months, but I also bought 2k20 very late in the cycle (the physical Smackdown Edition was on sale for like $40) and did not hate it.
The trailer definitely looks great, and I am sure visually, it is going to live up to the hype.
That said, it is GM Mode or bust for me from here on out (and no, Universe Mode is not an equal to GM Mode.)

I'm also gonna guess part of the delay has been the roster bloodletting over the last few months. Past years, they could live with a couple of talent gone from when the roster was finalized, but now there's gotta be at least two dozen folks who were probably locked and loaded in the roster who are not only gone, but some of whom assuredly will be in AEW by then (including Daniel Bryan, Ruby Riott/Soho and according to reports today, Bray Wyatt when his no-compete is up)
Chances are the roster is outdated when Mania hits.
I might get excited if it gets a graphical overhaul, which it sorely needed, but if the gameplay base isn't improved upon that will be a hollow shell.
Honestly I didn't really dislike 2k20 but then again I only bought it when it was playable, which took a while. Can't believe that many people just blindly purchased despite all the red lights before release.

They already said that the gameplay and controls are being overhauled which is awesome. Definitely needed it.

How many superstars will WWE have left by March? The rate they are going they might have to use a lot of classic stars for that roster.

I'd personally love a next-gen game that embraces legends. Haven't had a good classic-heavy roster since... Legends of WrestleMania (PS3)?
    Me personally-
    I was excited

(I know im only 1 person)
    They lost my purchase
With MLB the Show and New EA golf game

Hahaha I was going to say I'd be more interested in the game if it was focused on legends and classic eras.

Give me a game that features just 80s and early 90s guys and I would buy it day one and pay whatever they wanted.

For me I'd go up to the early 2000s for those Attitude era stars, which could also include WCW stars from the "Monday Night Wars" years. Pretty much anyone and anything from 2000s and earlier would interest me more than the current generation of talent. Luckily these games have always been known for the about of customization so hopefully that continues and improves further with this game.
