It’s been a few weeks since the release of Pokémon Champions, and while most things appear to be running smoothly, there’s always room for improvement. The third patch for the game dropped yesterday, and we’re here to cover all the changes.

The patch aimed to fix bugs and minor issues, such as ability explanations or network issues during battles. These bugs might not seem that big, but they can break immersion and be annoying when you face them in the heat of the battle. But without further wait, let’s get right into all the fixes.

The highlight of this update is the fix for the networking issues players worldwide faced. If you’ve played the game in recent weeks, you’ve probably had the pleasure of being disconnected from your ranked battle during the climax. However, this problem is now solved. You’ll finally be able to complete your fights without lag and the fear of being disconnected.

Another major problem, which was the buggy appearance of a few Pokémon during battle, has now been addressed.

Other than that, the update focuses on fixing simple discrepancies in the game, like incorrect list patterns.

Here are the following bug fixes made in version 1.0.3 of Pokémon Champions:

  • The explanation for Leech Seed is incorrect.
  • The gender listed for certain Pokémon in the tutorial is listed incorrectly.
  • The player is unable to select a move when they move the cursor over Mega Evolution while viewing move details and then press the B Button.
  • The Unnerve ability doesn’t work on Pokémon with certain abilities, and they can eat Berries.
  • The speed changes caused by held items are not reflected in the order in which abilities activate.
  • Certain other issues related to networking and visual appearance during battles.

Now that you’ve seen all the changes in the latest patch, let’s go over how you can update your game to the latest version.

How To Update Pokémon Champions

In order to update the game on your Switch, your device must be connected to a stable internet connection. Once you’ve ensured the connection, follow these steps:

  1. Hover over the game icon. Don’t select it; otherwise, it will launch the game.
  2. Press the + or Button on your controller.
  3. Select Software Update, then select Via the Internet to update your game.

Once this is done, your game should be updated to the latest version.

Go ahead and enjoy the changes, and while you’re at it, take a look at how to farm Victory Points in the game. If you’re feeling sweaty, you can also find out how to craft a meta team and become the best trainer in the world.
