While the original Wreckfest was already a head-turner thanks to its wild vehicular combat, Bugbear has brought a sequel for the fans to go beyond with the door-to-door smashing. Despite being in early access, Wreckfest 2 is doing well in continuing the legacy of its action-packed predecessor. Currently, it offers four courses to battle on, with more to be added.
These new courses are a thing of their own, but which one is the best? Well, that depends on your taste and the punishment you can bear, as every track poses different challenges. With high-speed collisions and ruthless racing, here are all the Wreckfest 2 courses ranked.
Scrapyard
This course screams you are playing Wreckfest 2; it captures everything fans have booted up the game for. Get ready to be slapped with constant challenges, such as tight turns, narrow corridors, and the constant risk of getting sideswiped into the stacks of discarded cars, which never stops creating tension.
Nothing about this map is linked to clean racing. You either smash into someone or get smashed at. Taking clever split-second decisions is the key to surviving in this unforgiving environment.
Savolax Sandpit
More of a looker than a chaos-hoster, this high-speed abandoned mine is one of the more stunning courses of the game. It is long enough for you to fully adore the visual and technical details Bugbear has added to the sequel. With dirt and paved roads, you get to battle on two layouts: the main circuit and the reversed.
Regardless of the layouts, the tensions are still high thanks to random elevation changes and tricky corners throughout the track. The course is a real test even for experienced players, making it a wonderful place to showcase your racing skills.
Speedway
Imagine Speedway as a crazy NASCAR event where you are allowed to have bone-crushing lightning-speed collisions with your opponents. This course is for players who aim for a traditional racing experience without compromising the Wreckfest spirit. You are offered three challenges: Speedway Race, Derby, and Figure 8 — though only Figure 8 maintains Wreckfest’s gritty charm.
The track’s clean with paved roads, making it easy to floor every car in the game. For collisions, utilizing walls can be your chance to throw your opponents straight out of the competition.
Testing Grounds
As the name already suggests, there is no racing on the Testing Grounds. It’s just you in a closed course with other drivers carrying a common goal — to test how long you can keep your car alive, as you smash into everything that moves. Players can drive through different loops and continue with the chaos until their car gives up.
Although this lawless sandbox does sound fun, the absence of the derby structure and racing makes the fun wear off quickly, making it ideal for short bursts. However, if blind-smashing other players is what you seek, this course is for you.
