The entire premise of Pokemon has always been to become the best trainer in the region. It goes without saying that Pokémon Champions will follow suit. But how are players supposed to distinguish themselves in the game? Simple. Climb the ranked ladder.
Similar to every competitive game, Pokémon Champions also follows ranked tiered progression. If you really want to call yourself the best Pokémon trainer out there, you’ll need to reach the top of the ladder. Today, I’m going to talk about all the ranked tiers you’ll need to push through and how to do just that.
What Are Pokémon Champions Ranked Tiers?

Ranked tiers in Pokémon Champions are levels of competitive play that distinguish a player’s rank. As you win battles against other trainers in your division, you’ll progress to the next tier and earn rewards, all the way up to the Champion tier.
In total, there are 6 ranked tiers. Here’s the complete list alongside expected rewards:
| Tier Name | Sub-Divisions | Initial Tier Rewards |
| Beginner | N/A | N/A |
| Poke Ball | IV-I | N/A |
| Great Ball | IV-I | 1000 Victory Points, the “Great Trainer” title, and +5 storage |
| Ultra Ball | IV-I | 1000 Victory Points, the “Ultra Trainer” title, and +5 storage |
| Master Ball | IV-I | 1000 Victory Points, the “Master Trainer” title, and +10 storage |
| Champion | N/A | N/A |
These are all the ranked tiers in the game so far. There hasn’t been any news on the sub divisions or rewards for Beginner and Champion tiers, but we’ll need to wait and see if they’re also broken down into tiers.
Each ranked division will get progressively harder as other trainers use better Pokémon coupled with meta strategies. But how do you rank up in the first place?
How To Rank Up In Pokémon Champions?
There’s only one way to rank up in Pokemon Champions, and that’s to win. Each sub-division will require three wins before you rank up to the next sub-division, eventually progressing into the next ranked tier. If you lose a match, you’re set back by one win.
Whether or not Pokémon Champions will have demotion protection is uncertain for now. If you consistently lose matches, you’ll be relegated to the previous league. This just shows how important having a solid win condition is so that you’re able to maintain your rank.
