I can’t lie — I’ve really been enjoying MLB The Show 25 thus far. The return of the yearlong power creep in Diamond Dynasty is certainly a welcome change, and has definitely quelled that feeling of “FOMO” many players get. Also, I find both hitting and pitching to be way more rewarding this year. Sure, exit velocities have been given a bit of a nerf. And I could be extremely biased since I feel I’ve been playing well. But overall, I’m satisfied with the game. That said, it’d be disingenuous to say it’s perfect.
Like any video game, MLB The Show 25 has its flaws. Some of them are but a minor inconvenience. But others aren’t nearly as innocuous — one in particular has been bordering on game-breaking. But luckily for players, this issue will soon be a thing of the past.
MLB The Show 25 To Fix A Bug Pertaining To Dreadlocks And Frame Rate Issues
For Diamond Dynasty players, one of the best hitters you can currently use in the game is the 88 OVR Manny Ramirez earned through the 1st Inning XP Reward Path. Not only does Manny have a great swing, good hitting attributes, and virtually any hitting quirk you could ask for, but MLB The Show 25 marks the first time Manny Ramirez has appeared in an MLB game since 2011. Predictably, Ramirez was the first Boss many players chose. However, his card has a serious problem with it.
For one reason or another, Manny Ramirez’s dreadlocks would occasionally cause the game to experience frame rate issues when waiting for a pitch. In a competitive mode such as Diamond Dynasty, this was obviously not optimal for hitters squaring a pitch or pitchers trying to nail their final Pinpoint motion. It was for this reason I had to bench Ramirez from my DD squad. Eventually, I sold him.
Following MLB The Show 25‘s most recent patch, Game Update 5, developer San Diego Studio told players that it had become aware of the issue and would be addressing it in a future patch. Apparently, it wasn’t only Manny Ramirez who was affected, but other players with dreadlocks.
