Super Mega Baseball 3
Super Mega Baseball 3 Interview with the Developers (SGO)
SGO has posted a new developer interview with Christian Zuger, Richard Gibson, and Scott Drader from Metalhead Software, as they talk about the upcoming Super Mega Baseball 3.
Discussions include their reaction to the feedback from SMB 2, development difficulties, new feature decisions and more. Of note, the developers also reveal some new and interesting details on offseason roster management, that you won’t see in any other sports game.
Super Mega Baseball 3 will release on May 13, for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam for $44.99.

I think they have an online franchise mode coming.
GAME CHANGER!!!
It's 2020. Please do this. Bring it back.
I imagine roster sharing coming before online franchise.
I rather open up the roster sharing than go deeper with online modes. I get online but I need rosters lol.
I have read that people really want a "home run derby mode", and I really hope this is not it. There are many better options that it could be: online franchise, roster share, cross-platform co-op, 2v2 Pennant Race, or even an online draft mode (basically MUT Draft Champions). I think I would take anything over a home run derby mode lol.
I think they have an online franchise mode coming.
GAME CHANGER!!!
I’m really hoping for this. This game plays so well and fast online, it would easily best the best online baseball league I’ve done. And I doubt they limit us to using every team and forcing CPU owners.
But, it really might not be that. I’m excited for this release regardless.
That’s really too bad. Franchise mode isn’t as fun without career stats, so I think I might just stick with SMB2 until a sale.
I really think you’re missing out if you do that. Besides, this literally is exactly the kind of company that deserves our money compared to some others that don’t innovate, throw out a reshashed stale game, or play it overly safe every year. Hopefully you pull the trigger because to me, this is release 3 of a 4 year awesome game cycle.
As a SMB veteran, I'd actually like a derby for single player with distances to chill out and mash bombs and try to hit it out of the park - that's one thing in SMB1 I remember being able to hit MASSIVE bombs a bit more often - I actually think in 2 you just couldn't hit it as far with 100% connect and power - maybe I'm wrong but in the ocean level it was cool jacking it right out of the park in Left Centre field as well as some of the other parks in certain parts.
Putting it this way is making me rethink things. I’ll probably still at least wait for the team export since things are a little lean right now and I’m not sure it’s a good time to spend $45 when I’m still enjoying the last one a ton. The developers for this game are fantastic and I’ll try to support them when the time is right.
Are they in SMB 2?
I know not everyone has a PC, but those that do, it is simple as a click to get rosters imported.
They are already working on career stats for Franchise mode. Hopefully, it comes in the same update as custom Pennant Race.
