  1. Its barely changed from last year. A couple extra animations and that’s it.
Those new dribble moves look silly in a real nba game and as expected with this series just animate like there is no defender there.
The new motion stuff is just to put a name to a nothing feature. It still moves exactly like Live.
It’s clear without the move to Frostbite and with all of the focus on the created player and street court stuff that EA simply didn’t allocate any real budget on this series.

I disagree. UFC 3 is using Real Motion.

Frostbite is just a graphics engine.
I can see minor similarities, but I can definitely tell the difference more. This will be the first year since Live 2007 where I'm committing to EA all in. Hopefully they don't disappoint.
it looks good but if they didn't address
    - Substitution bugs
-Camera not keeping up with ball bug
That has been with us since Live 14, then I won't be happy.
Those are pretty bad bugs. And they never address them.
it looks more fluid than last year, good to see!
Still hope they remove that annoying "two points" and "for two" from the PA announcer, sounds just bad IMO.

The PA announcer needs to go IMO. Isn't he the same PA announcer in Live 97?
Anyways, based on the videos above, 19 is a cleaner version of 18 -- animation-wise. Jumpshot is more fluid and not floaty like the jumpshots in 18 (pre-patches). Ball/rim interaction needs some fine tuning, but overall, I like what I saw. Need to see more post up game though.
Well "it's live"..like I said it seems more of Ea's focus is on the park than actual NBA side...all the videos I've seen up until now are about a freaking dribble move going between the defenders leg..(park moves in the NBA)...they really need to come out with a new streets game. Gameplay looks smoother at times and still stiff in others.I can see the team is trying. They gotta fix the back court calls and curry traveled hard as hell on his first possession. Its little stuff like that which kills the immersion.

This is a very minor issue, but I really hope they fix the sound of the rim before the game is released. I can hear the difference compared to Live 18. It's too loud and doesn't sound realistic like how it normally would when watching a game on TV.

I think the movement is something you'll have to feel rather than see. I just hope there arent too many canned sequence when it comes to 1 on 1 interactions...

I would love it if they brought Marv Albert back one day I actually really enjoyed his commentary back on the old NBA Live games

I actually really like having Breen in the game. He brings a lot of emotion to the commentary.
My biggest hope is that they made subtle movements and walk-up dribbles/walking sizeups possible. It's such a huge part of the cat and mouse game in 1v1 and isolations, and I've hated that it hasn't been in the last few games.
I watched a live 19 trailer vid and it worried me, and I said to myself typical ea since they are focusing on things that aren't important. The trailer showed more courts for your 'The One' player, a mode I didn't even play in last year's game.
What about the horrible franchise mode, and a franchise mode for the wnba this time too? A create a player/team should be mandatory...well it is for me, because I'm not buying another live game without it. Add Mark Jackson and Doris Burke to the commentary team, have Van Gundy be more excited and animated like he is in real life. Show off improved gameplay and COACH/TEAM sliders.
There is so much the live team could and should have focused on. It's early, so hopefully they address some of this, but I was not happy at all with what I've seen so far.
Why is almost every person in the crowd wearing the same t-shirt and grey pants? Sorry but things like that distracting and break immersion. My OCD can’t handle that.

Hahaha! I’d love what you’re having. This is like ordering food at a diner.
EA will get it cooked and delivered shortly.
As someone who’s has put a ton of time into 18, the player movement appears to be a lot smoother based on the videos posted.

Player movement does look way way better. People say graphics look the same but they aren't looking at all the small subtle movement changes. It's much nicer
I played over 3 hours of it at the event. Multiple teams and modes. The movement is evident, whether its as extreme of a change as someone may want or expect is another point.
The graphics are really strong. Several times, I was in awe of the visuals.
The A.I. is absolutely better. I was surprised how many of the YouTubers never changed settings. But I did for sure. Definitely an improved version of the game. For me, not a groundbreaking improvement, but for sure noticeable. I have full intent on getting the game. And Im not sure what they have in store for some of my issues with franchise, player lock, and other legacy issues. But gameplay alone. Im in.

The movement is way better .
I’m shocked people are saying live 19 looks bad . Live 18 had good graphics , I doubt they downgraded any . It looked much better on my tv than watching through YouTube
what i noticed,  is that the game play looks sluggish and slow.  also slow AI reaction to loose balls. and also when recovering on defense, it  appears to be a slight morphing into defensive position or recovery.
    that is all
True, however, a large majority of youtubers received the same video that was on a slower game speed and on rookie. Those who are larger influences clearly did not alter their game either
Outside of that; it's a Alpha and like Live 18 when that was released their first patch it changed the game for the better (and it kept getting better with each patch)

Not sure what would qualify as a lot. But definitely several new ones.

