Pokémon Champions: Best Items Tier List

The best items in the game!

Items are the backbone of every Pokémon team. While Pokémon are important for base stats, items define the strategy and win condition you’ll be using. Two teams with the same Pokémon could have different playstyles depending on the items they’re running. However, not all items are on the same level.

Some items are good in specific situations, while others can shine in almost all environments. Items that have niche uses are usually ranked lower than those that are versatile. So to help you through it, I’ll be ranking all the held items in Pokémon Champions based on their versatility and usage.

S-Tier Items You Should Always Have

First up, we have S-tier items. These items are good in almost every situation. They’re also used to turn the tide of the game and shouldn’t be wasted unless an opportunity presents itself. Let’s take a look at which items fall in this tier:

ItemEffect
Focus SashIf the holder has full HP and takes damage from a move that would knock it out in one hit, it will endure the hit with 1 HP. Disappears for the duration of the battle after a single use.
Choice ScarfBoosts the holder’s Speed stat by 50%. However, once the holder uses a move, it becomes unable to use any other move but the one until it switches out of battle.
LeftoversRestores 1/16th of the holder’s max HP at the end of every turn.
Quick ClawGives the holder’s moves a 20% chance of going first among moves of the same priority.

Each of these items is good in certain situations, but you’ll see these equipped on the majority of Pokémon teams. Being able to sustain fatal damage, increase your Speed, or heal over time are very valuable traits.

A-Tier Items That Are Good To Have

Next, we have A-tier items. These are generally considered very strong items with a solid impact on battles. However, they are outshone by S-tier items in most cases. Still, if you’re missing some of those items, these are great replacements to consider. Here are the A-tier items in Pokémon Champions:

ItemEffect
Sitrus BerryRestores 1/4th of the holder’s max HP when the holder’s HP drops to ½ or less of its max. Disappears for the duration of the battle after a single use.
King’s RockWhen the holder deals damage with its moves, there is a 10% chance that targets will flinch.
White HerbRestores the holder’s stats to their usual value when they are lowered. Disappears for the duration of the battle after a single use.
Bright PowderLowers the accuracy of moves used by opponents against the holder by 10%.
Lum BerryCures any status condition or confusion. Disappears for the duration of the battle after a single use.

As you can see, these items have similar effects to S-tier items, but with slightly lower stats. One thing that should be noted, though, is that in some cases, A-tier items will be more effective than S-tier items. Lum Berry, for example, is extremely effective on Pokémon that you want to keep active.

All Other Items Are Situational

We’ve covered the top items currently in Pokémon Champions. While the game has over 50+ held items, all the others are quite situational. They are very powerful on the Pokémon that use them, but you cannot rate one higher than the other.

It all depends on the team composition you’re running alongside your playstyle. I did not include Mega Stones in the list for the same reason. Mega Stones are Pokémon-specific, and you can’t rate one Mega Stone higher than another.

You should always make sure to look up the required items for each team before taking it into battle, since items have a massive impact on the outcome of every battle.
