No amount of dazzle matters if they didn’t fix the recurring issues from the past . Still happy they are making a new game
EA have done well to approach the game in a different way to 2K. NBA 2K is more about representing the NBA experience, Live is more about the getting to the NBA experience. The question I have is, does Live need the NBA license. Anyone who wants a game that represents the NBA in terms of on court & TV style presentation will surely lean towards 2K’s game. However if it’s purely a fun, albeit less realistic game of basketball then Live maybe the game. It has a far more arcade approach. That’s an observation not a criticism. I just feel EA could invest more in the game & less in its licence.

Looks like the NBA in NBA Live is secondary. This is mostly street ball.

While that probably isn't gonna over great on these forums, a lot of people I know really remember the old Street games really fondly, so there is probably a market niche for it
I hope there is another quality jump like last year. Live 18 had some pressing flaws, but it was the first playable foundation they could build off of since Live 10.
Ok, I might be jumping to Live this fall, that trailer was crazy. It looks like EA actually fixed their animations, and the graphics seemed pretty good for still using the Ignite Engine. Can't wait for Franchise/Career mode details
Ain't gonna trust the hype unless I have guarantee from a Producer or EA themselves that Dynasty Mode isn't broken AGAIN. Can't drop close to $60 only to be surprised that my favorite mode, Dynasty, is missing basic functionality. And please please not it be the Week 1, Week 2 thing again with the team schedule.
Something tells me that people who play Franchise Mode will suffer. lol I hope they paid attention to the smaller things and other modes. Animations looks extremely fluid. I cannot deny that.
I hope they add zoom and height options to the camera and also with the espn camera allow the camera to be in front of a passed ball. In 18 the ball would be passed and the camera would be late to advance.
I wonder if they will have another discounted price for pre orders. I will buy 19 out the gate if its 29.99.
Sad to see it won't release on PC. I'd love to be able to sell my XBox and switch over to Origin Access, but EA doesn't seem to care much about PC gamers.
Madden is finally there, but UFC and Live are still console only.

Live seems to always be one or two (or ten) steps behind Madden for some reason. Madden gets the good stuff, while Live "gets the crumbs" after a couple of years.
I've been supporting Live from Sega Genesis days til now. There's been some rough years but I never lost faith in them. Now they have my full attention.

i wouldn't expect anything to change for the camera issues. And if the camera still needs to play catch up with the ball being thrown down court, that's going to make me grit my teeth. That wsa going on since nba live 14.
I hope this game doesn't become a focus on street ball and the actually nba game 5 on 5 is neglected, I like street ball, and man, nba street is one of my favs, but I still want a deep nba experience not just from the other guys.
Based on the trailer it's clear EA's focus this year is all about building your own player (whatever EA calls their version of MyPlayer/MyPark) and not about sim/franchise/depth/customization. This is likely what EA would love to do with Madden but there's still a huge group of offline CFMers fighting the good fight to keep the mode relevant; there isn't a similar group when it comes to Live.
Regardless, I won't consider Live until we can fully edit players in our base roster, any word yet on if that's included this year?

you would think if they added the roster editing patch for last year, it's gotta be there at launch...
I again need to be clear, for me, I don't want this franchise to be a 5 on 5 nba street, I want a real nba game too. I hope they don't lose focus.

I didn't know they patched it in; I didn't follow any Live news post-release. Good to hear.

This what im afraid of an what it seems like all sports games are going to solely be about soon enough.
I would still like them to focus and deliver a good franchise mode aswell for the offline gamers

Has potential, but ill wait till it drops to $20 in November, or $10 in February near the all star break.
    This right here.

it would be shocking if they didn't considering they patched roster editing on 18 later in the season, it's gotta be there, right? LOL.

But by the time they patched it in(should have been in the game to begin with), many of us frustrated live players had already put the game down for good.
There's gotta be some corporate 🤝 deal behind the scenes or over a game of golf between 2K &EA...2K19 $100 edition on the 7th while LIVE gets a 3day bump in sells. 2K could easily put a foot on EA's throat by dropping the $100 edition 3days earlier &the standard edition on the 7th.

It was added but ONLY for Player Ratings... Still can't touch Tendencies which we know is what drives Player interactions on the court.