I hope the tipoff animations are going to be fixed this year. It's always the same animation where the ball floats into the player's hands. I would like to see the ball hitting the court or the other players scrambling to win the tip.
Same goes for the full court shot animations. It's so unrealistic and the ball hits the rim every time. I have never once seen an air ball when it's shot from the other side of the court like in real life.

street ball moves in a NBA game, that is what NBA Live 19 appears to be. Like come on, people aren't doing these moves in a NBA game. The risk for a turnover is extremely high for an NBA player to even attempt these moves. But I guess when the game comes out we will see if these moves are over powered or not. Hope it isn't automatic canned animation sequence.
The game-play is looking very good, animations and player movement are improved.
Two issues that stick out too me, the jerseys are still too loose/poofy and some of the passing animations still look weird.

It has been stated that these moves are not overpowered and are quite challenging to pull off. In fact, in one of the videos you will notice that CP3 makes a failed attempt that bounces of the opposing players leg. Furthermore, it's restricted to only few players like CP3 and Kyrie, etc. Curry, for example, is unable to pull off a nutmeg, according to someone present at the event who tried multiple times with him to no avail.

I don't know why but I hate this cam angle BUT when it comes to NBA Live this angle looks great.
Lighting looks great maybe that's why...the court and players looks more lively (no pun intended) the other game this angle makes me vomit. It just doesn't look right to me...eugh...

Had a on-off love affair with live 18 last yr.. but I can say, I'm somewhat excited about what i see. Looks smooth and some players look identical to there real life counter-part in terms of movement, especially harden, they nailed him!
By far the best looking Live in this generation and the differences are night and day.
I am sick and tired of EA releasing this game the same day as 2K. Like come on. Stop! Also, them focusing on the One is just how things are in this environment. That's what people are playing and investing their time in. I even play the One and I hate this type of mode. I do agree that the videos are too centered around the street ball.
I'm buying Live 19 and I will continue to support this game. It's going to get better every year, so I will gladly keep paying for it.

I agree with this. I'd like to see separation created without needing to break the defenders ankles. Both games struggle with the concept of AI defenders having human-like reactions.

sports games are all guilty as charged. They do need to spend more time on the crowds. It's been a pretty consistent issue for two decades of sports gaming. I wish they would take them to the next level where the players would interact with them and even maybe have instances where they're going for the ball and they dive into the stands and layout a fan in the process... LOL. I'd like to see more lively cheerleaders too during gameplay and maybe just litttle added touches like guys throwing hot dogs at people. lol

This will supposedly be in Live 19.
Our interactive environment feature breaks the wall between the players on the court and everything off of it. You’ll see players save the ball into the bench and the crowd. You’ll see players fall into the cameramen or crash into the stanchion.
To anyone that played the game vs the cpu, has any of you seen the cpu create midrange jumpers from the pull up off the dribble? I'm not talking about the cpu taking wide open midrange shots with no defender on them, I'm talking about guys like durant, irving and curry pulling up on a defender contested or creating space off the dribble?
How's it real player motion if they haven't actually motion captured guy's like Steph and Lebron? I know Harden did some mo cap last year, but that's just him. What makes it real player motion?
Has anyone looked at Kevin love or PG Tucker..wtf
Anyway this game is going to be another late in the year $5 purchase if that at all.

And stealing the ball has been too easy in LIVE 18, too many turnovers coming off the player simply stealing the ball out of ballhandler's hand. I like the improvement in animations and the way it LIVE 19 looks overall, seems more smooth and fluid. I think I am going to get it but I want to try it myself when the demo comes out

I haven't played 19 but can tell you that I have seen contested (or while in close proximity to the opposing player) cpu mid range shots in 18 with more frequency as of late. Really caught me off guard to be honest. That being said, I am guessing they will further improve or refine these occurrences for 19.

I agree that stealing was a breeze on default sliders in 18. However, to achieve a better balance my steal slider was adjusted to 2. This change allowed for a noticeable improvement in this regard. Here's hoping to a more toned down 19 out the box.
Lots of sliding and warping going on. Passing is still a mess and the ball seems like it has no tangibility. Change the gameplay engine already.

No player edit out the door... I'll hold off til February...$10-15

I would think it's there based on 18. However, not being able to edit tendencies or assign specific animations again is pretty much like not having a player editor at all.

That would be a huge mistake if they subtract from an already light mode/feature list. No way they do that. They know that the interweb would explode. This game already has an upfield battle. Now that they put it in the game I don’t think the would subtract it. If anything they made it deeper.
