MLB The Show 25: Release Date, Early Access Date, and Preorder Information

MLB The Show 25 has finally been officially revealed, and there’s plenty of things to dive into. For one, we finally have our cover athlete! Well, actually, there’s three of them as it’s been announced that Elly De La Cruz, Paul Skenes, and Gunnar Henderson — three of the most highly-touted prospects in Major League Baseball — will all be featured on the cover of this year’s title, marking the first time multiple players have graced the game’s cover art. But what about the more important details of MLB The Show 25’s release?

Everything You Need To Know About MLB The Show 25’s Release

Well, we finally have a release date! To coincide with the announcement that Skenes, De La Cruz, and Henderson would all be on the cover, San Diego Studio announced that MLB The Show 25 will be available on March 18, 2025. This marks the earliest release the series has released in five years. But that’s not the only milestone as it pertains to its release.

After years of begging and pleading with San Diego Studio, MLB The Show 25 is (mostly) leaving the old generation behind and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. And for the first time since the series became cross-platform, MLB The Show 25 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass or any other premium subscription service. This will likely have a good effect on sales moving forward, at least on the Xbox side.

MLB The Show 25 will begin taking pre-orders on February 4 at 6:00 AM (PST). This will coincide with the release of the game’s official gameplay reveal trailer, scheduled to drop three hours later at 9:00 AM (PST). There will be two versions of the game: A standard edition, and a Digital Deluxe Edition. By pre-ordering the latter, players will be given 4-days early access to the title beginning on March 14, allowing them first looks at the single-player modes as well as a head start in building out their Diamond Dynasty squad. No new features have been announced yet, but San Diego Studio has promised to reveal them between now and MLB The Show 25’s release.
