A new Retro Bowl update has arrived for both iOS and Android devices. The update adds audibles, save slots, timeouts to stop the clock when tackled and more.

Here’s what’s new in the update.

  • Tweaked interceptions and defensive AI
  • Fixed tight end blocking
  • Increased QB running speed
  • Brought back *a little* contact between receivers and DBs
  • Receivers run routes further into the endzone
  • Side-step ability recharges when you ease off it
  • Fixed back-up QB changing skin colour
  • Reduced top-end salaries
  • Increased QB and kicker retirement age to 40
  • Fixed catching a 2pt attempt out of bounds
  • Sacks, ints and yards from 2 point attempts not recorded in stats
  • Clock not stopped when QB sacked
  • Tweaked KK and RB xp gain
  • Head to head records checked in tie-breaker situations

Also, just in case you missed it, here is our Retro Bowl review.

In the end, Retro Bowl is quite possibly the most fun mobile game I have ever played. Sure, there’s only so much you can do before you’re just playing tirelessly through each season with hopes of winning back-to-back titles. But for a game that seems so simple, it’s anything but simple. As you progress deeper into a season, the game seems to get much harder, and you will need to prioritize the players you sign via free agency and the draft. After spending the last week with the game, it has lived up to the hype and much more.

  1. This game is fantastic. I'm in season 12 and find myself wanting to play this game over some of my console sports games.  Matches only take a few mins. I advise any reader of this site, if you love sports video games (and why else would you be reading this site?), download this game right now. It's free and only a few dollars to unlock the whole game. I guarantee you'll love it and play it a bunch.
If the developer is reading this, please consider making a college football game with all division 1 teams. Instead of acquiring players via the draft and free agency with a trade mixed in here or there, you would recruit your squad of stars year after year. You could recreate the current bowl system or have a customizable playoff to decide the national champion. I'd buy this game day one.
Love this game, easy to learn, hard to master. Just won my 1st Retro Bowl in season 4. Great way to kill time on the train, or get in some gaming on the couch while the misses watches tv.
