NBA Live 18 Cover Athlete is James Harden, Pre-Order For $39.99, Releases September 15

EA Sports has just announced James Harden as the NBA Live 18 cover athlete. Check out the trailer and the official cover art below. If you pre-order, you can purchase the game for $39.99. NBA Live 18 is scheduled to release on September 15.

“When I heard about working with EA SPORTS and being the cover athlete of NBA LIVE 18 I was pretty excited for the opportunity,” said Harden. “NBA LIVE 18 is all about creating your own identity and making your mark on the league, and I can definitely relate to that. If anybody knows about creativity it’s me.”

I totally don't believe these cover atheletes. *He said *nearly the same thing when 2k16 was released. *Hopefully the game plays well.

It's all PR. What's he going to say "I didn't know Live still existed until EA approached me."
Looking forward to checking out the demo tomorrow. Does anyone know if the demo is strictly "The One" content or is there going to be an option to play as NBA teams, like a finals rematch?

Is Live still being cancelled tho? lol

It is a little weird that there still isn't an official date yet, unless I missed it. You would think it would be no later than September 20th. Maybe they have a surprise early release. Any later than the 20th, 2k18's date, would be dangerous for sales.

Doll hairs is the greatest auto correct ever.
Also 40 bucks? I'm sold....getting it for ps4 and going to wait EA access for xbone version.

Good marketing strategy. 40 bucks and your The One progress carries over? Nice. Very nice. If The One is as good as it looks (and it looks good), Live will have a buy from me this year.

Hopefully it will be up on Best Buy soon.......unless this price will only be with Gamestop

On the live site it lists: Best Buy, Amazon, Gamestop, Walmart, and a few others as eligible retailers.

The $40 for pre-orders, $60 if you wait is such a joke move by EA. It's like they have no faith in their product so they're trying to get as much money from pre-orders as possible.
There's no chance I'm pre-ordering Live after what has happened to the franchise the past few years.*
It's too bad, I was interested in the game at $40.
Wondering myself when the preorder price kicks in. All listed prices so far have it at $59.99 at Amazon and Walmart anyway. Target and Best Buy aren't listed yet, the one in the Microsoft store has no price and won't allow preorder.
Gamestop is live, though. $39.99 for both digital and physical.
I imagine all of it will be up tomorrow morning once the demo actually releases ...

Put 5 bucks on it now and if you don't want it at launch, cancel and get your money back. "Joke Move".....please

That's how these things work. It said pre order for a discount. It's not order whenever you like and get it for 33% off.

So you are interested in the game at $40 dollars, but you aren't buying it now because it turns to $60 at release date? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you will be playing the demo which is pretty accurate to the full game. I don't see how you lose out by pre-ordering the game. You can easily sell the game for full value or $40 easily during the 1st week.

did you even spend a single second with the demo yet
Considering NBA live 16 was $39.99 a month ago on Xbox live I'd say this is unexpected but appreciated. I loved 16 and praying to the gods the demo is good.
I just got home from work and found out about the pre-order for Live 18, anyways... Does anyone know if the physical copy on Amazon already sold out or did they just not put it up yet?
It says "Currently Unavailable" for the physical copy, but they only have the Xbox One digital code to pre-order

It literally shows the release date in the title of the Thread.
This move has to be because retailers were scared to buy copies because of that 6,700 debut.
Those retailers had to say preorders are how we moving with this game. No way we buying hundreds of thousands copies like we did with 16

For anyone that didn't know and was interested, if you create a New Zealand account, you can download the demo a day early.*

The original article just indicated Harden was the cover athlete. The price and date was updated after.
Plays pretty solid. Big step from 16. I do see some of the stuff that I did not like in 16 but saw so much more that straight up works now. And it's fun. Like big time fun. Pre-Ordered and paid in full. Happy Live head here.

That was really smart to discount the game. EA Live has to start rebuilding a fan base and that's a good way to attrack people into actually buying the game.
I like what I've seen with the demo. The more and more I play it the better it gets. I tried Live 15/16 but couldn't stand them, the animations just weren't there to draw you into the game and believe it was an actually NBA game. What I've seen so far with Live 18 in terms of the animations I'm really impressed with the progress they have made.
