  1. I understand cross-play….but cross-saves ?
I may be missing something here but how many of us will start their season on let say PS5, then switch to an Xbox and or a Switch ?

I assumed it means if you're playing with a friend, one has xbox and one has PS, you can both save the game/franchise.

Cross saves make the most sense when going to and from the Switch from a console....portable gaming if you travel.
I'm trying to stay as positive as possible with the MTO/Franchise stream tomorrow but hey, was it necessary to release this video when everybody's expecting something related to the stream ?
I feel like I got trolled.

Ok now...stay focused on tomorrow :headbang2
There's always Friday to complain if tomorrow is not going as expected :D
If I could port a roster from 19 to 20, I can't understand for the life of me why I can't do the same from 21 to 22.
Won't be buying until that is an option again.

I think the question boils down to whether or not there is a fundamental change to the rosters themselves (e.g. a change in roster size or differences in file format stuff).
If there aren't fundamental changes, I 100% agree with your take.

I can't stand these puppets. They been using them to do trailers for a while now. Not a fan of it.

I don't dislike the puppets, they're even funny sometimes even if it gets old quickly. Like any humor, some will like and some won't, that's normal.
My main concern with the puppets is they're using it to dilute the diffused information on the game itself with shorter and shorter streams and videos.
We're now eating 1 foot long hot-dogs with regular 4.8 inches sausage. Maybe we just need more beer and cooldown :cheers444

My main gripe with the puppets are that they're taking up way too much time bickering when they could show videos of the game.

My guess is last year it was because the Xbox hsc no
History of it and now the switch so no need to make a feature that can’t work for all consoles. I said this last year. This year we can blame the switch.
It’s ok I’ll waste hours of work
Doing it again. Because of it.

Cross saves ?? But they couldn’t give ur y2y saves instead I need 2 different consoles to use “cross saves” for some reason

If the justification for removing Y2Y is indeed ‘not enough use to justify resources’ I would love to see the numbers comparing use of cross-saves to use of Y2Y saves and the time spent on making each possible.

I guess they figure more people want to start their seasons over with the new rosters every year. I feel the cross platform saves will be more used. But I could be wrong.
Well those people would Have to have a 2nd console
Xbox users won’t bother with you the feature because it’s on gamepass they are not going to buy the game on ps5 to use Cross gen.
And why would you buy the game twice only a ps5 player who bought it on their would use it on day a switch.
Y2y was used for rosters mainly then for what it actually for and that would be used more if it was just y2y rosters not franchise that would make people happy

I like starting a new season with new rosters too but not with half the players and vets missing, hence the need for y2 y saves then spending hours creating those players again and simming stats to kill rookie status
We don’t want a rookie Eric Thames starting for As “ getting his first at bat celebrationl

I agree. There are several people that will use it for rosters. I know I would.

The only thing I can think of is cross play allows people to stay engaged with DD, assuming DD allows cross play. Where as Y2Y saves doesn't generate, or have the potential to generate, additional review. :nocomprende:

Bro that rookie thing is really irking you! lmao It bothers me now too but only cause you've brought it up.
I guess it's an attempt to really sell the game on Switch, but I find it hard to imagine too many people are genuinely going to have the game on Switch and PS5/Xbox and keep a save between the two, as the game will play so differently on both? You'd have no consistency?
I guess it's main use will be to let people use the DD market place on their switch while at work/school?
You guys are being a little hard on cross-saves. Last year when I got my PS5 I wanted to bring my PS4 save with me but could not. That sucked. Yeah it’s not carry-over but don’t say it’s nothing because it’s something.

Yes it irks me to no end. Your not wrong
I remember in mlb 12 Moyer had to be a 49 year old rookie. We had the issue solved with y2y saves. And kept the player I’d and card audio Yes we can edit service time but it’s Pointless when the game says their a rookie with no career stats.
I know it will never happen
But there are 3 ways to fix this
1 When we add service time let the career stats show 2018 2019 ect even though it shows no stats it will show the player was in the league so many years thus not a rookie.
2 if we edit service time past the qualifying rookie cap then the game won’t treat them as a rookie, so commentators won’t say “he will bf happy tonight his first hone run or rbi or hit ect.
    3. Let us edit career stats fully (never will happen) but bacon rosters would be great fit this.
So 3 ways to fix it. But I’m sure we will have to wait for “sds cap players” by then my franchise has already started.
Anyway where a bit off topic here but “cross save” for rosters for previous years would be important for switch users too
If we can have a cross save for 22 why can’t a switch user grab a 21 roster for 22? It’s gonna be the same format as the past 5 years.

No matter what changes are required per system, it can be done. SDS made the choice not to do it..not to spend money and resources on it.
This is db mgt and file formatting stuff. It would not have taken a full dev cycle to complete it. They chose not to throw any money at it, since not enough ROI.
It's not too complex, no matter what we all hear. It's a conscious decision by the team.

So any dibs on the length of the stream today?

Probably anywhere between 25-40 min if I had to guess. I think most of it will be about MtO, which is still interesting to me as I have been looking for them to give me a reason to try it out. Still hope they give us a bit more about franchise though. Excited either way....plus we've got real baseball and NCAA tourney games...it's a good day!

Yeah, I am excited to see the changes in MTO as well. I would love to try it if they include at least these options.
    Custom rosters
    Injuries
    Multi year

I agree. Cross-play and cross-save is always a plus. It means you get an healty online game in which you can easily find players to play with. And it's especially good now that we get 2vs2 and 3vs3. It's a key feature for a game. Keep in mind, there are many games without cross-play and their online comunity are pretty much dead for that reason.

Regardless of what these things offer, it sucks that we get a video on crossplay (which we already knew about) instead of an actual video about mto/franchise like usually the week of the stream.
Big day today with-it being Franchise Day. I do not expect much if any changes due to the fact I think they only added it to schedule because people complained but I am going to buy it anyway.
Truly redone logics would be a major change for the mode. Last year's changes weren't apparently. If they could rebuild many of the logic systems already present then that could give the mode the natural depth it needs.
SDS doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to make the mode enjoyable. Baseball is like the collegiate sports games. The structure of the sport itself can make the mode be of good quality if represented well. Right now it isn't.
The NCAA games were a blast to play simply because the roster turnover rate and recruiting were natural advantages that other sports games didn't have. It naturally kept the Dynasty mode feeling deep and fresh year after year because you had guys 5 years at most, and typically each season you had a different team.
The MLB is so scouting, drafting, and development dependent that if SDS could expand the rosters and redo the draft, scouting, progression, and regression, then the mode would have plenty of depth that a game like Madden representing the NFL couldn't have as naturally.
Right now the scouting and drafting processes are incredibly bland, and progression/regression have to be so simple because of the limited rosters.
